Oh My!!!!! We wanted Mexican Food.... Drove to 3 different restaurants to celebrate the big 30 Anniversary... Nothing open on Memorial day in Palmdale/Lancaster for Mexican! Wound up going to where we knew would be wonderful food! Gino's Italian Restaurant. Business was "steady", but they had one very committed waitress, who I would swear was Italian! She knew the menu and the descriptions of items I did not even know and I am 100% Italian! This young women made sure to bring us everything we needed and more! She was busy, but made sure we were taken care of. THANK YOU SASHA (I hope I am spelling her name corrected). You are truly an "Asset" to this restaurant and you not only made sure we were well taken care of, you made sure all of the dining room guest were as well and in the other rooms. Solid lunch spot in Palmdale to go. Gino's is a AV staple and for what it does, they do a great job. This is family style American Italian. Nothing pretentious or trying to be extravagant. The dishes are traditional, the portions are large, everything is fresh. Most times I get the antipasto salad but today I went for the steak special (great deal for 20 bucks!) and had chicken Alfredo. Everything comes out quick too. This restaurant came recommended by a few people I know. I was in a group of 12 and the waitstaff were very accommodating. The restaurant is large and tastefully decorated. I felt very comfortable in their dining room and that made for a good dining experience. The lunch menu is huge. It was hard to choose since everything seemed appetizing. I ordered the eight ounce sirloin steak with Tuscan potatoes and asparagus from their special lunch menu. I also had a side salad for an additional cost. The portions are large for lunch. The steak was a baseball cut sirloin which I ordered medium rare. It came out rare to medium rare which is good. The steak was seasoned well and flavorful but could have been more tender as it was slightly chewy. The side salad was fresh with a topping of grated cheese. It came with balsamic vinegar only as the dressing. This was sharply acidic without an oil to temper the vinegar. The Tuscan potatoes were very rosemary forward in seasoning and needed a good sprinkling of salt to balance the flavors. The asparagus were slightly over in cook time but okay flavor wise. All in all, I still felt I had an adequate, satisfying lunch despite the flaws. The price point for the steak meal was a good value at $19.95. The garlic bread, however, was excellent and came with dishes of bolognese and marinara sauces for dipping. Both sauces were flavorful and definitely would be good over pasta. The garlic bread is the winner here. This restaurant is worth another visit if I am in the area again. The waitstaff provided friendly and efficient exemplary service. read more

As a full blooded Italian whoop grew up on mom's coming I highly recommend their food! The portions are very generous, the garlic bread comes with the meal and they get the hardest part of Italian food right. Exceptional sauce! Came here for my cousin's graduation luncheon. They serve you first time around, but then it's pretty much open table as soon as everybody eats. I had chicken Parmesan beef lasagna, and an Alfredo veggie dish. The Alfredo sauce was the best as it was vegetarian and had good flavor and pasta was cooked perfectly. The lasagna was very dry. I didn't even finish it. Chicken Parmesan was very good. Decently size and the sauce had great flavor as well. Lemonade was perfectly sweetened. Not overly abundant with sugar, but just enough. Excellent food and service. We are visiting from Dallas and have eaten here twice in the last week. Lasagna one night, manicotti the next, the food in both cases was hot and very flavorful. Terrible terrible terrible service. Came here on a Friday night, not that busy. Seated right away and were told our waiter would be right with us with water and garlic bread. 10-minutes later she shows us with literally nothing. Took our drink order and left. 10 minutes later, drinks arrived and took our order. 15 minutes later the food arrives and I had asked her for some Parmesan cheese for my daughter spaghetti...and then she's gone. Not for 5 minute, not for 10 minutes, or for 15 minutes, for about 20. I had to ask another waiter for boxes and then as I got up to go ask the receptionist for not check lo and behold our waitress shows up. I confront her about disappearing and she snarlingly and rudely said she had another party in the other section. Mind you, 20- minutes without the cheese and drink refills. She had a very bad attitude. As for the food, my plate was good, but my wife complained the chicken was tough...but since our waitress disappeared we couldn't address it. All of the other tables around us had wait staff waiting on them left and right. We are extremely disappointed and will likely not be back. We visited on Tuesday evening for dinner with a party of four and it was a very nice experience. We arrive and were immediately seated in a spacious booth, and drink orders were taken. We started with a Caesars Salad, Calamari, and the complimentary garlic bread. All were well prepared and tasty. From there we went with entrees; Rotelli Rustica, Chicken Pancetta, Lasagna, and Linguini with Spicy Blackened Shrimp. The meals were delicious with very large portions. The linguini could have used a couple more shrimp. The highlight was the service. Michelle was friendly, prompt, and professional. You could not ask for more in a server, give her a raise! I've been going to this restaurant for years. Yesterday was the worse experience I've had! The most rude waiter serve me and my family. We had to ask for plates , more drinks, while talking to him he walked away and I was still talking to him. While the food was delicious it was ruined by terrible service. I always loved their garlic bread I asked him to bring us some and he never did . I ordered a pasta with light sauce he didn't do it as I asked . Very rude server. My family has been eating at Gino's for decades! I moved away and recently came home to visit. Of course the