Unfortunately for serious cyclists, Marcel retired and the shop is gone. I don't have a clue where there is a shop that will replace it.

I just had the most pleasurable experience with the owner Marcel. Amidst a day when the shop is closed, he answered my call, listened to my story regarding having blown a flat, and showed an incredible amount of kindness by saying he'd help me out. The amount of knowledge transfer that took place during the short time that I was there is something to be appreciated. Especially during these COVID-19 times where most shops are slammed due to the high demand, the time and consideration shown is the stuff that wins a lifetime customer. I've been riding my bike every single day for the past 3 months, so for newly avid riders like myself, this is the kind of place to entrust in not only taking care of your bike but also the patience required in learning how to get the most out of your riding. I have been shopping at Marcel's shop for 15 - 20 years. I trust his work, his recommendations, and his advice. I just read the review by the guy who wanted a free inner tube after suffering a flat tire.......come on. You must be kidding! And to read in that same complaint that paying $100 for 2 tires & 2 inner tubes was too much??? If you want cheap, shop Amazon or go to Walmart. I routinely pay $50-$85 dollars for a single road bike tire. That price is the same at bike shops in Texas, Arizona, Washington, California.......I travel with my bike and buy gear almost every trip I take. This shop mainly carries high end bikes and parts at high end prices. Based on my experience I would not recommend going here for parts. The owner, Marcel you can tell is a wizard at what he does, but as far as customer service and prices for (at least) general parts, for your own sake, please look elsewhere. In my case I decided to buy a set of generic mountain bike tires and tubes at this local business during the COVID-19 pandemic. Why not support local struggling small businesses at this tough time? In the shop most items are high quality, high performance, but the prices were also very high. It cost me just under $100 for new tubes and tires. That's $30/tire and $15 per tube with a no returns policy. Good quality, but generic and substantially marked up compared to online prices for the same product. OK, I think, supporting local business, that helps someone in my community at a tough time. I can live with this. Everything installs OK and works great, so far, happy... So 2 weeks later I have a blowout on one of the tubes. I pull the tube and go back and explain I installed it properly as far as I could tell (properly seated, inflated, use of normal tools, no objects pierced the tube - and i've done this dozens of times and also had him tell me his recommended practice at purchase time) and it worked for a while then blew randomly. I'm thinking for the price, the store will stand by their product, especially seeing as though I did spend just about $100 on my last sale there is plenty of profit to gain even like-for-like replacing a defective product. Yea....dream on! I tell him the story and he puts a new tube on the counter. I think all is good and reach to pick up the tube and plan to leave thinking that he made things right, fantastic, I like this guy and store. Then I get told "You have to pay for that!" --HUH? (dream evaporates). This is then followed by a explanation from Marcel that this occurrence is typically the customer's fault for a bad install and I only see maybe 1/100 of these fail this way (but insinuating that wasn't the situation my case). But seriously with this markup is there really no room to have a satisfied customer who walks away thinking, I like that guy and shop and would love to see them do well in the community?? Major lack of common sense customer service. After I complain, the best he would offer me is $5 off a new tube (this new price is still more than most online vendors - he still makes a profit on this sale). So thanks for this (i'll give you another star for at least trying to move my direction versus being totally inflexible) -- but the whole transaction just left a really sour taste in my mouth. There are better places out there to buy bike parts: save yourself money and any hassle. If you do end up with a defective or incompatible part, just know that there is a limited returns policy and this guy is likely going to blame you to pinch pennies with just as he did with me without seeing the bigger picture of building a long-term customer relationship with a member of your community. (Marcel, if you are reading this, please seriously take the time to reflect on your customer service practices and attitude and the fact this is a common complaint across many of your on-line reviews) read more

The owner is a complete and utter ass. With me being the newb that i am in regarding bike, i walked in to ask a couple questions because i recently bought my first bike online through BikesDirect.com for 60% off retail, the only thing is that you recieve it in parts. So it does need some assembly and tuning. Well i was happy to attempt it all, i work on cars, so i have a general idea of how things work like that. i actually got everything done with some help from friends and i went on a 12 mile ride after some final adjusting of my own, and all i really needed was a little better fine tuning of the gears. the first thing he said to me after i told him i bought it online, was that it was only my fiirst mistake. After i couldn't regurgitate any of the names or models of the misc parts ex, fork, brakes or gears, he rolled his eyes and told me to bring it to him so he could fix it all. He couldn't even ball park a price for me. He mentioned possible triple digits. What i ended up doing was taking it to my friends shop he takes his bikes to. Santiago cycling at115 N Prospect Ave in Tustin, CA 92780 charged me $13 and the bike rides like a charm. read more

