Small location but still a great variety of sporting goods across the board. My sport of choice is Recurve Bow Archery. Finding equipment isn't easy. Big 5 isn't any better. They do have some equipment. Mostly for Compound Bows. Not a great selection of arrows. Non I would use. I have a wide wingspan. I need a long arrow. All of these arrows are carbon fiber. They are awesome! What about variety? No wood arrows. No aluminum arrows. Sooo. No thanks. If your looking for some nice outfits to jog in. This is your place. I'm not that guy. They have an evening/night manager who is ALWAYS on their phone watching movies, people come in & shoplift & he doesn't seem to care that someone walks out with several Columbia Sportswear coats & several Nike hoodies, probably a good $1,000 or more worth of merchandise. AND he's still working there & watching movies on his phone. It's like some of the employees just don't care, while others do. I used to work in a store where we had security people there all the time, employees kept an eye out for shoplifters, we actually CARED about our store!! read more

The manager says that they are seriously stocking up the store. Weatherman said we have a big storm coming in the next few days? I wish they still carried my favorite shoes for tennis... I'm still watching for them. read more

Had to wait an hour and a half just for a purchase because they can't cross train, have enough people at the store, and employees who blatantly don't give a rats a$$ about you or the company they work for. Wtg! read more

The lady told me over the phone "You have to come to the store to have us check the back stock for you", I mean...the common courtesy thing would be checking the stock before the customer actually gets there but I thought that they might have known that they had some in the back....there was a thought in my head that told me that they probably aren't going to have the item in stock.. and guess what...I was right. That's just laziness on her end, really... I am sure that it's against for her to have customers drive across town to ask an employee to check for something that she could have easily checked. read more

Typical Big 5 store. Lots of sport item. Price reasonable.Service is decent. The quality of stuff is okay. Not high quality equipment.

What a joke of a store, for I've given them 4 individual shopping attempts. The first one, was a very poor experience, when in fact, I purchased "zero" items, solely because I couldn't get any help! Hello, where do their people go, especially early in the AM right after opening? My second and third trips to BIG 5 unfortunately were exactly the same, despite those aggravating visits, I decided to give them yet another shot at taking my money "today", for I still wanted to buy some additional mens hiking boots/cross trainers, etc.. Well, long story longer, I went there again today, just after opening at 10:30 to avoid any crowds. So, upon arriving through the front door, and greeting 3-4 individuals behind the counters, I headed to the back of the store to browse clearance tables, where I probably spent at least 20 minutes searching to no avail. My alternative then, was to browse the back wall where most new footwear is on display. After looking there for at least another 10 minutes, with not a sole around or in site, I walked back toward the front door. While going by the check-out counter, a large lady almost ran me over as she came at me from an area to my right! So, seeing her name tag, I asked her if there was any reason that I was alone in the footwear area for all that time, and that I'm now leaving because of it. She basically snapped at me like it was my own fault for NOT hunting someone up! I said,"you must be kidding", that's NOT my job, and I'm tired of wasting my time. Then, she started with belittling me for not having found one of her many sales people......what? I never saw a sales person during the entire time I stayed in that store, other than upon arrival ! So, I felt as though I had to inform her of the job description of a clothing sales person, and she still wanted to argue about my failure to look around to round someone up! The windbag then stated that she was with some other customers and could not come to assist me......only problem was, that there were NO other people in the entire store!........that's enough for this joint! I'm not going to waste any more time regarding this POS store, nor do I need to elaborate further on my experience there today, enough said! I'll just say in closing, that all you normal folks know exactly what I'm describing in this review, and some of you have probably experienced this same exact behavior by the sales staff here, and evidently they are just too damn busy to seek out and help a customer who is in their store, doing "what" exactly, is the question, for it certainly wasn't looking for or helping a customer in finding footwear! Don't allow them the opportunity to waste your time too, and if your time is valuable, shop somewhere else! rj read more
