My sister got the green curry (which was too spicy for me personally), my friend got the fried rice with beef, and I got the pad see ew noodles, which were really good but slightly on the sweet side. I just went here for the first time with my husband and my mom. I got a vegan green curry. My husband had beef Pad Kra Po. My mom had a special duck entrée. We shared spring rolls as an appetizer and a special chocolate soufflé dessert. We all enjoyed the food, even my mom who has never had Thai food before and a picky eater such as myself. (I actually tried a bite of everyone's food and liked it all!) Everything tasted very fresh. The atmosphere is warm and cheerful, as is the staff. The bathroom was comfortable and spacious; it was also very clean (impressive for a very busy Saturday night). I was going to give this place 4 stars but when I think about it, I'm not really sure how they could improve. I'm not at all an authentic Thai food connoisseur but this place is a notch above your standard Thai place when you consider the fresh ingredients, cleanliness, and excellent service. I haven't had the pleasure of sitting at the restaurant but we've ordered takeout several times. They're always super friendly & the food is absolutely fantastic. Their Pad Kee Mao is bomb & their Thai basil dish is a classic. They always put in a ton of veggies & a good portion of protein. I love Thai food, so when I moved to Mt Laurel I needed to identify my go to Thai restaurant. I tried a few and they were fine. Then i tried Bhan Thai. I was super impressed. It's small and cozy...gets crowded during lunch time. The wait staff are warm and helpful. The food is delicious. I'm vegetarian-ish, and there tons of options. Massaman curry. Yum. Place is awesome and I was looking for a go to Thai place. The food was great and the people were nice. It's traditional Thai food with an Asian mix of foods also on the menu. The sticky rice is very good. Just the texture and taste that I wanted. I wish I had more. The summer rolls weren't my favorite, they could use a bit more vegetables in there, specifically more of a taste of basil and culantro. Coconut Thai mussels were very tasty. I would order these again. The grilled salmon is served with sticky rice, grilled vegetables and a spicy chili sauce. I could have used quite a bit more spice in the chili sauce, even after asking for the spiciness to be increased. I was a little disappointed that the fish and vegetables weren't grilled in the banana leaf. The sticky rice is served in a banana leaf, but not the fish. The salmon was cooked a little more than I like, but it wasn't bad, better than a lot of places. Over all a very good dish, just some things that I'd like to see change. read more

I love thai food hand have had Thai food in all corners of the US... but this place was very close to the bottom of my list of Thai places I can't for the life of it, understand why this place has been rated 4 stars on Yelp I've been here 3 times and have had the Fried rice twice (chicken and tofu) and the pad thai once. The food tastes below average, the portions are smaller than usual and the price is high The lunch specials are a joke. The soup that comes with it was hot water with a few pieces mushrooms floating in it and a few pieces of very questionable chicken pieces at the bottom. There was no salt or no flavor on the soup. I've not had the salad (that you can get instead of the soup) for lunch special but another reviewer was not very happy with that either Add to that, the lady who runs the place is downright rude. I was eating by myself and I ran up a check of $9.50. She asked me if I had cash as the minimum for a card was $10. I didn't have cash so she said that she was making an exception this one time which I thought was good. However, she repeated 3 times in 5 minutes that she wouldn't make the same exception another time (although this was the first time that I'd paid there by card and it was only 50 cents off of the minimum stated amount excluding the tip). This was directly insulting a paying customer. In any case, the total amount including tip would exceed $10, so I just couldn't understand how this would affect her or her profits The only reason that I can possibly think of the popularity of this place is because it is so close to Bishops Gate offices. Bhan Thai is Tres Bien! I heard this place was opening this spring, and was one of the first to try out the lunch. I've been partial to other Thai places down on Springdale and other points south - but this is like a new oasis in the desert. To date, we've been stuck with mediocre vietnamese in the neighborhood, with acceptable presentations of extremely bland food. So far I've tried the Curry Chicken Puffs and Lemon Grass Soup for starters. I absolutely love the Lemon Grass soup. The puffs are like a moist version of a samosa - with flavor. But the main dish is why I'll keep coming back. Sure others are trying the Masaman - and other - curries. But I am a Pad Kee Mao junkie! And this place has just what the doctor ordered for me. Wide rice noodles with a very flavorful sauce. I tried it the first time with the chicken and it was very good. The next day I came back and had it with their imitation duck (seitan?). Man, I am sure this is the best meal available in the lower 48. I haven't tried out the desert menu - I'm going to have enough weight issues with my new kee mao diet. read more

