Called Armen about fixing my ancient cruiser that hadn't had a body on it in a handful of years and the guy came faster than a speeding bullet. Within 15-20 minutes of me sending an S.O.S. (calling him), he arrived with his tools and got to work. I live within his no-charge miles radius, so I wasn't charged a fee for being too far a distance from him, and $25 out of pocket later, the bike was beaming with two new wheels (they were flat) and a couple of loose parts screwed back in their proper place. The young man who met me on the street (had to come out of apartment complex where this is located) was edgy and didn't seem to want to help me with my dilemma. Sure enough, he told me it would take a day and that he would get back to me. Bicycle Pit Stop has seriously helped me not lose my mind during this pandemic. They serviced my bike and even added a more comfortable saddle for me to be able to ride with my husband on the longer trails that he likes to go on. They have a very quick turn around time and very competitive rates. I don't think I will ever trust another bike shop with my bikes since I've noticed most of them just try to sell you unnecessary things that don't make much sense. I happened to find Armen on Yelp. I needed an obscure part for bleeding some newer (and tedious) Hayes Prime brakes; I usually do all of my own work unless I don't have the right tools for the job. He went out of his way to make multiple phone calls for me and then even had me stop by to try and figure it out. I needed to cut and bleed the brakes for a ride this weekend (last minute notice) and my ride was in limbo. I have bled brakes before, but this time I was missing a key screw-in piece. We managed to rig up a system and get one of the brakes working... after a nightmare procedure which we both cursed. (Now I know why I got such a good deal on these.) We only had time to do one brake and it wasn't done the way he/we would've liked so he didn't even charge me anything after an hours worth of work. Well, I had to at least tip him, he went way out of his way. Calling all bike shops... This is how you treat customers. Hands down one of the best interactions I've had with a mechanic. I had a Knolly bike needing the suspension pivots serviced. Regular maintenance but can be a pain if the bolts have seized. My regular mechanic is gone permanently, another trusted local place said it would take a week and a half, so I went over to Pit Stop and met Armen. Off the bat, I got the vibe that he loves what he does and he would give the bike all his attention and care. And he did. A day later the bike was done and Armen even did a little extra work to dial-in everything else. With the new pivots in place, I took the bike and hit the whoops (jumps) near Malibu. The bike felt great, the rear links springy and lively. Very happy with the work done. And I'm very OCD with my bike. If you love your bike, then take it to Pit Stop for service. Pricing is fair, the work is done fast, and the mechanic is super communicative and honest. And I don't like bike shops that just throw your bike in the back, person X does the work, person Y charges you for the overhead, and person Z says thank you come again. All the meanwhile you don;t really know what the hell anyone really did with your bike :) You won't have that problem here. Take your bike over to him already! read more

I don't think I'll go anywhere else in LA for bike repairs and tune-ups. Armen is the man! Got a tune-up and new shifter cables install on my Giant road bike a couple months ago. I took it back in to get the tension adjusted on the cables after they'd stretched a little. Now everything on my bike is working better than it ever has. Seems like there were some design errors in the front derailleur that we were able to compensate for with some creative engineering. He tweaked the shifting until it was just right. Some other things to note - Armen doesn't have the stock and overhead like the larger places so the prices are comparable with the bonus of face-to-face accountability and a high degree of integrity. Also, Armen will not bs or be afraid to tell you what you're doing wrong and how you can improve your own bike maintenance. Armen is a great mechanic working straight out of his personal garage; so I am able to get the most bang out of my buck going to him compared to "bike shops" which always try to rip you off. I had Armen completely overhaul and rebuild my Cannondale Scalpel 29er. Every square inch of the bike was cleaned, every bearing was lubricated, and every mechanism was tuned to perfection. He even went out of his way and created a custom cable housing strap to keep my cables from rubbing against the frame. Most importantly, his not like every other bike shop that tries to sell you new parts or a new bike. He provided me a new, sturdier tube that has not had a flat since, which is amazing since I seem to be a magnet for this sort of thing. Finally found an awesome person to service my bike. Armen is a highly skilled technician and has a lot of knowledge and passion about taking care of my bike. I came to him thinking I had a small issue but quickly was shown all the other services I had gotten in the past hadn't cleaned all the parts on my bike as they should have through the years. He spent the time and cleaned it out and it is running so clean and smooth it's ridiculous. He came to my hood, surprisingly fast and fixed my flat tire in a matter of minutes as he was talking on the phone ( which he always answers and i totally think he needs a secretary xD) and then also while chatting with me, with minimum amount of lighting. I mean if that's not pro I don't know what it is :D. He also gave me a few pointers on how my bike, which i thought was 'the shit' was actually just shit and pointed how the brake levers were pretty cheap, telling me what the problem with them was.
