What an amazing experience here!! The waiter was so so nice and helpful. He overheard my mom say she wondered what saffron looked like and went back in the kitchen to bring a brand new sealed container of it to show her! Then he overheard her tell me to try her soup and asked if we wanted another bowl to put some in it. The food was really tasty and definitely worth it!! I got the chicken vindaloo and I have to warn those who don't have a high spice tolerance - beware. It's definitely got a good kick to it!! The vegetable samosas were very fresh and hot, so good! My mom loved her soup as well. Lastly, can't go wrong with some rosemary naan! When we were waiting to check out, the waiter told us he was bringing us each a complimentary dessert- it was like a doughnut! I've never had such a friendly and generous waiter before! He even went in the back to get me some extra rice to put with my leftovers! Overall, my experience here was very exceptional and I would 100% come back when I'm in the area. 10/10 recommend you try this restaurant!!

This is my first time here. Nebula Trip has been craving Indian food so we decided to try something new. For our drinks , we are each having a glass of Sauvignon Cabernet . What's odd here is the wine bottles are located in the host area. See the 6 bottles of wine? That's the bar. They use cloth napkins and metal utensils so that's a plus. Obviously, they do not have a liquor license for hard liquors. The music is clearly Indian. For our first item, we are each having a soup . I am trying the Mulligatawny soup made with puréed lentils, pears , apples , carrots , broccoli and coconut milk . My friend (Boomer) is having the Rasam with shrimp . It is made with tomatoes , cilantro , garlic and tamarind. It's quite good ! It's a little spicy and very hot . It's a good serving size too! Tamarind is a leguminous tree bearing edible fruit that is indigenous to tropical Africa and naturalized in Asia. For our first starter, we are trying the Assorted Chicken Kebabs made with mint, cilantro, black pepper, garlic and tandoori spices. These are tasty! There are three types of "kebabs" here. Next up, we are trying the 65 (Dry) which is made with made with green chilies, curry leaves and ginger . We are also having a little cauliflower, broccoli and mushroom mixed in there. This is quite good ! It has a unique taste. It has some kick too. Next up, we are trying the Jeedipappu Kodi Pakodi made with chicken , cashews, curry leaves and chilies . These are like fried chicken bites. Yummy ! For my entree, I'm having the Vindaloo (boneless lamb) made with a spicy goan sauce, garlic and potatoes (which are optional). For his entree, Boomer is having the Bharwan Mushroom made with cheese , dry fruits and a "spicy" stuffing. Goan (as opposed to "groan" without the "r"!), it's an aromatic curry with a blend of spices, garlic, ginger and onion along with fresh tomato and coconut. For my dessert , I am trying a one-of-a-kind Gulab Jamun Brûlée. I have NEVER heard of a fusion of gulab jamun and creme brûlée. Gulab jamun (lit. 'Rose water berry' or 'Rose berry') is a sweet confectionary or dessert, originating in the Indian subcontinent and a type of mithai popular in India, Pakistan, Nepal, the Maldives and Bangladesh, as well as Myanmar. It is also common in nations with substantial populations of people with South Asian heritage, such as Mauritius, Fiji, Gulf states, the Malay Peninsula, Great Britain, South Africa, and the Caribbean countries of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, and Suriname. Crème brûlée or crème brulée (also known as burnt cream or Trinity cream), and virtually identical to crema catalana, is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a layer of hardened caramelized sugar. It is normally served slightly chilled; the heat from the caramelizing process tends to warm the top of the custard, while leaving the center cool. The custard base is generally flavored with vanilla in French cuisine, but can have other flavorings. It is sometimes garnished with fruit. This is unique to the place. Boomer is having the "non-assorted" Gajar (carrot) made with various fruits, veggies, grains, nut and lentils. The creme brûlée is an interesting combo of the two! These are both really good !

Spicy, and authentic tasting south indian food. One of the most underrated indian restaurants in CT.

