This is a fun little store. We had a varmint problem and I had to buy a BB gun. I did some research online and found out that the Gamo Swarm was the best option for me. I'm an animal lover and it was a super tough decision to make, but I decided on a high-powered premium air rifle and premium ammo so that the job would be done quick and as painless as possible. I assumed Amazon was cheaper but I was willing to spend more money to solve the problem today, and I wanted to try to support local. I called to make sure that they had the gun in stock, I spoke with Ismael (I'm sorry, friend I hope I spelled your name right). He was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. When I showed up to the store, he recognized me from our conversation and came right over to help me. This guy knows his stuff. I was surprised to find out that there was a sale, and it was much cheaper than Amazon! Definitely a valuable employee and I hope he is recognized and well taken care of. I know the district manager for this place as well, his name is Seth Blum and he's a great guy. Super friendly and personable and great at his job. This place is fun, I hope they stick around... If you haven't been in go give them a shot... It reminds me of Popular.. that was a camping/outdoor place back in the early to mid 90s. Came in in a hurry looking for some non-slip shoes and was able to find them through the help of Grady. He gave me some good insight about which brand would be best (Skechers) and I was able to size up for comfortability. Wow what a poorly managed store with staff that take their lead from the manager. Don't spend money here. Go to Dick's!! Online it said they have the item, which is an in-store only purchase. I went there and they didn't have it. That happens-I get it. But the way they, the lackey at the register and the completely indifferent manager, treated me was completely indifferent and seemingly annoyed that I would even ask for it. Lol. The Nub said, "it's only the three of us here. Ugh. I dunno. What do you want me to do?" (My count put the shoppers at 3 plus myself while I was there. Not that they were helping any of them!) Manager said, "We probably have it, but it's in the back packed up in a box or something. It's seasonal." Like you want us to look for something to sell to you and take your money in return?!? I've shopped at various Big 5 locations in the past and was surprised at the lack of service at this location. When I walked in the store I was greeted and asked what I was looking for ... softball cleats. The staff member confirmed they were in the shoe section so I headed that way. It took a few minutes to locate the cleats and once I found them it was unclear where to find the size selection. I think I was the only customer in the store, but the two staff members were chatting away and too busy to help. My advice is don't waste your time here. This is more about Big 5 policy. I recently went to Water Wheel in Payson and got some water shoes to be safer and have more fun there. Walmart had none left so I went to Big 5. I got a size 10 pair and I'm a 10.5 normally. They felt good in the store but then as soon as I was walking around in them I could feel a whole inch of extra room in my shoe even though my toes touch the ends of my 10.5 Nikes. I didn't get the cheapest ones, I got a decent looking pair for $20. I brought them back a few days later because there's no return policy listed on the receipt. They quickly shut me down because they touched water even though I stated it's not just a return I'm dissatisfied with this product because it's not made correctly. They offered me a 10% discount on a new pair. Thanks for nothing Big 5. I didn't want to shop there but I was in a bind, and I will make sure never to come back. Walmart would have refunded or exchanged them if they had them in stock. And your equipment should be better than Walmart not worse! read more

Had to get some shoes and stopped by here. This is the only place we go for shoes. I didn't get the shoe guys name, but he was very courteous, and helpful. Nothing like Al Bundy... They have decent prices and are well stocked. Great job to the whole team. read more

I am a fan of this place because of its prices. We had one sales associate who was worthless when it came time to help us, however we came across another guy who made up for it. My one complaint was how cramped this store is. Its packed with stuff and hard to manuver around. More reasonably priced items here. Decent quality products. Good sales. Coupons are a bit confusing. Quite a few of them, but be sure to read the fine print otherwise you may be disappointed when you get to the store. My issue is that I called with the coupon on hand with a question thrying to clarify the exclusions but even the staff could not explain it to me. We came here as REI had a long line. The store was stuffy, dirty, and cluttered. The staff did not seem to care about customers and seemed purely annoyed with even having to do their job. They chatted behind the register to themselves. Did not even get a "hi" when walking in nor a greeting at purchase. The atmosphere felt like the impending doom of a failing business - maybe party due to the poor employee attitudes and lack of motivation. read more

I stopped by this store with my husband and son to get them both soccer shoes. Let me start of by stating the customer service in this store is excellent! The assistant manager John and CSR's made us feel very welcomed. Sadly I didn't write down the names of the two gentlemen that helped us find the perfect soccer shoes for my son and husband. We were approached couple times to ask us if we needed help finding anything and to assist us with getting the shoe sizes we needed. It was just the right amount of customer service needed, enough to let us look around and not feel overwhelmed by too much asking. Also the store is clean and neatly organized. Which helped to be able to find what we needed. As well the prices are decent with good quality shoes and brands. I don't understand why they don't have better reviews, but I would recommend for you to stop by and give them a chance. read more

My girlfriend and I came in and decided to look for a soccer ball. After walking in nobody greeted us or even asked if we needed help looking for something so we had to look for ourselves. After 10 minutes of trying to look through the store we finally found the soccer balls. They had a small selection so I picked out one of the Nike soccer balls. I grabbed it and the ball fell out of the box due to the box it was in was already ripped so someone else had already been tampering with it. Since it was already out of the box I decided to pass it around with my girlfriend easily. No hard through passes were made simply soft up close passes were made and moments later the manger came over with this up tight rude look on his face and told us "play time is over" I was actually going to purchase the ball but after that terrible experience they will not be getting my money or another visit from me again. Don't expect to have any fun when you come to this location. 1 star for me. read more
