We started with (can't recall name) a ground chicken salad dish, it was the last menu item in the apps section. It was very good. We prefer a little more heat. My wife had lump crab Pad Thai special spice level 1; Delecious! Perfect heat! Love the Bean Curd & crushed peanuts mixed in. Gave it that crunch. Noodles were perfectly prepared, al denté. I had Green Curry with Chicken & rice spice level 2 (note to self...stick with level 1 as it is perfect & not overpoweringly spicy). The veggies were also perfect with an awesome crunch. Our waiter Beam knew it was our first time and recommended we not get the third dish we were going to share. The portions are huge and we would not have been able to eat it all! Placed an order for take out yesterday and all I can say is that I've found my new Thai restaurant in south jersey! The food was extremely fresh and the staff was extremely polite. I ordered the Masaman Curry with shrimp and chicken in mild. I should have gotten hot since the heat wasn't enough for me lol. I enjoyed the dish immensely and curry sauce had a bit of sweetness to it that made it perfect for roti. My friend ordered the Prad Prik Khing with beef in hot. The dish was absolutely delicious and the flavors were great. For desert I ordered the cream brûlée and it was only ok. The custard wasn't as sweet as I typically like it and the top layer of sugar wasn't crunchy, but soft. Maybe because the desert was prepared for takeout verses siting in and eating it. Excellent every time! I mostly go for lunch (which can get crowded at times) and its very delicious! My go to dish is the chicken drunken noodles with 2 chili heat. WOW, when you ask for spicy, they give it to you! Whenever I'm in the need for asian food, specifically thai, near my work area, I can always turn to Bhan Thai. Today I got the chicken pad kee mao for takeout. When I asked for extra spicy, she told me to choose on a scale of 1 to 5. I said 4...which we'll go into detail later. Unfortunately they have a $10 credit card minimum so I also ordered a pineapple juice for $3.00. The total came out to about $12.95 & they informed me it would be ready within 10 minutes. When I picked up my food, they had it bagged and ready. When I brought it back to the office to eat, I was really surprised by the pineapple juice - very tasty and fresh! The pad kee mao...OMG so delicious but so so so spicy! If you want Kylie Jenner lips, get a 4! But if you'd like to keep your digestive tract happy, stick with a 3 or below. read more

I LOVE BHAN THAI. I ate lunch here multiple times. All of the dishes are flavorful and jam packed with different veggies and other ingredients. I really enjoyed the chicken curry puff appetizer. My favorite dish is the pad ce-ew. It is full of flavor and the sauce is evenly distributed throughout. The drunken noodles is not bad, but I definitely prefer the pad ce-ew. The eggplant basil is pretty good too! My dad likes the spring rolls, but I don't think they're anything special (mostly just carrots and noodles inside). I would rather skip the appetizers and save room for the mango sticky rice as dessert. Not many Thai restaurants serve as big of a mango with the sticky rice anymore. And I love that they decorate the dish with strawberries too! I'm taking 1 star off because unfortunately, I got an upset stomach the 2 times I ordered curry dishes. It might be the milk or powder they're using? From other reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one who got an upset stomach. Bhan Thai, please PLEASEEE look into this! I love Thai curry, and yours were delicious. I don't won't to risk my stomach for it though :(. Also, dinner can be a bit expensive, so I highly recommend coming here for lunch. There's a plethora of lunch options in this strip, and I decided to go for chicken pad thai. It was absolutely delicious and tasted like my favorite place in Houston. The pad thai had the right kind of flavorful spice with lemongrass. The presentation was beautiful, and I think someone has posted a picture on here. The portion size was also decent. The pad thai comes with your choice of a salad or soup of the day. The soup was a "coconut soup." In my mind, this meant the soup was based on coconut milk, and I was right. It was delicious. It was warm and slightly sour with a twang - not overly sour - and you could definitely taste the different flavors within the soup. I finished it all. The pad thai, soup, and bottle of water cost $11.72 before tipping. Whoever is the head chef in the kitchen is doing something right. The person has an ability to bring out the best flavors of the simple ingredients used. Not many Thai places in NJ to rave about, but this place was great. Went here for lunch over the weekend and everything was pretty good. Husband got the lamb with green curry and the lamb was nice and juicy. They cooked it perfectly! I ended up getting the butternut squash soup and enjoyed it very much. The thai salad would have been great if the dressing wasn't so sweet and thick. Will definitely be back to try the Chu Chee duck. So, the boyfriend and I have been here a handful of times already. Ambiance and service is good, although service is sometimes slow when the place is packed. Great place for lunch, but even better for date night. I don't remember the pad thai (too wet), pad see ew, crab meat fried rice (a bit on the fishy side), tom yum soup (incredibly salty) or thai tea being that desirable, to be honest. The only things that are currently bringing me back are the imitation duck (yum), mee krob appetizer (fantastic crispy thin noodles with shrimp, sweet sauce, and lime), chicken curry puffs, $7.95, and, of course, the boyfriend with his favorite rack of lamb with green curry, $26.95. I'm still going to try everything on the menu possible that I can get with the imitation duck, so I'll be writing an updated review soon. Note: the imitation duck is NOT gluten-free. It's made out of wheat gluten, so those who are allergic to gluten definitely avoid the imitation duck. I'm sure everyone is not as picky as me, so you should be able to enjoy any of Bhan Thai's dishes, really. Just make sure you try the very moist rack of lamb with green curry, mee krob, and chicken curry puffs! Don't forget to squeeze the lime onto the mee krob! read more

