Absolutely love Big Al's pizza! Family run, handmade pizza! We have been ordering from them for 20 years now!

This review is based on my customer service ONLY! I In fairness, the food is almost always five stars. Customer service is usually 3-4 stars. They have delivered the food late on many occasions, but usually only 30-45 minutes or so. I have lived in Littlerock since 2016 and my daughter or I, order from Big Al's once a week or every other week, sometimes twice a week. Like I said, their food is amazing. Some orders are over $100 so I know I have spent thousands of dollars over the last six years with Big Al's. Tonight I ordered a thin crust, three topping pizza with wings at 7:51 PM and was told delivery would be in about about an hour. At 9:29 PM I called to inquire about my delivery time. I am only a 1/2 mile from their location. They, apologetically, informed me that the order was delayed because another customer placed an order for 25 pizzas. I said, ok, but I am really close to you, about a half mile. Please have the driver call me. No phone call was made. The driver showed up at 10:01 PM. The pizza was warm, but the slices separated like a slice of bread. A hot pizza will have a stream of hot cheese, ooze from it each slice as it is pulled apart.! It's one of the reasons we love pizza so much in this country. The cheese was warm but solid, so I put three slices on a plate and put them in the microwave to heat the slices and melt the cheese. I am starting to stew over this now. If I only ordered from Big Al's a handful of times, I would not have even bothered calling them to complain. But, seriously, I order from them almost weekly, and I even give the driver a $6 tip for the half mile, five minute drive. That's $60 an hour if he delivers to me all day. After I begin eating, I begin to reflect on what real customer service is. Just because my order was not for 25 pizzas should not mean I am immediately put on the bottom of the delivery schedule. I am only a half mile from their location! I called Big Al's back at 10:11PM and I spoke to Ruben. He was not rude to me in any way, but he keep interrupting me and never fully listened to my concerns. He initially said I could return the pizza for a refund, but I had been waiting since 7:51. Sorry, but I was hungry, I wasn't going to send it back at that point. Seriously?! I explained to him that the pizza was an hour and and 10 minutes late and should have been delivered about 8:50PM, per the cashier who took my order. He said he could not authorize more than a $5 or 10% discount. I asked if I could speak to the owner. He said the owner was not available. I then asked if I could have the owners name so I could contact him/her, and Ruben replied that he WAS the owner. I said, well if you are TRULY the owner, you can authorize anything you want to. Again, he was not disrespectful in any way, but he continued to interrupt me and never just listened to his customer's concern. Anyone who has any real experience in the service industry KNOWS this is the most important thing to de-escalate a client. You have to listen. I work for one of the largest air conditioning companies on the west coast and I have had to deal with 100's of irate customers over a 26 year career and I would never interact with a customer concern in this manner. It is not professional and only leads to bad reviews. I love Big Al's and hate to think about discontinuing my business with them; but if I am going to continue to be put on the back burner and receive food that is not hot because of the dollar amount of the next ticket, I guess I will take my business elsewhere. This should have never escalated to this level. Once Ruben, supervisor, manager, owner, whatever he is, was aware of the situation, he should have de-escalated it, but instead, I was was offered $5. ***UPDATED REVIEW*** Went back to Big Al's so my kids and our friends could see what we raved about and sadly I have to admit what (I hope is a fluke) happened. Ordered a jumbo Buffalo chicken pizza, half pizza half cheesy bread pizza, and a family size chicken salad. We waited WELL over an hour for 2 pizzas and a salad!!! By the time we got home, our friends had already left to go eat dinner elsewhere and my kids already made sandwiches. 60 bucks wasted for tonight's dinner and we didn't get to show anyone how awesome this place is... Total bummer, I hope to give them a third chance but I'm not aure my husband wants to. I'm not usually a fan of pizza but I used to love it when my husband would drive me to Thousand Oaks to order from Winners Pizza. Never again will we have to travel for AMAZING pizza! This place is legit and I cannot wait to bring the kids back here. The BBQ chicken and pineapple pizza is out of this world! Sorry Winners, you've been replaced by Big Al's read more

