After a disastrous day spent dealing with the Irvine location I decided to drive to this location in a last ditch effort to purchase the bike I wanted. John immediately greeted me and helped me get the correct bike and gear I would need as a beginner cyclist. He was very knowledgeable about bikes and all the gear/maintenance. I bought a Trek E-Caliber from Jax two years ago for over $5000. Recently the Fazua motor failed with 123 miles on it. Jax had told me at time of purchase that this was the best motor available. When I brought the bike in for service, Jax said they no longer work on Fazua motors and recommended I call Trek or Fazua. Do not buy a bike from them - they over hype the products and don't stand behind them. They even recommended I go to one of their competitors to get the bike fixed!Braxton is the GM - don't trust him or the sales team. read more

Bought an ebike last year and have it serviced a handful a times a year. The store has fair prices. And the service guys are upfront and update on what they think best is for my bike. It's normally a 2-3days and I'm back on the trails. been a costumer for almost 4 years. The tall one, Nick, is super thorough and recommends replacing and repairing parts as necessary. Huge thank you & shout out to the staff at Jax Bicycle Center in Laguna Niguel! Ordered my four-year-old a new bike for Christmas (not from Jax) and when we opened the box to put it together we saw that the handlebar assembly was damaged. It would have been too late for the vendor to deliver an exchange before Christmas. The first repair shop I took it to barely glanced at the problem, told me it was unfixable and tried to sell me the same bike for more than double. Losing hope, I went to Jax for the first time, and the kind staff immediately offered to help and jumped in to trouble-shoot. They fixed the problem within minutes, and even helped me finish assembly! When I tried to pay they just said "Merry Christmas!" They honestly saved Christmas for my four-year-old (and this stressed-out mom)! Will be taking all of our bikes to Jax from now on! read more

Great selection of bikes but i was not stoked on the inquiry I was in for. Walked in, 3 guys in the back. Asked for shifter cable housing, specifically Shimano SP41 a 50m box of derailleur cable housing which is logged online as anywhere from $70-110. The tall older gentleman insisted that boxes of cable housing were $500+ specifically the sram ones. The other 2 guys came up front one guy came to the computer and said "we can get it to you for around $100" and the third gentleman looked back at the tall guy and said "sure the box of cable housing was $500" Not from the area, i understand the margins and price ranges and it was not cool for the older tall guy to quote me $500 for a box that is usually 39-70 bucks. Inquires like this tell the standing of a business, what they are after. If he charged be retail price for the box by foot per individual yes, in all it is around 500 profit.ish. read more

He walked me through the entire process explained and demo'd the limited production Artist Series Navigator Bike. Without his expertise and Knowledge in trek products, this purchase wasn't going to happen. I went in for a basic townie and walked out with a Artist series. I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase and will continue to purchase from Johnny in the near future. FYI bike was not even in stock, he went out of his way, located the bike, and called the warehouse to confirm stock. Once confirmed, I made the purchase and within few days I picked up the Navigator. . Great and efficient Johnny, Jax never seems to disappoint. Highly recommend speaking with Johnny on your next bike purchase at JaX, (Owner Brian- he deserves a raise!!!) I hope their service department is as great as their sales. We will wait and see. I found this shop from Shimano's website by searching the local Team SHIMANO dealer. Then I brought my own Shimano EP8 based eMTB for diagnostic and repair. They are very courteous and processional, and got my Shimano eP8 computer repaired in a day with full diagnostic and firmware update. Their charge rate is also very reasonable, so this is the kind of local bike shop I've been looking for. And I'll definitely come back in the future to support their business. read more

I went to this shop after leaving one that was in the Home Depot center near by. I asked for my new dry-land mushing scooter to have the breaks checked & adjusted if needed. They told me it would cost $50.00 (the scooter cost $99.)! I went to Jax. The owner personally worked on my scooter, did a great job, and the cost was $31.00. Now my dog & I can scooter-joring safely. This is the O.C. & I get that everything costs more, but this was a small job & Jax's owner didn't charge an unaffordable fee. The manager here (Braxton I believe) is one of the rudest people I've ever had the displeasure of talking to. When my partner and I came in here looking for a bike we were passed to him. We stated our interest in a hybrid and he asked what our use would be. Again we stated that we wanted something versatile for greenways. He then said in a condescending and loud overly annoyed tone "I KNOW WHAT YOU SAID. That's why I asked again" I have had everything from hybrids to road bikes so I knew what I wanted and why. He takes to me like I didn't know anything and was dumb. Aside from that there was this weird rushed feeling like they wanted to convince you to buy buy buy. They kept reminding us there was a shortage and to hurry because bikes wouldn't last. They basically bullied my partner into putting down a deposit. I refused to support behavior like this. It felt weird and slimy from the get go. Treating others with kindness and respect is foundational both in and out of businesses. The selection is good but I'd never support this place. read more

The staff at this bike store are rude and are the revenue prevention team. All I needed was help with my tires. Would have paid for a package or by the hour. My bike has normal tires. I am a avid road bike junkie but recently I have been dabbling in Mountain Bike experiences and when after my 3rd time out, I took in a thorn in my rear tire. Normally I would just change out the tube myself and be on my way but being a consumer who supports the smaller bike shops, I decided to save my fingers from the grease and try Jax. I was greeted immediately by all staff members than advised by Garet on using a thorn resistant tube. Then for a small price.
