Bicycle Clinic - Looks like new! - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me - Weymouth, Massachusetts

The weather got nice, and I went to put some air in my tires, and the tire would not inflate. I decided to bring my bike to the bicycle clinic to be repaired. Ended up leaving with a bike that functioned good as (if not slightly better) than new. I'm not even kidding! More on that later. When I had brought the bicycle into the Bicycle Clinic for the flat repair, the person I assume was the owner told me, that in addition to fixing the flat, for safety he will have to ensure that the bicycle will be safe to ride. The service may come off as a little bit gruff/to-the-point, but don't let that detract you. I'd take slightly gruff service any day over falling off my bike due to mechanical failure whilst in traffic. I went in with a flat tire, and I left a couple days and 50 bucks later with a smoothly functioning bike. Better than new explanation: When I bought the bike new many years ago it worked great, however the 1-2-3 shifter was a little bit too tight. When I had gotten the bike tuned up (elsewhere) a couple times, this was never addressed. No big deal, I didn't mention it, and just kept the shifter a little shy of the second gear or third gear. When I collected my bike from the Bicycle Clinic, the gears finally worked as they're supposed to! This was in addition to things like tightening the brakes, oiling the chain, and I'm sure another little bit of PMCS (Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services). The owner gave me a little guidance of how to keep the bike running in tip-top shape, and when I was mounting it to my car, ran out and gave me a suggestion on how to attach it to prevent drive-train damage. Overall, a great experience, and a great value considering the scope of work and a cost of $50. Absolutely would use Bicycle Clinic again for all my bike repair and PMCS needs. read more

I want to upgrade my wife bike crankset for 50/34t, did some research on Google, it look like is a easy job, only tool I need is Park Tool CWP-7 for the square taper, I mess with the crank and stripped the threads, no way I could pull the crank arm out myself. I brought it to The Bicycle Link, they don't have the right tool to cut the crank, but they are very good, refer me to Bicycle Clinic. I met Joe at Bicycle Clinic, he took the challenge on my bike, he did a excellent job without any damage and put the new crankset on the bike, pick up on next day, my wife love the bike with 50/34t crankset now. Let's start with the fact they are a repair shop that refuses to do repairs. The guy wanted $150 down payment for me to leave my bike when all I needed was a new chain and a new derailleur. brought my bike into the bicycle link and they're repairing it for $100. (Total came to $78.47 THANK YOU BICYCLE LINK) I asked for a repair and instead got a lecture about how I dont know the man's character. whatever the hell that means. Here is what I do know, when I have a bike that needs to be repaired I bring it to a repair shop and expect it to be repaired. Apparently his favorite line to tell customers is its gonna cost you more to fix it than it would to buy a new one. I walk into any other repair shop in the state and tell them what I want done. it would get done. cause that's what their business is REPAIRING BIKES. Guy goes on to tell me a tune up alone is $100 and I would be better off buying a new bike NEWS FLASH I NEED A NEW CHAIN AND DERAILUR NOT A TUNE UP This guy should stick to copying keys and selling safes. And the last thing you should tell a customer is "I would fail you" cause if you would fail at replacing a chain and derailleur you're in the wrong line of work. read more

Bicycle clinic was recommended to me by a neighbor, and he didn't steer me wrong. I needed to get my bike tuned up for the Pan Mass Challenge and brought it in to be checked. It was in top shape for the big ride and Joe gave me a lot of maintenance and riding tips. He is extremely knowledgable, and absolutely does not try to sell you things you don't need like some other bike shops. Joe Fucille is the BEST in the business. He knows bikes, and he knows YOU. He will not sell you something that is not right for you, just to get a sale. Joe stands behind his products and his service. Joe is no bike factory. Sure he has something for everyone, but whether you need a kids starter bike, a motorized ( assisted) bike, or a $10,000 racing bike, Joe has it. Joe actually let me try a bike for the weekend to see if I liked it. Joe also has all the accessories that you need to enjoy the bicycle experience. When I got my legs under me, Joe invited me out for one of his Sunday morning jaunts. He said I did great, but I think he dumbed the ride down for me. I love Joe and his bike shop. I purchased a Craigslist bike for $50 that had some issues shifting. On my way to work I stopped at the Bicycle Clinic. It is half locksmith half bike shop. I met Joe and he said he would check it out but may be more expensive to fix than bike is worth. He spent a few days with the bike and diagnosed an improper chain. Lubed bike to unstick components and got it to work. When I got there he even replaced seat. He did the the most inexpensive way possible with a used seat. I could not recommend him more. He was not trying to make extra money up charging for other things that could be replaced. If you want an honest guy - this is the place no questions. Thank you for being one of the few honest guys around since I know zero about fixing bikes he could have tried to sell me something I did my need. He sized me for the bike and gave me a tire valve adapter for the weird version my bike had. $130 restoration to a working bike. read more

The Bicycle Clinic is very highly recommended by me-I am riding in the Pan Mass Challenge in less than 5 weeks, it is a 200 mile, 2-day ride to raise money to fight cancer. I need every spare minute to train for this and I had emergency bike repairs required. Joe fixed my problems the same day I brought in the bike, he could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. Yeah, I know his website doesn't work anymore, but Joe and his crew are great people who know a lot about bikes. I bought a used Cannondale road bike here a couple of months ago, and it's a great bike for the money ($400). Since then, I've brought my bike here for upgrades, accessories, and minor adjustments. Joe (who I believe is the owner of the shop) is a great guy who will give you an honest deal and good biking advice. On more than one occasion, I've asked him if I should buy this or that, and he actually talked me out of it because it wasn't something I needed. I like that kind of honesty (and knowledgeable advice). One time a woman came into the shop wanting to trade in her perfectly good bike for a brand new one because she wanted to get into cyclo cross training. She said her bike rode like a tank. Instead of selling her a new bike, he did the honest thing by making some adjustments on her bike and lubing up the chain. You won't be sold to at this shop. This shop specializes in Bianchi and Haro. They've also got a few good used bikes at fair prices, including kids bikes. They also offer a great selection of accessories. And the folks who work here are all great people. If you're in the market for a brand new Bianchi or Haro, or you want a good used bike from someone who's been in the business for 30 years and knows what he's doing, you'll definitely want to stop in here read more

I went to the Bicycle Clinic at the suggestion of a friend. I was not happy with another LBS and had been taking my bike to REI for the past several years. I like the guys at REI, but would rather support a local business. A friend told me that he takes his bike to the Bicycle Clinic, so I gave it a try. After a couple of wipe outs, my bike was making a noise that sounded pretty bad. I stopped in and dropped it off with Joe after work one evening and the next morning I received a text from him stating that he believed the problem was solved. I picked my bike up and hit the trails without any noises coming from my bike. I can tell that Joe genuinely cares about his customers and their needs. Joe is a great bike mechanic, but even better human being. We brought Joe 2 bikes for repair on Saturday, then called on Monday to say we needed them back right away for a last minute family vacation. He came in early and got the job done. When UPS screwed up delivery of a new wheel, he gave us one from another bike so we could have it for the trip. When we returned home, he put on the new wheel the same day. The male that was in the shop today was far from professional. I asked about bike pricing. He started off telling me how a "idiot" customer bought a bike offline and it was already broken. Then proceeded to lecture me on how my phone was more expensive then a bike, asked how much I spent on a my personal belongings. All spoken with a raised voice. He also told me "don't bother buying a bike if I don't have the cash to pay for it". I'm sorry he was so unbelievably unprofessional.