This spot has been my go-to place during the COVID 19 crisis. The food is delish and they practice social distancing for pick up.

One of the better Thai places in the area. South Jersey does not have any Thai restaurant that I can brag about easily, but this one comes very close to my favorite Thai of all time (in Camp Hill, PA). I have dined here twice now and both times the food and service were very consistent. Thai Ice Tea - great. Pad Thai, Massaman Curry was good, and the Drunken Noodles. The Tom Kha soup had great flavor, but this past time was loaded with mushrooms. Maybe they were out of other veggies like peppers and tomatoes? Sticky rice with icecream was great too. The deserts are first class at Bhan Thai. So many Asian restaurants offer deserts as only an afterthought. Not here. At Bhan Thai, I recommend the Chocolate souffle or the outstanding Creme Brulee. Of course the Thai food is consistently good too. read more

Oh - and it's 6 miles from me! Very small quaint Thai restaurant. Decor is simple but nice. I feel like it could use a little something more just so you don't feel like you are on top of the people next to you. Some fabric or something to warm it up a bit?? Went there on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. We were served water and wine was poured within minutes - my kind of joint! Looking around - 2 of the four tables were people of Asian descent and when you see this - j just feel like its going to be good. Maybe not the most kosher thing to say but come on.. We all know its true. I had the mussels and the hub ha Marino shrimp to start. Ok - bam! We were sold. They were both insanely good. I was literally sipping the mussel broth like soup - wow! Next up seafood broiled special and my favorite- Masaman curry. When I say this food was amazing - I mean bangin! I was impressed. We love Thai and this place was in our back yard. Yum. One thing - my curry was missing the tomatoes and avocado - which really makes the dish....but it was so delicious that I forgot to say anything and really didn't want to insult them or even ask out of respect for the amazing food and service we had. For the main course, I had a drunken noodle and my fiancé had a spicy chicken (I forgot the name). They both were so yummy. We wanted to try their special menu Phuket wings and calamari salad. We split an appetizer for 2 with all of us, and also had some spring rolls which were really tasty. I had the Choo Chee Duck and asked for spicy. They came back with scale of 1-5 and I said 4. It was spot on with the right amount of heat to my liking requiring a bunch of water to go with it. My wife had salmon which was also very good. The kids split chicken with noodles, but although there was nothing wrong with the dish my kids were not adventurous enough to like it and instead it came home with us for my lunch the next two days. They instead went with a very basic white rice and something else. Cost $80+ for the 4 of us. Service was attentive and nice. read more

Tried takeout from here after reading rave reviews. Honestly we were disappointed. It was very generic Thai food. Nothing spectacular. We ordered delivery and they forgot our spring rolls. When I called to tell them that, the lady asked if I can take a credit for next time as the solution. After asking to speak with the manager we were able to get the rest of our order delivered. Along with an appetizer, the entrees here were large enough to share with a friend. We both had the combo appetizer for $15 and it was a little of everything. There was a curry puff, which was my friend's favorite, chicken satay, 4 veggie spring rolls and 2 more fried rolls. I like the chicken satay because the chicken was moist and went best with the peanut dipping sauce, my favorite sauce out of the four. The room is cramped but manageable. It was also busy but we walked in and had no problem getting a seat for two. The service was on point considering how busy they were. Bhan Thai is a byob which is awesome. As for our entree, we went with something a little more healthy and there are quite a few choices if that's what you're going for. Try the sautéed entree with your choice of meats, we went with chicken and a pad cashew nut. Along with rice, the meal included mushrooms, bell peppers, cashews, snow peas and celery. There were a few chillies if you're not into anything spicy at all. Our dinner was pretty good but I have had better Thai. Amazing food! We called and asked them to deliver, they said they don't normally deliver to our area but would - and we are so glad that they did! It came piping hot; we got the Panang Curry with chicken, spring rolls, and Tom Kha soup and the tropical duck curry. I've never given 5 stars but Bhan Thai deserves it. Been eating here for 15 years and I'll admit, I think the quality HAD gone down for about three years. That was the old place. Even the staff seemed down. NOW they've moved into the new, hip feeling location and things have changed! The food is now BETTER than EVER, the staff is energized and happy, and the experience overall is outstanding!! We now drive 65 miles round trip to get this!