One of my best friends from college was in town, so naturally I knew to take her to Bhog after the wonderful Yelp elite event I'd gone to here. I'm happy to report that they have 150% customer service all the time, and genuinely want you to enjoy your meal. We had martinis and sparkling wine drinks, and filled up on delicious rice, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. Literally, I told them again, if they ever make too much naan and want to get rid of it, I live across the street and they can just drop it off in my mailbox. Or delivered to my front door. It's the one that always has the super cute wreaths on it for all holidays. Luckily the weather is getting colder so ohhhhh darn, I'm going to need some piping hot food from here after shoveling snow. Love love love love Bhog!

After experiencing such a fantast Yelp event the week before I was able to drop into Bhog and try their lunch buffet. What a deal at $10.99 with a basket of bread on my table. The buffet was fresh and had a lot of variety including two desserts. My server was fantastic, attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant seems to be a popular lunch spot with local business people. I really returned to have more of the Kale Sprouts but with so much on the buffet that would have been crazy. Next time!

I was hearing rave reviews about Bhog, since more than an year from many of my friends. Somehow I missed the fact that this place got opened in a location in Rocky Hill where it was Paradise Biriyani point before. It was a long weekend Monday when I stopped by this place to try their lunch buffet. As it was a holiday they had their weekend buffet and it was so satiating experience which blew my mind. That prompted us to visit the place the very next week again to try their ala- carte and it was damn disappointing. I still visited the place on a few more weekends for the lunch buffet most of it were consistent with my previous buffet experience but lately, I feel they have reduced the number of items on their buffet. I want to go back to the place to try their ala carte menu to see if my experience can be better.

Kale Sprouts. They have a "unique" look but taste VERY good and the sprouts themselves on top offer a pleasant surprise to them.

Went here for a YELP event. This place is beautifully set up and right in a plaza on a main drag in Rocky Hill. This was my first experience with Indian cuisine and this place may of very well set up a bar. They have an extensive menu with some very unique takes on what I understand are popular Indian dishes. Also, the chef has experimented and come up with some really delicious alternatives as well. I had the luck and honor of trying a good portion of menu. My recommendations for a night at BHOG Apps: - Kale sprouts (these were fried leaf of Kale, topped with Kale sproutlings. Those sproutlings have an excellent flavor) - Motia Kabab (spicy seared/blackened chicken) - Shrimp Balchoa Bruschetta (breaded and glazed shrimp with garnish - a shrimp version IMO of a General Tsao's) Dishes - Veinchina Mamsam Lamb (was very tender and juicy) - Goan Salmon Curry (cubed Salman bites covered in orange/red sauce. Salmon fell apart in mouth without much chewing) - Garlic & Goat Cheese Naan (Nice handheld quesidilla/pita bread/cheese mix. Cheese is very delicious and has standout flavor) Desserts - Galub Jamun Creme Brulee (features little sugar balls that are softened inside Creme Brulee. Nice pleasant surprise with each bite and it is beautifully presented to you when your served it. The staff was very attentive and helpful. If you are looking for a very good place to have Indian food in the area, I strongly recommend get your taste buds on some options at BHOG in Rocky Hill.

Wonderful dinner at a beautiful space. Very classy yet warm and family friendly. Our food was rich and flavorful, my favorite was the paneer tikka masala. I went with my fiancé who is allergic to tree nuts and the staff were very accommodating. They make the food to order so I suggest ordering an appetizer to munch on. This restaurant may be impacted by the covid staffing shortage as there was only one waiter and he played the host and bus boy as well. We left a good tip!

Well, the excitement to dine at Bhog has been there since the day they opened. I finally made it for a weekend buffer upon a friends recommendation about the variety of dishes and the taste. Was I thrilled seeing the buffet spread, yes. Did the taste of the food keep the excitement alive, No because all of the dishes were very spicy to my liking. Dishes does not have to be spicy to make it tasteful, flavors make the taste and I could not get the flavors because of the level of spice. A couple of dessert items were unique and good. I will definitely like to come back here and try the Al a Carte menu and revisit my review.

