A Korean fusion version of Chipotle! I dig it - you can choose whatever toppings you prefer or opt for their pre-set items (which run a little more expensive). All the meat is cooked on the grill in front of you and tasted pretty fresh. They have a very large variety of veggies and toppings, and they'll give you unlimited veggie toppings! They have all the ingredients to make a very personalized bi bim bap bowl. This is definitely Korean fusion, though (read: Americanized Korean food) so don't expect Annandale-quality tastes. This place is also no Bourbon Steak, but for what it is... healthy quick serve/fast food essentially.., it's really pretty good. I saw Seong Hyun M. (a reviewer), he's the owner or staff! but after I mentioned this in my review, he has since taken down his cheesy review. I recognize him because he walked in with groceries through the customer entrance putting things away. I walked in to this new find, the owner? claimed it was some sort of soft opening, what's that? I liked the interior, very clean with plenty of seating along the back wall. The layout wasn't well thought out. I walked in to other customers ordering, choosing their toppings, and paying. It was my first time there and I was already confused with their layout. If ever this place begins to pick up and get busy, the layout will cause confusion and a traffic jam. The staff was welcoming and warm, but seemed there was a lack of knowledge to their own menu and what was available. They opened the place and their whole menu was not available, about 20% of what was on their screens were available. They have an open cooking area, where you can see your food being prepared. They have a nice grill that they are not using, instead are reusing the same pan for cooking meats. That is unfortunate because they weren't ready to open to the public IMO. The food was good, it's fast food, nothing fancy, I'm pretty sure it will accommodate different diets. The chicken and beef pieces were bland with no taste and rather very big. I've had bibimbop and my share of chipotle bowls before and you usually get most of your ingredients in one spoon, but here you have to eat everything separately. The vegetables and other toppings were large. They offer three different sauces to spread or dip. I decided to dip, but again, the meat and toppings were too large to enjoy together. You have to use the sauces or your food will be tasteless and bland. The trash cans they have are the big silver bins with lids. Lids? I don't know if I want to touch the lids that everyone has touched, just to throw away my trash. VERY inconvenient and you just never know these days. They offer free cold and hot water from a dispenser, and that is also used by everyone because not many order drinks with water being free. Will I return? This place used to be a five-star but has gone downhill. The menu is much more limited (they no longer have a build your own bowl) and the portions are smaller probably because of inflation. This is a great new addition to the area!! The popcorn chicken in the bowl was super crispy and tasty. Portions were also very generous. I had it with the sweet potato noodles which were nicely seasoned with sesame oil. You can choose from many ingredients when having your bowl constructed. The place is exceptionally clean and has a comfy bright interior that feels good. Prices are some of the most reasonable in the Rosslyn/Courthouse area. Excellent! From the name, I thought the food would be heavy because the shop name evokes images of bibimbop which is usually a heavy hearty dish. I was so looking forward to trying this place based on the reviews. Maybe it was what I ordered, but the traditional bim bim bap consisted on vegetables that had been sitting out all day and an egg that was way over cooked on top of luke warm rice. There were also none of the unique vegetables that make the dish so amazing- no doraji and no gosari. I guess it's why another reviewer called it American Korean food. The tofu was also just cooked on a grill with vegetable oil. For $14 I could have made a much better meal myself. Oh well. read more

After seeing all the glowing reviews of Bibimix, we were excited to check it out (it is in our building). However, what we read and what we experienced really could not be more different. We arrived at opening and they were out of many of the ingredients that make up their standard bowls, including lettuce... so rice or spinach were the only options. As for the individual ingredients, they tasted as if they were the left over ingredients from the night before. On the positive side, their gochujang and yum yum sauce (a creamy tomato sauce) were very tasty. I think in a pinch, I might give Bibimix a second chance, but there are so many other great options in the area and that just might not happen. read more

Love the concept of Bibimbap made into fast food (so to speak). Super fresh and flavorful, you can pick and choose any proteins and vegetables to create your bibimbap bowl. Looks like they just opened and still ironing out some kinks at the register. But otherwise the staff is super friendly and will guide through the ordering process. I was really excited for this place to open up since there are no korean options in Arlington. 1st time we went we got the korean spicy bowl which I'm guessing is their interpretation of bibimbap. It was good except they used chicken instead of traditional beef (I'm guessing you can substitute). The gochujang sauce was way too sweet and not spicy enough. I wish they offered a less watered down version and call it extra spicy or something. Next time I went back we got the chicken. Of course you need to compare to Bonchon. I still prefer Bonchon. The way they do it is they fry the chicken then drizzle the sauce on it after. This did 2 things. 1, sauce is unevenly distributed on the chicken and 2, where sauce was on the chicken was not crispy. Bonchon is crispy with the sauce on. It comes with a side and the sucky part was it was all in 1 box. They could've separated the chicken from fries so there's no "crossover". And the blasphemy is that they don't give you radish! Hopefully they keep evolving. Will try again though! read more

Easy pick up from the store which was nice. My partner got a noodle bowl which was okay, and the kimchi pancake was pretty nice. The bibimbap was dreadful. The egg was complete rubber, the rice tasted and looked like day old rice (clumpy and cold, even though we picked it up at the time it told us to), the "bulgogi" was just some hunks of meat with no marinade (at least not any that I could taste). We also got a cucumber pickle item, which I usually absolutely adore, but somehow this one was slimy, wet, and cold in a really bad way and we had to throw it out. Will not be going back. read more

Freakin' delicious!!!! I'm 1/2 Korean and am shocked how yummy, fresh, and authentic this casual place is (better than the majority of the much more formal restaurants in Annandale I've been to). Tremendous value. My favorites are the Kimchi Stew and Kimchi Fried Rice (so flavorful I forgo the extra sauce). Another great take on fast casual. This place is similar in concept to Bibibop (Korean food) but with so many more options! I made my own spicy chicken bowl; the meat was cooked to order and I had many delicious and fresh toppings to choose from.
