The facility no longer reflects the standards implied by its name or reputation. Basic maintenance issues, such as broken drinking fountains, go unresolved for weeks or even months. The televisions are consistently set to fox news on every tv with no variety, despite repeated feedback. Additionally, essential equipment in the weight room, such as clips for securing weights, has been missing for over six to seven months without replacement. What's equally concerning is the atmosphere. Staff members often appear disengaged or frustrated, which contributes to an unwelcoming environment. After bringing these issues up multiple times with little to no improvement, it feels like member concerns are not being taken seriously. After two decades of membership, I expect a facility that is clean, functional, and responsive to feedback. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience, me, my husband and two kids have decided to part ways, They currently took the $59 dollar fee for next year and won't give me my refund.

These past two years have been pandemically bad. Being home all the time can lead to bad habits and terrible mental health. So I joined this gym. I'm no where near the level of the veterans at this gym, but I keep going and keep surprising myself every time. It's tough. It's fun. It's structured. Its clean. Its perfectly located. it took a couple months before it became part of my new life style, but once it did it's powerful mental and physical medicine. Coach is a character. He reminds me of strict high school teachers, hard exteriors but all love in the inside. Unless you forget to sign in, then he is just mad... lol. This gym is for you If you tried regular gyms and don't know what you are doing, or need more out of your workouts. I ended up having the best fitness experience of my life. Coach David was great and taught me how to do all the barbell movements and gave the right amount of encouragement and coaching to keep me coming in. From October 2021 to May 2022, I went to the 5am classes here, which were perfect for me to get my workout in before workout. I made amazing friends with all the gym members. My wife and I have to move now because of work, but this gym had a huge impact on my physical and mental toughness. I'm looking forward to continuing CrossFit in the city we're moving to. Today was my last day at Matador, and the crew sent me off with an amazing farewell and goodbye card! I can't think of a better, more hard-working group of folks. Not just gym-mates but friends.

My locker has been broken into twice, and when I reported the incidents, I was told by a front desk employee that the security footage could not be shared. While I understand there may be privacy policies regarding video footage, having my locker broken into on two separate occasions without any apparent resolution is extremely frustrating. I would appreciate an explanation of what steps are being taken to improve the condition of the equipment and address the security concerns so that members can feel confident using the facility.

I have experienced several personal trainers since I relocated to CA not keeping appointments or not serious about the health and fitness industry.

If I had to be picky, the aqua bag has been out of order for the time I've been there, would be nice to repair or replace this so it can be used.
