We ordered two small personal pizzas. I had the pepperoni, pineapple, bell pepper, mushroom, small pizza with red sauce and thick crust. My husband ordered the ground beef, sausage, pepperoni, pineapple, bell pepperoni, and extra tomato sauce, with extra thick red sauce,and thick crust. As I bit into the pizza, I keep thinking how happy I was eating my slice of pizza. The portions are large even for the small slices. You'll be happy you are at Big Al's. Please be patient. The food is not so good. They take an hour for a pizza. The staff only speaks Spanish and looks at you dumbfounded when you speak English in America. The cheese was stretchy and delicious, bread was tasty, pepperoni was great quality and wings were fresh! There was only 1 person when we came so please, be patient with them. I walked in & smelled burnt pizza. I asked if the pizza had been burnt she replied no. I checked one but should have checked them all. The bigger one was indeed burnt. Worst customer service in a long time. Even though their prices are absorbent, I thought I'd help a local business. They ignored me when I walked in (I had already ordered by phone) because they were taking another phone order. Walked away never said a thing. Finally received my order, the toppings were minimal. I asked the young girl at the front desk and she explained that they just happened to be where they cut and the feel in the cracks. Never offered to add a few more pieces of Canadian bacon. I also ordered a large salad and they gave me 3 mini Italian dressings. I asked for 1 more and they said they would have to charge me after spending almost $60 for 2 pizzas and a salad. Honestly the only reason I can imagine people still go here is purely because it's the only pizza place in Lake Los Angeles . The food is fine but honestly not worth the increased prices at this point, the fact that they stopped delivering over a year ago was enough to stop ordering from them almost ever because if I would need to drive to get a pizza might as well get one from a better place. And today after finally deciding to give them another shot they proved to have poor service even when ordering for pickup. I had made a call to order some pizza and some wings that were going to be picked up by a third party, I gave them both the name and number of the person who was going to pick it up. They said it would be 35 minutes, they didn't call or anything after that time so we just assumed it was ready to be picked up. They went to pick it up and they said that there were no orders under that name. Eventually they ended up saying "oh was it a medium pizza and wings" we had already told them we ordered pizza and wings, we did not say the size but they knew they size anyways now and were acting like we didn't already tell them we were there for that. Their excuse was "well you didn't say what kind of pizza it was" it shouldn't be that hard to assume someone with the name and number I gave would be picking up that order. They said "we could make it for you now" so after having waited already for like an hour it seems what most likely happened was someone didn't communicate that the order needed to be made or that the order was even put in by me and they then realized they made a mistake and instead of admitting to it right away they decided to waste an additional like half hour. Did not go ahead with that order as that would just be wasting even more time and money on a place that only stays in business because of lack of competition. This place rocks! When I call my order in they are always respectful and attentive. The antipasto salad is delicious. The delivery times are usually between 45 min to an hour. The delivery guys are sweet and they are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you are satisfied. One time I forgot to order drinks and the delivery guy drove back to the restaurant and brought back drinks. Visited this business yesterday! Picked my Mom up a pie for her 87th birthday! It was one of the best pizzas I've had in years! Reminded me of NY pizza. The cook/owner was very nice! This place is hit or miss! We moved out here in Dec 2018 and thought the pizzas were amazing! But over the last year and a half it's slowly gone down hill so we no longer order pizza. Sometimes the pizza is super soggy and the toppings fall off and sometimes it's too doughy. On the rare occasion though, you can actually get a good pizza! We'd rather make the drive to Pizza Rev or BJ's or even Little Caesar's when we want pizza. We were craving pizza and decided to try their Calzones and might I say, we were impressed. Their calzones are actually better than the pizzas! Better enjoy the calzones before they too go down hill and we stop ordering completely. Whatever you do, don't order the Alfredo pasta!