I like this place the spice level in the food items I tried was perfect not overpowering at all. The goat dish was perhaps the best I've had anywhere, tender and beautifully seasoned. The chicken dishes I sampled were tender and nicely flavored, pekoras were also some of the best I have had. The customary naan was excellent far better than most and the Bhatura I ordered was outstanding. I will be sure to drop in again when I am in that area as this little resto has merit!

They start you out with a cold ice water. For my first drink, I'm having the Old Fashioned made with Four Roses Bourbon, simple syrup, a dash of bitters (2-3 for me) and garnished with an orange and a Maraschino cherry. This isn't bad. It's balanced pretty well. It could be a bit more chilled. I would recommend stirring it with a bar spoon. For an appetizer, I am trying the Sabjiplatter which is an assortment of vegetable fritters including eggplant (Bhujia's), potato, onion, spinach and cauliflower which come with tamarind and mint sauces. This is good! I love those sauces! For our second appetizer, we are having the Utsav Kebab Platter made with a blend of Tandoori kebabs, chicken tikka, chicken malai, kalmi kebab and shrimp tikka. These are good! Dip them in the sauces. They can be a bit dry. For out next appetizer, we are having the Papadum With Chutney which is toasted lentils crispy and flattened with onion chutney, tamarin and mint sauce. I love that onion chutney! For my soup, I'm having the Thakkali Rasam. This is a spicy South Indian hot and sour thin soup made with garlic, tamarind, herbs and spices. It's hot, spicy, tastes a little oily and has a few dried red pepper flosters. I love it! For my salad, I'm having the Garden Salad made with fresh cut rounds of cucumber, carrots, onions, tomato, and carrot served with Olive oil and Chat Masala. This thing is huge! I love the dressing! For my entree, I'm having the Goat Mamsun Koora which is goat meat n bone cooked on roasted coconut peanut masala with hot chilies, ginger, garlic and curry leaves. This is delicious! It's quite couch too!!For my second drink, I'm having a Proper Manhattan made with High West Double Rye, equal parts sweet and dry vermouth, a dash of bitters and garnished with a cherry. Very good! It's served in a martini glass! This is well balanced and chilled! What a great meal here!

Good Indian fare, nice owners, still needs work on the interior…read more Came here for a dinner trek. There was a noodle shop right next door that was okay, and we wanted to give this new place a try as well. The inside is sparse and still rough with construction. The space use to be a açaí bowl location, and they still had some of the signs and decor from that location here. There's also some ripped up flooring and exposed piping in the middle of the floor. Don't plan on dining in unless you can handle some rough corners. The chef/owner was nice but shy, the wife was much more extroverted and very kind. The chef took the order, the wife took care of the interactions and check ins. Missus really enjoyed interfacing with the lady, she enjoys supporting the local businesses that go in with passion. We got the chicken 65, samosa chaat, and chicken khorma. Food came out steadily, and we dug in. The samosa chaat was good. Spiced lightly, but good flavor. The samosa was slightly cold in the middle, but the flavors were there. The chicken 65 was also lightly seasoned but the chicken crisp and tender. Needed a dipping sauce to impart some extra spice. The portion was large and well done. The chicken khorma was great. Tender chicken thigh with a nutty creamy sauce with a little spice. The highlight of our meal. We also got naan, garlic and peshwari. The garlic was good, very garlic forward but the naan seemed to be very thin. There was a lot of rips and holes through the 4 pieces we got. We also got the peahwari naan, which was little light on the filling but has the right flavors. Pricing was reasonable, especially given the quality vs the portion. It's not a dine-in location as of yet, but the food is perfect for to-go. It's good Indian done well, needs to work on the spice level of their dishes but it's ideal for those who don't like heat.