We have been regular customers for the past 20 years. It was not until recently that we have had a problem with the Big Al's. The last 2-3 times we have ordered food, we were always told 30-35 minutes for pick up. And every time we would go in to pick up our food they would say we are waiting on the rest. It will be 15 minutes. Well after 15 minutes 1 item will be done and then they will say another 15-30 minutes for the rest. Well tonight we gave them 45 minutes before we made it there, just to be told the pizza is done and they still need to cook the spaghetti and the other two items. It will be another 35mins. Needless to say three trips in and 2 hours later our food was still not done. Their excuse was they were busy. I understand how busy things can get, but do not lie and waste my time stringing me along for 2 hours, when they told us 30-35 minutes. Plus there was other costumers that ordered while I was waiting and their orders were completed before mine. Never again will I waste my time and energy waiting for food from this establishment. At least dominos gives accurate pick up time frames. read more

Pizza is always good! But if you have a big appetite try the big Al special plenty of toppings but makes it really good. Or sometimes it depends on the pizza maker that makes a pizza. read more

Only been here once . My coworkers ordered salads & I ordered pizza. Pizza was terrible, sauce was gross cheese was gross . The crust was good. They do deliver & their salads look amazing. 10/10 wouldn't recommend the pizza but I'd be willing to try something else. read more

I called 8 times today and was out on hold for about 9 minutes the last time. When my husband came out I asked what he wanted to order and the girl with a thick Spanish accent hung up on me. Complete and utter disregard for business. I order from this place once a week when I don't want to cook-but I am DONE. You have the worst food ever anyway(I order because I'm too lazy to cook) so it's no loss to me. And the girls you have taking orders are complete MORONS. Actual and complete morons. They have SO much to choose from! There's literally something for EVERYONE here, so much selection and variety! The pizza is amazing but the wings were even better! This Will be my go-to spot for pizza in Palmdale going forward! Definitely try it if you get the chance! I used to really like Big Als but the last few times I've ordered from them the pizza is consistently burnt. I ordered again tonight and they delivered and left. I opened the box and my pizza was black on the bottom. I called and complained and she told me they would make me another one and it would be sent over when it was done. Finally got it at 745. By far the worst customer service i ordered for the first time as a new resident and i ordered a large pizza with Alfredo pasta and a salad and soda with cheese bread and was a total of like 50 something and i placed the order at 6:30 pm and they delivered at 9:30 On the day of the fight i was told 1 hour 45 mins delivery guy showed up and had another person in his car delivery people have helpers now ??? And i get cold food call and they tell me to call back for a manager and i call and they don't answer anymore till the next day and act stupid about it and don't care to please a customer or even try and reason with them . *******Update: Came back for another wet burrito a few days later equally as impressive as the previous one. I know any one can stuff a bunch of rice and beans in a large tortilla but there is plenty of shredded beef. I don't have a kitchen scale but I would estimate the total weight of this dish to close to 4 lbs and easily over a pound of shredded beef. The grilled jalapeno is a nice touch as well********* I'm not a huge fan of their pizza but everything else here is AMAZING! I live just a stone's throw away and have eaten most of their dishes throughout the years. They are named Big Al's pizza but Pizza is a small part of what they have to offer here. Things I would Highly recommend: 1. Shredded Beef Wet Burrito. Guac is made from scratch and the thing doesn't even fit on the plate taste amazing and could easily feed 2 people. 2. Their large selection of personal size calzone. these can kind of be hit or miss but when its good its great and when it's not, it's still pretty good. out of the 20 or so I've eaten maybe 5 had issues with being a little over or under cooked and once it was both. 3. Quesada, Huge again likely enough for 2 and nearly perfect everytime. all of these are under 10 bucks and a great value for the money read more

DO NOT ORDER HERE YOU WILL BE SORRY THIS PIZZA IS GROSS ALlWAYS. If I could give a zero I would. I ordered a pizza well done and mozzarella sticks delivery. 2 hours later no response or delivery. So I called. They young lady was annoyed that I called and told me to come and pick it up my self if I wanted it. I told her I could not. She then told me I'll need to wait longer. I asked her if my food was going to be fresh because we all know it's cooked and waiting for the driver for 2 hours. Pizza crust recipe is not consistant. I order Hawaiian pizza with a two liter each time and sometimes I get an amazing garlicky crust with freah toppings....and sometimes I dont. When I speak to the lady on the phone about my favorite crust she says if I pay more for the supreme, it will have garlic on the crust. I paid extra last night and did not get a "supreme" pizza. I got their regular crust. They do not run A/C in their resturant so I always order for pick up. read more
