This was my first time going to Poppy Pizza because they have 3 Vegan option. I ordered a Vegan Veggie pizza with on onions. The veggie pizza comes with tomatoes, black olives, bell pepper, and onions What was brought to the table was a cheese pizza, I'm not sure if it was Vegan or not. When I returned the pizza to inform them it wasn't what I ordered they was asking do I want a "Vegan Vegetarian pizza" Vegan and Vegetarian aren't the same, but the man asking me the question was using the word vegetarian meaning veggies. I've been Vegan now for 15 years and this showed me he has no understanding of what the difference is. I'm sure I will never return to this pizzeria I'm not sure if I was given a Vegan pizza or a Vegetarian pizza or if my food was tampered with because he wasn't happy making me the pizza that I ordered. We truly enjoy this restaurant, and my family and I frequently order calzones here. The young lady at the front is consistently kind, attentive, and welcoming, which we really appreciate. During our most recent pickup order, utensils and the usual ranch or marinara sauce were not included. While this was a small oversight, it stood out because those items are typically provided. Placed a to go order and got a chicken fettuccine Alfredo with some garlic bread and the pasta is so creamy and paired well with the garlic bread. While visiting Lancaster, I wanted to pick up a quick and easy dinner to eat at my hotel room. Stopped in here and ordered a small pepperoni pizza and the pasta primavera for take out. Staff was friendly, and it was a comfortable wait while my food was being prepared. The place was clean and well decorated, with some great music being piped into the dining area. My meal was brought out well packaged for transport, and was almost too hot to eat when I got back to my hotel room... almost. The pizza was decent, but the pasta was amazing! I was told 10-15 minutes for my pizza to be ready. 15 minutes later, one of the ladies comes and asks what I'm waiting for. My pizza took another 15 minutes more to come out. There is a lack of communication between the lady at the register and the workers in the back. While waiting, I saw other customers get a pizza delivered with the wrong toppings, another customer didn't get the wings and drinks that were ordered, and the other workers seemed frustrated with the woman at the register. Emma graciously took our order We did a large pepperoni and sausage. The sauce is so good and the crust is outstanding! I'm VERY picky about pizza because I watch what I eat and EVERY calorie counts, so when ANY food is bad I stop eating it. THIS PIZZA made me want to eat it until my pants popped! The pizza bread paired with the seasonings and cheese and pepperoni in perfect ratio makes this a visit to remember. As for the ambiance, it is a nice friendly atmosphere. This place has SO much potential! The food was good- we ordered pizza, salad and spaghetti. Pizza and salad were pretty good- nice size also! The pizza seemed like it was overloaded with seasoning. They only sell beer and wine alcohol wise which is fine. If they did live music often or even karaoke with a pizza and "beer bucket" special they would have a good thing going! Restaurant is clean and bright. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Restroom is clean. Location is convenient to lots of other great businesses. The rolls they build their sandwiches on are the best around! Pastrami is salty in the best possible way and they put plenty of it in the sandwich. Their fries are perfectly crispy outside and fluffy inside. They have pizza by the slice which is super affordable and convenient but you can also order whole pizzas which they make fresh with quality ingredients. When I asked the cashier, who most likely was the owner, why everyone else's pizza around me, while in the restaurant seemed to be dry and mines was drenched in oil, his response was, the cooks are trying to show off to you. We went to Poppy's Pizza on the Blvd last night based on recommendations from either the Facebook AV Restaurant Review page, or the Facebook AV Restaurant Support group. Must have been the support group, since they don't allow negative reviews. It's the old Lemon Leaf location, but with none of the charm or ambiance. We ordered a large antipasto salad and the large artichoke feta pizza. The salad was sad. Hardly anything on it. The pizza had artichokes and olives so the ingredients are available to add to the salad. For a $16 salad it should've been better. It came with two very small salad dressings. When we asked for a third they charged us $0.50. The pizza looked better than the salad for sure. We were hopeful. Sadly it lacked flavor. Even salt. So disappointing. Had been hearing about this place for a couple of days. I was very excited about getting to have pizza since I'm lactose intolerant and they had vegan cheeze. It was delicious. My wife got the Shrimp Alfredo which she was in love with at first bite. The staff were very nice, the place was clean. My only feedback would be to add a radio. It was as quiet as a library in there. Even with people at tables, the quiet just kind of made you feel the need to be quiet. Which can be nice, but it did make the place feel a little awkward.
