Who doesn't like a bargain? This small, yet stuffed floor to ceiling, business has tons of used sports equipment. Some of the equipment is slightly used and some is very used. BUT it's all priced appropriately. There is a wide variety of sports represented. This is bargain hunting: so the opportunities are hit and miss. If you are in the bargain hunting mood, the shopping center Play It Again is located in has several other used and bargain shops. I can't imagine you couldn't find a bargain in this shopping center. (Heads up: there is a second/return tool store in this center as well.) At beginning of February 2021, I called 'Play It Again Sports' (32nd St & Greenway Pkwy, Phoenix) and apprised Chris of my Treadmill need. Chris apprised he'd call as soon as one came in that met my specs. I called Chris 25 March, as I'd not heard from him. He apprised that he had a foldable, 3 horsepower treadmill. I stated I'd be in the next day, and arrived to Play It again Sports @ 140pm Friday. The NordicTrack C970 PRO treadmill was larger than I planned. I asked him if he'd allow me a few hours to go home & measure my space. He agreed, told me they close at 6pm, said he'd put my name on the treadmill and that he'd look into getting me a better price. As promised, I called Play It Again Sports the same day @ 505pm, was left on hold for 22 mins., in which time I sensed something was wrong. Chris answered the phone and gave a hurried, half-ass apology stating that his brother sold my treadmill without him knowing two hours earlier. Then said, 'this happens often'. ..WHY AM I WRITING THIS REVIEW: Because This Is BULLSHIT!!! There's no way - in a storefront smaller than a one bedroom apartment w/o walls, that Chris didn't know his brother was selling my NordicTrack C970, which he'd committed to me less than 2 hours earlier. Because the store front is very small, I believe he had to have been complicit in the sale of my NordicTrack C970 PRO to another!!! WHY AM I WRITING THIS REVIEW: Last June 2020, I paid $100.00 for an item at the 'Christian Family Care Thrift Store', which happens to be in the very same complex as Play it again sports. I returned one day later as scheduled with a truck to pick up my item, and they actually SOLD THE CHAIR I'D PAID FOR utilizing the same lame ass explanation, 'O, another employee sold it without me knowing,' said Leonard, the manager. BULLSHIT!!! A few 'sold' tags were on the item. BESIDES, I'm definite that neither store can recall reselling a white customer's previously paid for product, or selling a product to another they'd previously promised a white customer. YES, It's about race!!! And if it's not race, it's about getting more money. I don't believe either store was ignorant of the sale of my product... they made no attempt to retrieve my product... gave lame explanations as to how my product was sold, and gave insincere apologies. Great concept! Kids grow so fast, every year, I buy new cleats as their feet grow so fast. They sell some used as well as new sporting goods here. I came here to sell a year old (which they wore only one season of 3 months) cleats and ice hockey equipment. I wouldn't call the young staff behind the counter overly friendly but he wasn't mean either. He look at them and told me how much it was for store credit and cash. You get more money for store credit, and if you don't use all the credit, they keep it for a year. Although they have other PIAS stores in the Valley, credit is good only at this location. read more

In comparison to the other PIAS stores I've experienced, this one is "A-Ok". Being in Arizona I expected the golf selection to be much more extensive. There were plenty of used wedges and putters to choose from however the driver selection (both new and used) were almost non-existent. The cardio selection was pretty good although the merchandising was a bit all over the place. Good selection of water sports items varying from wakeboards and ski's. The baseball section was decent although the merchandising was a bit messy. Fortunately the prices were fair on almost all of the products I looked at. There was only one employee in the store when I came in. He did greet me but that was the only interaction I had with him. I did notice that he was wearing flip flop sandals. A little odd if you ask me especially considering all of the weight equipment the store had. Overall this is a average PIAS location. I've seen better but I've definitely seen worse. The selection of used equipment seems to be pretty good though so this location is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

