    Tropical Duck Curry

Such a memorable experience!! I've heard great things about Bahn Thai and it surpassed my expectations! The star of the show was the tropical duck curry!! I would 100% get this again and recommend it to anyone. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some new dishes!

We love this place. We go almost weekly and never leave disappointed. After sampling almost everything on the menu, it's officially a hit!

As always: great food. We tried the sausage for the first time and liked it very much. The beef drunken noodles and the coconut rice with mango are amazing. The place is simple and nice. Very cordial staff.

This was an interesting experience. The soups and broths were delicious. However, the mussels were frozen and "fishy" didn't eat them. The curry chicken puff again delicious. But the "dumplings" were so oily they were not edible. So overall a 3. Will go back to try some more things bc the potential is here. The staff was friendly and atmosphere was casual and clean.

I'm always looking a good Thai restaurant wherever I go and moving to the Mount Laurel wasn't any different. Came across Bhan Thai (Mt. Laurel) on a Google search with decent reviews so I desired to give it a shot. First impressions were great and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was very calm and relaxing. The center pieces were also very nice and a perfect touch to the atmosphere. The customer service was on point as well. I went during dinner and was seated very quickly as it wasn't too busy. The waitress came by often to check up on me and was very tentative to all the tables in a timely manner as she was the only server from what it looked like. I ended up ordering the fried calamari as an appetizer followed by the pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea. All the food were very good portion and tasted amazing with the right amount of spice. I would recommend this spot to anyone in the area and would definitely go back to try other dishes soon.

Second time at Bhan Thai and enjoyed it as much as the first. The ravioli soup is my favorite. The broth is light yet flavorful and the ravioli are delicious. I also ordered the duck again. The only complaint is it is on the sweet side. Service is always good and the food comes out fast and hot. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Great place to go if you're in the mood for Thai food.

We ate outside on this gorgeous day because I had my pup with me. Kim had Panchero's and I ate here! I had a really good bowl of spicy shrimp fried rice. Great serving.! Four big and tasty shrimp, very yummy rice and a nice amount of vegetables (that I actually liked) that were cooked perfectly. Came with a small side salad. I'll be having that as part of tonight's dinner. Wish this were closer to me!

    Massaman curry with chicken

If you're looking for phenomenal authentic Thai food. This the place for you! All the dishes we had were so flavorful - we had chicken pad Thai , massaman curry with chicken , and when you go MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE CRAB FRIED RICE- literally each bite was to die for!!! I wish I took pics of all the food- I have only a few.

Another great meal! This place doesn't disappoint. This time I had the green curry chicken & jasmine rice. The flavors of the broth were simply delightful & it was the perfect amount of spice (not too hot). My favorite starter is always the vegetable spring rolls which were delicious as usual. Additionally I tried the Thai iced tea for the first time. It was as good as the reviews indicated. However, it is very sweet so I enjoyed it more as a dessert than with my meal. It was incredibly busy at noon on a Wednesday with a completely full dining room so service was a bit slower than normal but it's totally worth the wait.

Love this place! It's so nice to have a local Thai food restaurant that is consistent with flavors and pricing! When I'm looking for a wholesome and filling meal and in a pinch, I can count on Bhan Thai to deliver. I highly recommend trying their Massaman Curry dish! Tastes like a hug. :)

It's a concept of all you can eat, soup, salad, 2 rolls of your choice, at one time, nigiri, and either ice cream or sherbert. We ordered an appetizer from the main menu, the rangoon, was good. Now lunch was from the special all you can eat menu Monday menu, which is different than the full restaurant menu. There are a couple of special rolls on there. I tried the shrimp tempura roll, which I've never seen shrimp tempura look like a fish stick style, no shrimp tail at all, very odd. The rolls were prepared larger in size, I guess to get you full, or to not get you to follow one of their rules. So you must eat all of the sushi even the rice, you can't eat out the middle, even if you don't like it, before you can be served another option of the all you can eat items. The waitress literally pointed which sushi my guest didn't eat, as they went to order another option. Mind you, both of our rolls came on one plate, as if we were sharing. We did not like the fatty tuna with scallions, it was dry and very fishy. The spicy tuna which most places serve minced was more whole pieces, very different. Different is good, when it's flavorful, but this was missing it's punch. The kami salad was layered which was nice, but too much spicy mayo for the ratio, ask for your sauce on the side so you can mix it, since you mix it yourself anyway. The cucumber came layered under the crab, and the sauce on top, I actually liked that. The teas and soups were good, Dragon roll was my favorite, it was the shrimp tempura and salmon mixed. Try for yourself. It was a cute experience with good chocolate ice cream.