Very good lunch, reasonably priced, good portions! A coworker and I came here for lunch and ordered the vegetable spring roll (2 qty) for $2.95, Masaman curry with beef, and pad Thai with shrimp. The masaman curry came with a choice of either coconut soup or salad. The coconut soup was delicious and has mushrooms, zucchini, and tofu cubes. The curry itself was flavorful and came with a bowl of rice. It had avocado, onions, potato, and beef (you can also choose chicken, vegetable, or shrimp). The Pad Thai had a good portion of shrimp vs. vegetables. It was very flavorful and filling and most importantly, didn't taste like ketchup mixed with noodles. The eggs on the pad Thai didn't taste dry and overcooked. The service was fast and the waitresses are very nice. Overall, I highly recommend this place for lunch. read more

The Panang Curry with "imitation duck" was incredible. Even if you're wary of meat substitutes, give this a try. In fact, all of their curries are rich and flavorful. If you like powerful flavors and lots of sauce, this is your place. Spice levels can be adjusted. The staff here is delightful. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and the service is prompt and accurate. It's a shame that this place is in a strip center; if it were a free standing restaurant I would absolutely recommend it for a special romantic dinner. As it is though, it's still a very nice place to eat before you walk across the lot to either Toppings or Coldstone for dessert! Perfect for a casual date night. This place is small and cozy. Our waiter was nice and apologetic but there's no apologizing for their food. Our chicken was SUPER dry. I sent it back thinking it'll be better but nope, still dry. I really tried to eat the tumyum soup but man was it painful. The owner not once came over to talk to us about our food. I overheard her telling the waiter to give us free desert. This is the best Thai place I've been too. Food is always very consistent. There are a ton of vegetarian options. Their soups are on point. Some of my favs are Summer Rolls, Tom Yum Soup, Coconut Soup, Egg Drop soup, Spicy Fried Rice, Pad Kar Pao, Basil Eggplant, Green Curry. You can't really go wrong here. This rating is based on the entire meal for lunch. Had the Drunken Noodles with Chicken and it was spot on in terms of flavor. Could have used a little more Thai Basil in it, but the sauce was good and noodles covered evenly with the sauce. The portion could have been a little larger though. If I was rating just on this dish, would give 4 Stars. But we were there for lunch and their lunch menu includes "Soup of the day" or salad, in addition to your main meal. First off they only have 1 Soup option, and it was not vegetarian safe. Odd considering most Thai food can be made vegetarian. The soup option was also not one of the soups you would expect when you want to Eat Thai food. I would expect either Lemon Grass soup or the Coconut base that you can get at every Thai restaurant. The soup was basically rice porridge with a little egg in in and chicken stock. This is clearly a cost saver, so basically you pay $8.95 for a small plate of drunken noodles with chicken and some cheap soup. There are better Thai places around for better value. We asked if we could substitute the soup for something vegetarian safe for one of us, they said no, you can have the salad. The Salad was tiny (served on a coffee saucer size plate), basically prepackaged mixture of spring mix with what tasted like Italian dressing. Also ordered the massaman curry with tofu, the curry itself was good, but the tofu was basically just firm tofu with no seasoning put into the curry. Could have been sauteed to give a little textured, or they could have used the fried tofu. Decor is nice, but the place is pretty small. There was a 10 top there when we walked in and seemed like they took up a third of the restaurant. read more

Awesome food. I found this on Yelp and it was only a couple of miles from where I work. I regret finding it after 2 yrs at this place. I went there for lunch around 11.30, not too crowded and the staff was eager to help. I got the Thai Basil fried rice and asked for spiciness level of 4 on a scale of 1-5. Mistake there, it was too spicy for me and I was sweating and sniffling, but it was really good. I should have gotten spiciness level 3 and would have been apt for my tongue and palate and I am going to do that the next time. It started getting really crowded after about 12.15 so get in early during weekdays or take out. read more

I am extremely picky about my Thai food. Excited about a new Thai place in the neighborhood i decided to check it out. The overall food/experience left us with 3 stars. The decor was very nice and clean. The waitress seemed nice and brought us our waters and food promptly. The tom yum soup was not very satisfying. It was missing a lot of flavor that i am used to from other Thai restaurants. I will not order that again most likely. The masaman curry was flavorful and had a great mix of spices. My favorite was the Pad Thai. I think the Pad Thai is what scored this place 3 stars. It was just the right mix of flavor and the portion was a good size.
