I went to the Carhartt store (15 min ago) at Cascade Station to buy a pair of overalls clearly tagged at $89. When I pulled up my 15% military discount, the cashier bumped the price up to $99 and then applied the discount--meaning I paid about the same as the tagged price. When I questioned it, I was told the item was "mismarked" and "that's just the way it is." The tag wasn't temporary or handwritten, it was the permanent price tag. Carhartt Store in Cascade station near the PDX airport. Associates are very friendly and walking around seeing if you need any help. Prices are a little high, but the quality of pants is what we shop for: Husband is a plumber and these save his life from the nasty. We go with the 'double front' style and They last very long with constant use until they are too heavy with product caked on. You can't find the same with Dickies or other 'heavy duty' pants. I have a few pairs of my own, too! The only downside is this place opens at 11am on Sundays (10am M-Sat) and the amount of people that attempted to go in, they should have earlier hours. read more

Ordered just over 1,500 dollars in jackets on line from there 800 number. Paid for 3 day shipping and on day 4. They say I should get the item october 24 which would be day 7. Tried calling customer service and couldn't get anyone that spoke English well enough to understand. Ask for a supervisor and was on hold 22min before I finally gave up. Tried live chat and no one available. This company is supposed to have some great jackets and customer service. The customer service is absolutely terrible. Problem: cannot seem to connect with customer service. When I called, I hung up because I could not understand the agent. In no way was I going to talk with agent that I could not understand (been there done that and the process was long and painful). I am still waiting on the email I sent them an hour ago. I texted their 800 number as per their instructions but received no reply. The Carhartt website claims they respond quickest when using the 800 number to text. I love Carhartt products and was excited to trade in an item so I could buy another gently used item online. There were so many employees standing around talking and the guy doing my item assessment seemed unhelped by his co-workers and thusly was ... kinda a jerk to me. Mostly just rude, acted like I was trash on the sidewalk. I was pretty surprised, I'd gone to the CH store in dt Seattle years ago and had a diff experience. I know covid has changed things, and likely minimim wage retail workers aren't gonna be stoked but... I'm a customer service worker too and I felt really put off. Their selection of clothes was super limited. Their women's clothes were like, a tiny corner in the whole store. Every single item being tied down and needing assistance to try on was super weird too. I was polite but when I asked the employees about more sizing (I grew out of my old coat), they were helpful but seemed nervous and generally just unenthused... and even confused. I was SO excited to try on a CH coat to figure out my new size before ordering online and left feeling creeped out and really like my business wasn't wanted. This store is just straight up not friendly for women. There are no options for women-there's a wall full of men's pants but only one style for women. Yes, one style of women's pants in the whole store. The dressing rooms are also see through. My coworker and I tested them and he was able to see me fully through the glass. When I informed the worker about this she just laughed, which is concerning. I know it sounds like a joke, but I am dead serious when I say that the doors are see through. The Portland store needs to get all employees on the same page. This isn't a cheap product so at least decent customer service is expected I had an order, which apparently was sent in two separate packages but together! But I read minds right. She arrived and the guy didn't even bother to look at the order number, he must be a genius to memorize such a long number. Came back with one thing, my mother stated there were two items. He said no..... then said oh do you have an order number, she said yes......basically he called my mom a liar and said it wasn't there yet. I called twice and nothing. I've only been to two Carhartt stores, but they're a winner compared to other retailers that sell Carhartt (like Coastal and Cascade, among others.) Carhartt sells the tall sizes in everything, which is a bonus because a lot of stores make you order tall sizes online. They were enforcing social distancing, and there were discounts galore. As I heard it, this was the first Carhartt retail store that was opened to test the market. Since it's opening, I've been here many times. Every time I go in I find something that I want or a gift for someone else. It's a great shop for Christmas or birthday gifts, and the selection can be very good if you are there at the right time. Styles are rotating fast, so I suggest you snag an item if you see it in your size and think you might like to get it. There is no guarantee that they will get it back in stock if it is gone when you come back. I like the accessories and soaps that are sold at the front of the store. There are some nice smelling items to keep you smelling fresh as well as looking good and feeling good in your new Carhartt gear. I also love all the new colors they have been coming out with. This store is near the PDX airport and the IKEA and many other shops, so you can get a lot done when you make the trip to the Cascade Station Carhartt Store. read more

This is the working man's clothing store. The stuff is built like a tank and appears it can survive anything a person will throw at it. I found Men's Washed Double Front Dungaree reminded of the Sear's Husky jeans I wore a child, built to last. The clothing here is designed be tough and last. Triple stitches and thick material. If a person is after outdoor working clothing, this is the place to get it. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even told me that there are pads designed for the Double Front pants. Basically the pad slides in between the two layers of denim fabric. Pretty cool. read more

I don't know why men in original tan Carhartt look so good but they do. Maybe it's something from my childhood. Walked in to get a pair of pants. I'm a lady and like to work outside, paint and seem to ruin pants pretty quickly. Their female selection is a joke to real working conditions, but it's there. I fit the smallest size in men's pants which sit better than women's cuts and aren't just for "lady fashion" (yeah, wut?) like their women's line. I'm sorry to crap on it so much but come on Carhartt, you can do better there. Got great help from the seasonal staff. Helped me figure out which cut and size.
