I stopped in for what I hoped would be a reasonably quick lunch. Starting with the food - I had a mango lassi, butter chicken, and garlic naan... all standard stuff for an Indian restaurant. It was all as expected, meaning, good. Every once in a while I have Indian food that is clearly wanting, seldom does one stand out as amazing, so this one fits comfortably in the "good" lane. Serving size was large, and there were nice big pieces of chicken. Solid 4 for food. Service needs an awful lot of improvement. I was the only one in the restaurant and I ordered my drink right away. Then two other people got seated. I'll mention h the language barrier now. My parents are immigrants, so I'm better than average a dealing with non-native speakers. It started with an attempt to order a Mic-Ultra by the other table and that resulted in the server needing to get someone else from the back. Then there was an awful lot of attention given to these people, not really their fault that I can tell, just a lot of him walking back and forth and trying to understand each other. 10min later and I'm still waiting to order. My three items shouldn't have been hard, but there was a little bit of back and forth with some apparent confusion on what I wanted, so again the language thing. Food took pretty long considering I was the first one to order anything. After I finished I waited for a while, but then needed to flag the server over. I asked for the check, a box, and a bit more rice to take home. I ended with a box. After another 10min or so I went to the counter, asked some other guy for my check. He got my server, who walked out of the back room with his phone still playing videos. Then it took three of them another 5-10min to get the card reader to work. They told me the first swipe didn't work, so they started over and I then swiped again. On my drive back to work I saw the two charges pop, both had gone through. In conclusion, food is good but average Indian. The rest of it is a train wreck. read more

Had been really looking forward to a first chance to try Bayleaf, and ended up a little disappointed. Chicken Tikka - the sauce had a nice flavor, and ordering spicy was a really perfect level of heat for me. But in a pretty good sized bowl there were only 3 small bites of chicken and a few pieces of onion. It was literally all sauce. Perhaps they're trying to keep prices lower. Just know when you order, you're really ordering a nicely flavored sauce to pour on some rice and naan. The Chicken 65 was fun small pieces of seasoned fried chicken. By itself, ordered medium, it was pretty bland. But tossing some of the 65 into the tikka really helped fill out the tikka, so all in all the two dishes worked out. Chicken briyani got a very good review, a huge portion that made for a big dinner and a large lunch the next day. Naan made a good addition to both the tikki and biryani. Overall we won't rush to revisit, but giving them a benefit of an extra star because they're clearly the best Indian in Spring Hill. read more

I recently got takeout from Bayleaf and my first impression was so good! From the moment I stepped through the doors, the people were super friendly and welcoming. We had the malai kofta -- ummmm, I could the curry/gravy by the spoonful -- and the chicken manchurian. Hint: I love spicy food, and the chicken manchurian at medium spice level was sufficient for my taste buds. Would I go back? Definitely. The owners are so nice and the food is so delicious. Everything I've tried on the menu and I've been here at least six times has been fabulous. I haven't tried the lunch buffet yet but I hear it's delicious as well. The only thing is it's spicy so if you don't like spicy, make sure you tell them Maybe less than one because I feel like they have a pretty heavy hand when it comes to the heat. I have been to Bayleaf a few times and the first few times. It was a very positive experience. The food was good. The service was good. About the fourth visit, the quality of the food was as good as it had been in the past. I went to the lunch buffet and many of the dishes containing chicken, had the bones in them. Even the chicken tikka masala had bones which I complained about to a woman who appeared to be either the chef or the manager. I ordered takeout this week and the vegetable pakora was greasy and cold when I picked it up. Heating it in the microwave didn't do it any good. It also did not come with any side sauces. The chicken tikka masala again was not hot and not nearly as tasty as it had been in the restaurant. I think the restaurant is still good but Indian food should be eaten as soon as it's made rather than ordered to go and take an elsewhere and eaten. I will continue to try this restaurant as it was very good the first couple of times and I think they deserve a chance. I just won't order to go again. read more

Absolutely delicious Indian food, we had the Sunday buffet and I was delighted to see many gluten free options from appetizers to desert. The staff is friendly and the only reason I couldn't give atmosphere 5 stars is because the music videos on the TV screens had some less than family friendly elements. Definitely the best Indian food in Spring Hill! Worth checking out and if you are new to Indian food I highly recommend going on a Sunday for the buffet as it had well over 15 different selections. read more

Just had a delicious dinner and tried a couple amazing desserts. Our server,Anu, was incredible. She helped us navigate the menu and made perfect recommendations. Madras Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat curry were all fantastic. They will adjust the heat to your taste. Go light if you're afraid!! The naan is heavenly. I really enjoyed the CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA! Tasted like fresh spices, and the chicken was tender and juicy. I ordered between mild and medium spicy, and that was about right for me, enough to make my eyes water just a little. My husband ordered the SAAG CHICKEN, and that was very flavorful as well. I looked forward to trying this restaurant, we went last week to the buffet, arriving at 11:30. Buffet had limited offerings, and was not well presented. The dishes that had chicken w sauces had very little meat , mostly sauce. Bear in mind we arrived at opening. Flavors, atmosphere, was basically a "meh". I give it a 5 out of 10. The bill for 3 people was $60+ with tip- we drank water, not appetizers or desserts. Not impressed. Delicious food! We ordered the chili chicken from the appetizer menu, samosas, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. All were great but the chili chicken was amazing. All dishes were perfectly cooked and the chicken was tender. The samosas came with a mint chutney which was a perfect compliment. Service was great and everyone was pleasant and friendly.
