We visited Frankie's Pizza and Grill on a Friday night after a long week, hoping to unwind. We started outside near the one-man band, which set a really nice atmosphere at first. Unfortunately, a large party of baseball kids sat near us shortly after, and things got pretty loud -- not the restaurant's fault at all, but we ended up asking to move inside for a quieter meal. Once inside, our waiter (an older gentleman) was attentive and sweet the whole night, which was much appreciated. We ordered the lasagna and a pizza -- the lasagna was good, but the pizza was just so-so. Overall, a mixed experience. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I honestly wasn't expecting to be this impressed. I want to start by recognizing our server, Ema. When I first saw how young she was, I assumed she might not have much experience. I couldn't have been more wrong. As someone who has managed restaurants and trained servers myself, I can confidently say that Ema is one of the best servers I've encountered. This restaurant is very lucky to have her. She was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She knew the menu inside and out, explained dishes clearly, made excellent recommendations, and never missed a beat throughout our visit. Great service can make or break a dining experience, and Ema absolutely elevated ours. Now let's talk about the food. The calamari was, without question, the freshest and best calamari I have ever eaten. I've had calamari in many restaurants over the years, and this one was on another level. Perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. Honestly, it was so good that I would recommend this place for the calamari alone. We also ordered the Mushroom Pizza and the Smoky Chicken BBQ Pizza. Both were excellent, but the Mushroom Pizza was my personal favorite. The flavors were outstanding, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the pizza was cooked perfectly. From the service to the food and the overall atmosphere, everything exceeded our expectations. Wow what a find! We went here for a friends bday dinner and loved it!!! We ended up sitting outside and it was beautiful!!! I had the Cajun chicken pasta and still dream about it. And don't get me started on the truffle fries.... Chefs kiss. I also enjoyed one of their mocktails and it was really well made. The only thing I'd say is we sat for a while before a server came to take care of us. Not sure if it was super busy inside or somewhere but our server was super nice... just took a while to get things like silverware and our check. Wonderful local Italian restaurant. I've had their regular pizza and now they're gluten free. The regular pizzas are quite special - can't go wrong here but the mushroom pizza was fantastic! Today I tried the Gluten Free (not the cauliflower) pizza and it was pretty good as far as GF goes. Crispy/crunchy bottom and crust and very fresh ingredients. It's a pretty small pizza (10") for the price ~$25 before tax once I added toppings but very delicious! read more

We've had Frankie's Pizza before and have always loved it -- especially when it's well done. The pizza is delicious and definitely one of our favorites in the area. Our waitress was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and very professional. Unfortunately, the chicken parm was disappointing this time. It was burnt, and the sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce straight from a can with just a few tiny pieces of parsley on top. Also, the owner came out eating a slice of pizza while bringing our food, which felt a bit unprofessional. It also wasn't very nice that they only agreed to take the chicken parm off the bill if we returned it to the kitchen. Mistakes happen, but that approach didn't leave the best impression. As an Italian from Rhode Island and a big-time foodie who manufactures my own homemade pasta sauce, I really appreciate authentic, well-made Italian food -- so this experience fell short of expectations. Traveling through Spring Hill and stayed next door at Best Western. Went to Frankie's for a quick bite after traveling all day. Ordered a pizza because the hostess said it only takes 15-20 minutes and it's absolutely deliciou, so I took her word. HUGE MISTAKE! 40 minutes later my "pizza" came and I use that term loosely. Zero fresh ingredients. All jar veggies, Hormel style pepperonI, mushrooms were dried to the form of jerky, banana peppers were not dried prior to cooking so entire pizza was a wet napkin. Being the 'new kids on the block' in the Springhill/Columbia, Tn area, the red brick building made this interesting but the Delicious authentic Italian pizza made this a favorite. The style reminded my husband and I of our time in Positano, Italy. We sat on the outdoor patio enjoying the late afternoon breeze and spring sunset. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Such a great local Italian place! Located in Spring Hill, this small restaurant is always busy. The servers are amazing, never make you feel rushed, and are attentive & friendly. We love sitting in the outdoor patio area, but indoors is cozy as well. We took our daughter there as a "date night" & enjoyed two different pasta dishes (one a gnocchi pesto, the other gluten-free pasta with Alfredo), while my husband had a steak. Really enjoyed our dining experience there this evening. Customer service was personable, attentive and went out of her way to be helpful. She even went as far as finding me a pair of readers so I could read the menu . Melody was fantastic! Food was delicious and scratch made. The bread and herb butter was delicious to start and the fried raviolis were just right for a couple. Pizza was fresh and the combos they had were different than other local places. First time dining here was a date night. It was packed for a Tuesday, but afterwards I could understand why. This place gave 'european' in terms of vibe - the lighting, the loudness, the layout (iykyk). Our wait wasn't long and we were seated in the small bar area, which was fine as it was a bit quieter and more intimate. The service was good from hostess to our server & bartender. The food was great. Star was the bruschetta! We've been back a few times and ordered pickup. We try different entrees each time and so far haven't been disappointed (except for the fried seafood platter we got during the annual pop-up which is their defense they had sold out of what we actually wanted), but we get the bruschetta every time. The best part about getting it to-go...the package it separately so the toast isn't soggy from sitting under the toppings. And it seems like there is just more of it. It's so good it's inspired to try making our own. It came out good, but we both agreed Frankie's is better. Don't know what it is about that simple dish, but they do it better than any I've tried elsewhere. Anyway I digress - Frankie's is great. We're from out of town but when we're here we always love to go to Frankie's. We went this evening and were VERY disappointed! Our favorite menu item (an entree with angel hair pasta, artichoke, asparagus and chicken in a cream sauce) had been removed from the menu. I chose eggplant parm and really didn't enjoy it at all. The service was fair at best. I'll be checking to see if my favorite entree returns to the menu. If not, I won't be back! read more

Overall enjoyed my first experience! There were a few issues, definitely, but I would give them another chance. My parents ordered the Spring Hill pizza, I ordered the grilled asparagus and prosciutto salad with blackened shrimp, and we shared the traditional bruschetta to start. Bruschetta: the tomato topping was tops! Really flavorful and enjoyable. Unfortunately while the bread had grill marks on it, it was cold to the point it tasted as though they pre-loaded it and it was sitting in a fridge with the tomatoes on it for hours. Very soggy and unenjoyable. I ended up just eating the tomatoes and discarding the bread. Salad: presented awkwardly, but good flavors. Blackened shrimp seasoning was killer, fantastic flavor!! But the shrimp itself was rubbery and slightly over cooked. Balsamic dressing tasted like a bottle dressing which is unfortunate, but fine enough. Pizza: didn't try it, but my parents said it was great. Many other delicious sounding items on the menu, so will happily give them another go -- just won't ever order shrimp again. Please don't pre-load the bruschetta, grilled bread toasty and warm is best. Maybe you were busy, but it is simply not the way to do it. read more
