Unless you live in the area, Bibo Bar is out of the way. 11 miles North of I-40, an hour outside Albuquerque, this hundred year old tavern is an underrated gem in an area that, these days, few pass through. Parking on the side of the building, I walk around to the front of the establishment. The door is heavy but swings easily to reveal a long room with tables and a bar. The wood floors and walls frame a scene full of decorations and a bar stocked with liquor. The food is cheap here and the beer is priced nicely too. I started with a Dos Equis but also ordered a Lagunitas IPA and a Miller Lite with my food. The first of my order to arrive, an order of green chile cheese fries, had all the rights things going for it. I was pleased to note that the chile had great flavor and noticeable heat. The green chile bacon cheeseburger was also delicious, a sandwich that Claudio, the former proprietor, considers the bar's best. I was impressed by the freshness of the vegetables, the flavor of the bacon, the melty cheese and spicy chile, drawing out the best that this New Mexico staple has to offer. Furthermore, the hot wings I ordered were fried perfectly and dipped in a traditional hot Buffalo sauce. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming here. The service is attentive and responsive. For those passing through, this is a place well worth stopping at. People living in Central New Mexico and surrounding locales would also do well to keep this in mind. Though it is a simple bar and grill, Eddy and company know what they're doing.

Over 100 years old, this place is a New Mexico institution!

They have the best Green Chile Burgers on both sides of the Rio Grande and always cold beer and package, too.

He walked away as I approached the counter. I was confused as I wasn't aware I had to order on the tablet on the counter. When I began using the tablet I was in search of the new mushroom burger they sent me an email yesterday about. Of course you know it's what I wanted to try. Sadly it wasn't on the menu on the tablet. When I called the employee for help I basically got the vibe he didn't want to be there and he was hesitant to approach. When he did come to the counter I asked about the burger even showed him the email to get told it's not out yet and it was coming soon. I found myself wondering why I even got the email if this was true. Needless to say the food came out really fast. I thought well that's good at least. The presentation was better than the experience. The cheese on the queso fries was pretty skimpy. There were way more fries than cheese which was disappointing. The burger I wasn't a fan of either. It needed more cheese and the stackers sauce tasted strange like it a chipotle sauce it wasn't the same as I recalled. I'm sad to say this is the second location I've had a bad experience with. It's really disappointing because I really loved this place. I guess I'll have to stick to the central food hall because so far that's the only location that hasn't disappointed me like this yet.

The casino is kinda strict, doesn't allow photography which I feel really works against them considering we're in the age of TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels era, if your customers or patrons don't share the entertainment experience, there's really nothing else you can do to drive foot traffic. Organic growth comes from a feedback loop. Even a blue collared truck driver like me knows something bout marketing. But oh well. I had to put my phone away. And now, about this Great American Diner. Had I not seen the poster about this breakfast joint...I would have never known there was a diner nestled away in this village. Now that I've ordered the Pork Chops + Eggs Breakfast Platter........and at $8.99? Honestly, these are the best pork chops I've ever eaten on the road. They're packed with juice, a balanced amount of fat, the seasoning is a mix of rosemary, lime, salt, cracked pepper, garlic and oregano. And again for $8.99....wow, does this place no justice because it's empty on a Monday morning. So there it is, if you're ever on route 66, stop in here for the pork chops. Somehow the casino restaurant operators are running this place as either a loss leader (such as Costco's hotdogs), Or... Inflation doesn't exist on Indian Reservations..

Shredded beef, beans, red chili, lettuce and tomatoes. Yum! Service was outstanding, I think her name was Carrie. Loved the trees and decor within the restaurant making the ambiance cozy. I'm hoping he won't wait that long to return because I'm definitely going back!