I happened across Bicisport Bicycles / CeloEuropa some 12 years ago when I first moved to California. I saw a frame sitting in Marcel's shop and told my wife that would be my next bike. Several months later Marcel made that happen and put me on a beautiful Colnago C49. The bike rode like a dream. Marcel made sure it got the services which it needed and I was always very excited to get the bike back after he did a tune up on it. It would just ride so flawlessly. Marcel is a perfectionist and always make sure things are perfect with my bike. When the wheels developed small cracks well he was able to get the manufactures to replace them under warranty. When it came time for a new bike last year Marcel set up me with an awesome C59. This bike rides like you would not believe. Marcel knows how to build the bikes, either road or mountain bikes. Bicisports is the only place I go when I am looking for a bike or need any service on my bikes. If you want that new feeling from your bike again, just let Marcel perform a tune up on it. after taking my road bike to cycle work, and revo bikes with no luck on them finding out what was wrong with my bike i drove to go see celo, at bici sport. it took him a couple of minutes to tell me my hub was shot. he also recomended a stronger crankset. since the ones i had on had a recall and were not very reliable. he's a one man show so it took a few days to get my bike back. but he cleaned an waxed my bike before returning it to me.old school service. read more

He goes beyond the call of duty and separates himself from many of the "mill" bike shops who lack the mechanical expertise offered by Marcel. Marcel is the best! If you are serious about riding and are dissatisfied with the knowledge and service at other bike shops, this is the place to come. I brought my mountain bike and road bike for service several years ago. Not only did he do a great job servicing the bikes, but he made adjustments and recommendations that greatly improved the performance of the bikes. All of his recommendations are based on his experience and knowledge and all of them have been spot on. You maybe able to buy these components online or elsewhere for less but you probably won't end up with the right one for you. Marcel has built me two road bikes. They fit perfectly and I am 100% satisfied with the bikes and their performance. read more

I got a flat during a ride and after installing a new tube I realized my CO2 inflator was broken. Long story short I decided to walk my bike to the closest bike shop and ended up here. All I needed was to get some air in my tires and continue my ride. But Marcel noticed a few other issues with my bike and fixed them as well. To be honest, he wasn't like "do you want me to this?" but rather "I'll fix this as well". Some people might not like that, but I tend to believe that's because he wants everything to be perfect and it's not just to do something so he can charge you more. After all, whatever he did on my bike he thoroughly explained what the problem was and more importantly how to fix it myself the next time. I find that rather odd for someone who's business relies on people not knowing how to fix their bikes. read more

I have to agree with Chandler W. I stopped by looking for a pair of gloves and asked to see what he had. He showed me some over-priced not-so-great gloves (50% over MSRP, I checked after I walked out) and tried to tell me that they were great, etc.. Helping you LBS is one thing (and I get that it involves paying retail sometimes).. but if the small items are overpriced like that AND with a bit of the same attitude you get at the big shops... I can't imagine what the prices for the big ticket items are. Hopefully he was just having a bad day, but I won't be back to find out. read more

I discovered Marcel through my research while looking for a road bike. I am a runner and have been running 1/2 marathons and full marathons for the past 2 decades and decided to transition into cycling to incorporate cross-training. I am the type that does my research and homework so my search for a road bike started with my local bike shops which are mostly chain stores and test road all of the common brands of bikes in the parking lots of these stores. Upon further reviews and searches for branded bikes on the internet I came across the brand Colnago. The discovery came after fully exhausting my search and test rides of all the common brands. I went on Colnago's website to get more information and I liked what I discovered and so I clicked on dealers in the area that sold Colnago's and went to Marcel's shop. I gave him a bit of history of why I was looking for a bike and so he showed me 2 models of Colnago's. What happened next was the game changer for why i chose to purchase a bike from Marcel, and continue to be a loyal customer to Marcel. He was the only person during my search for a bike that put me in clips even thought i had no experience with road bikes nor have I ever been clipped in a bike. I shared this concern with him while he fitted me on two bikes. He said "don't worry, I teach you big pizza, small pizza, don't worry." He sent me on my way after some initial instructions. But what was different about this test ride was that he gave me a realistic route to get the feel of the bikes. Uphill, down hill, flat terrain... I was not limited to a parking lot. After the test rides i told him i would think about it and a week later i bought my first bike from Marcel that was about 3 years ago and since then i have purchased 2 more bikes from him a steal master Colnago and an EPS Colnago. Marcel is the real deal if you want a great product with expertise fitting and equipment knowledge. read more