first thing I want to do is visit Gino's! So I went with my family for lunch today, 2/17/24 at 12pm. Our waitress was great. The food was good. Unfortunately, one waitress who was the server for the table behind us, ruined the experience. Suddenly in the middle of lunch the waitress yells "use your words" speaking to a young lady at the table behind us. The waitress went on and on and on about her rant to the family. She was loud. Unprofessional. And such a bad look for the establishment with how she was dressed, how she carried herself, and especially with her bull hook looking nose ring (septum piercing). Further more, the ambiance has really gone down hill. The wine has gone down hill too, they used to have such a fine collection of wine to buy from. The women's bathroom looked pretty rough. So sad. This used to be the place to go back in the day. I guess as the Antelope Valley continues to go down hill, so goes some of the best restaurants with it. It's all really too bad. The area is run down and there were homeless around the parking lot. Which made me feel unsafe. The appearance of the restaurant inside is very nice, but from the outside it doesn't look inviting. It must be hard to compete with Olive Garden, since both offer Italian food. Very good food, however, I must have chosen the wrong night to dine there. They have a long history in the Antelope Valley but tonight they more than missed the mark. The hostess seated both of us at a table where we sat and sat and sat some more. With apologies, after waiting approximately 25 minutes, the hostess brought us some water and garlic bread assuring us that our server would be there shortly. Ten minutes or so passed as we nibbled on the delicious warm garlic bread and our server appeared and apologized for the wait. We immediately placed our order for two cocktails, an appetizer and an entre to share. Next we received one of the two cocktails and was asked about what brand we wanted for the second one. Later the appetizer arrived and I waited patiently for my cocktail which eventually arrived. We finally were served our entre which was more than excellent, the Chicken Pancetta. We finished what we could eat and waited to secure the bill so we could leave. We were finally successful in getting the bill but having the opportunity to pay was another issue and finally, exhausted, and tired I went to the cashier to pay. The server was there and handled the transaction. I felt bad for her as she was given a large table in a private room with a bunch of people who wanted separate checks. None the less, that wasn't my problem but the restaurant's issue. In frustration I asked if there was a manager to speak with and was advised in concert, by several employees, that there wasn't a manager there and that they were not allowed to give out his information. I didn't ask for his personal number and was surprised that his name and the phone number of the restaurant were carefully guarded secrets. Eventually one of the other servers intervened and offered to allow me to talk to the manager of the kitchen who later sent word that he wasn't able to offer any compensation. I never asked for anything. I really just wanted to be sure that management was aware of the failure of the staff to see that there was a problem in the service and find out where the issue was. I left after the hostess announced that she didn't know what the problem was that I was complaining about. That comment was beyond insulting as she had personally witnessed the delay and intervened and attempted to mitigate the wait by pouring two glasses of water. Frustrated I left after explaining that I wasn't looking for any type of compensation. I was well aware of the reputation of the restaurant including their history with Barone's and didn't want to leave the place without letting someone know of the failure this evening. Please note, I paid my bill in full, I left approximately 22% gratuity for the server and simply wanted the restaurant to step up to the plate and acknowledge an issue that certainly needed not to be repeated. The food is excellent but tonight was certainly not indicative of the reputation that has kept them in business in this community for years. read more

Gino's is always fantastic dining. From the exceptional service to the delightfully delicious food, Gino's is the perfect place for a fantastic dining experience. Their bruschetta is always fresh, and abolsolute devine. The family size antipasto salad with their homemade Italian dressing is by far one of my favorite salads in the Antelope Valley. My girls love their bolognes e, my husband is all about the canzone, and for me it's the eggplant parmeasan. The restaurant has a calming, romantic ambiance with comfortable booths. I had major surgery on Fri. On Sat, I was released from the hospital. My son ordered 2 plates of sausage/rotelli, 2 lasagnas and the garlic bread. He had it delivered w/grubhub. I couldn't figure out why it was so much $ until I looked at the receipt. The lasagnas weren't included in the delivery. I called Ginos and mind you I was in extreme pain. I asked if Grubhub forgot the lasagna? They said, no, we have it here.We forgot to give it to them. I said, can you have that delivered. They said no. I asked why and they said, because you have to pick it up now. I said, I am in excruciating pain and I can't drive. Anthony, the owner said there's nothing I can do about that. I said, can you have grubhub, deliver it? He said nope can't do that. You have to cancel or pick it up. I said it's not my grubhub. I don't know how to do this. I'm in pain. He said, I don't know what to tell you. I said this is effing ridiculous. He said, oh, you want a curse you don't get anything and hung up on me. Very rude! I didn't even want Ginos Every time I eat there the food is horrible including this time. I only took a small bite. Really my son didn't realize I was supposed to eat bland. To Anthony, Learn some manners, to be humble, and some kindness. And from what italian to another supposed italian... Learn to cook italian food properly. This stuff was horrible.