They have a wide variety of ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes and a variety of weight room type stuff. As well as sporting equipment. This location is a good place to find used and new items for affordable prices! It's also environmentally friendly since you are purchasing a previously owned item! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable-- while in there, I saw staff helping a family get a little boys baseball gear. Great place to get sports equipment at a decent price. With the new year comes those resolutions, and yes mine involves a little weight loss. To assist me in that are a few naughty kettlebells I picked up here at PIAS. These guys were even open on New Year's Day! The place is a bit cluttered, but I knew to find the kettlebells over by the free weights. It looked like they'd just gotten new stock in. I was able to score a mate for my 4kg, and two 18kg for when my muscles are bored and need to move on up! They had all sorts of items in here -- golf, bikes, stationary bikes, free weights, balls, etc. The guy behind the counter even helped me get the kettlebells to my car. read more

I felt like I was bothering him but he did give me the run down on how selling items to the store works. I emailed the person on the business card I was given and I received a quick reply. We set up an appointment for him to pick it up on the day I was moving so I might not have been there to meet him. That wasn't an issue. I left the treadmill on the patio, they picked it up and left cash exactly where I asked for it to be placed. Play gives you 2 choices if you want to sell your item (and they agree to sell it). You can either sell for a cash price or wait for it to sell for a slightly higher amount. So I came here looking for a used elliptical. I already tried looking on craigslist , which I didn't find much and what I did find I did not like the quality/condition. So I decided to come here since it sells used work out equipment. They had a nice selection on the sales floor, I found the used elliptical that I wanted. However I did not like something about that one. The gentlemen noticed it and said that they have the same brand but newer model for the same price in the other room(which I assumed was storage) . He brought it out , plugged it in and I was sold. Great Buy !. They helped us get it in the truck. However , we realized that we forgot straps and one of the gentlemen that work there had an extra strap in their personal vehicle and he was very helpful enough to give it to us. I was impressed with the fact that they give a 30 day warranty on all their equipment. I was impressed by the staff, the knowledge, the organization and helpfulness. I wanted a treadmill and didn't want to spend a fortune and I didn't want to pay to have it assembled. I called and told Chris what I wanted and over the phone he gave me info on four treadmills that met my basic criteria. I checked the reviews on line and decided between two. I drove over (the store is crowded with equipment and appeared clean and What I'd expect this sort of store to look like) and tried them out and Chris answered my questions. They delivered when I wanted for a reasonable price and the young man arrived EARLY by a few minutes. He checked out the best path (the doors in the house are not very wide) and he efficiently got in into the bedroom and tested it and placed it just as I wanted it. Stopped in a couple of days ago. The store was empty of customers, with two gentlemen working. One of them immediately put on his mask upon seeing me enter and asked if he could help me find anything. Great, perfect! The other, who had an air of authority but I have no idea what his position is in this store, didn't wear a mask and didn't look the least bit aware or concerned that he should. There were no barriers at the register, no social distancing markers, or anything to indicate any compliance with current requirements. There were no signs requiring customers to wear masks. I should not have purchased my item here, but I succumbed to the convenience of already being there and didn't want to keep this chore on my list. My bad. This man rung me up, and handed me a pen and the receipt to sign with no regard for safety. NOT OKAY! I feel for businesses, but we are all suffering and need to think of the safety of everyone, even when it is a little bit inconvenient or uncomfortable. I won't come back here. read more

The friendly and knowledgeable guy helping me showed me how it would fit in the doorway by using THEIR doorway as an example (so I could see if it would work in mine), and even taped the handles where they needed to be reinforced (no charge!). FINALLY! After visiting three other stores, this place had what I needed: skateboard safety gear, youth size. At the height of the recent heatwave, I was frustrated after having to drive around looking for equipment for my 11y/o son. The owner welcomed us in and inquired about our needs- I got right to the point. Knowing his inventory, he showed us the selection: a complete set vs. single items. Variety, I liked that! We chatted as my son verified the fit. Still a relative newbie to "The Valley", he gave some suggestions for restaurants, sports clubs, and activities. Helpful but not over bearing. We strolled through the store and bought other items that were in great shape.