But with that said, my girl wanted some Indo Chinese.... so we made the trip here to see whether it's worth a second visit. Now, to be clear: the Rose is a Pan Asian Cuisine. So it's not necessarily just Indo Chinese, but it also encompasses flavors from all the other countries too. We ended up ordering 3 items in the following order: 1a: Gobi Manchurian 1b: Smoked Vegetable Sizzler 2: Mushroom Sautéed in Ginger Garlic We ordered the first two together and those arrived relatively quickly. The Gobi Manchurian was the better of the two, but I wonder if it was a bit too overpowered with spice and less of the sweet and sour taste (or even the soy sauce). The spice was a bit too overbearing. The sizzler was fine, but it was mostly onions and peppers. The tofu - while cooked fine - surprised me because it was like the silky ma po tofu (which coincidentally is what they serve here). In other words, the same tofu is repeated across multiple meals. I think the tofu needed to be pan fried at least for a sizzler. Because of the above, we didn't feel full and thought that the mushroom would provide a different taste pallet. Unfortunately, that was a miss as the mushroom had the same taste as the gobi manchurian, when it should've been infused with the ginger garlic. Additionally, the mushroom was way too overcooked so you couldn't even taste them either. It was like a crunchy mushroom. No good. To make things worse, the waiter, who also manned the front desk, seemed a bit too aloof at times. Often that meant not refilling water unless prompted and not providing the check on time or not even setting up the tables properly with silverware. It was a bit disappointing. This place has the potential, especially with the cute decor. But failed execution with the food and some lackluster service do not make this a place I'd recommend in the future.

Let me tell y'all something…read more.. I came to Sampan tonight as a party of one, and apparently being alone is the restaurant equivalent of showing up to a cookout without bringing a side dish. Now before I start, let me say this: I'm a huge fan of the owner. Matter of fact, I used to work for him part-time years ago. So writing this review feels like having to tell your favorite aunt that her potato salad got raisins in it. Nobody wants to do it, but the truth is the truth. The night started with them seating me at the prep station bar in the corner. Cool. No problem. I like my peace. I like my solitude. I like pretending I'm a food critic with important opinions. What I don't like is sitting there so long waiting for service that I started considering applying for a job. Nobody greeted me. Nobody checked on me. Nobody even looked concerned that I was aging in real time. When someone finally came over, my place setting wasn't complete. No napkin. No proper setup. Just vibes and uncertainty. I decided to do the chef's tasting because I wanted the full experience. Big mistake. That tasting menu moved faster than a church announcement after the pastor says, "We're running out of time." My server never asked if I'd been there before. Never explained anything. Never guided me through the menu. He was talking so fast I felt like I was taking the SATs. The ceviche was okay. Not bad. Not great. It was there. The cheesesteak bao had less flavor than the hold music at PECO. And here's where things got ridiculous. The bao was greasy enough to lubricate a transmission, and I realized I didn't even have a napkin. Now I'm sitting there looking like I just changed the oil in my car. So I had to flag down the host and ask for a napkin. At this point, I'm wondering if I'm on a hidden-camera show. The rest of the tasting menu showed up one plate at a time, and honestly, most of it was so forgettable I can't remember if I ate it or imagined it. But then... Like an angel descending from heaven... That bronzino arrived. Baby. Listen. That bronzino and those string beans saved the entire evening. That fish walked in like Martin rescuing Gina from another bad decision. Perfectly cooked. Flavorful. Beautiful. For a brief moment, I thought Sampan had turned this thing around. The pork chop was pretty good too. Then the kimchi fried rice came out and said, "Not so fast." Now I've had this dish before, and I know what it's supposed to taste like. Tonight? Absolutely not. I took one bite and immediately started looking around for the version I ordered. It was so disappointing I sent it back. And when dessert time came, I was emotionally unavailable. I declined. Respectfully. I was done. Look, maybe they had an off night. Maybe the staff was overwhelmed. Maybe dining solo just isn't their thing. I don't know. What I do know is that one heroic bronzino shouldn't have to carry an entire restaurant on its back like LeBron in Cleveland. The fish did everything it could. It fought hard. It deserved better teammates. Unfortunately, one MVP performance couldn't save the game. For me, this is probably my last visit.
