We called to check where our food was at 6:41 and we were told the driver was on his way. 7:24 we call again and we were told the driver is behind on orders but is on its way and will be here in 10 minutes. 7:45 and it just got here and our food is pretty much cold. Best pizza option in east Palmdale. It's bomb food. People say it's greasy but it's a damn pizza! If your that worried buy a salad. We did notice that anything over an xl pizza accumulates extra grease but you shouldn't need anything bigger than that anyways. Don't order from here if you're starving though, they take their time and you might get grumpy. read more

So many widely mixed reviews on this place to date... So far I have tried the Chicken Strip pizza and the lasagna. Both were well priced and very good. The pizza crust has a very definitive taste to it and it IS good! I will continue to try the different dishes at this place and try to keep my rating updated as it goes. read more

So here's Big Al's Pizza, which also served Mexican food, burgers, sandwiches, and probably other stuff that I haven't gotten around to trying yet. Their pizza is awesome! Their burgers are awesome! Their tacos are awesome! Well, I haven't gotten bored of those three yet, so I can't say much about the rest of their offerings. They deliver, and on this point, they're not very quick. Of course, nothing can be called "quick" out here, so they're probably fast on the bell curve. Still, if you're ordering a pizza, order sooner than you would from Pizza Hut or whatever. As far as their service, I've found it very good. As with other mom and pop places, you won't find teenagers tossing prepackaged frozen food into microwave ovens. You'll find real people making real food with their own two hands. As such, it isn't going to be as fast as Pizza Hut or McDonald's, nor is it going to be as consistent. 05/06/2015 I've ordered delivery seven times now. Most of the time the delivery is an hour or less though twice it has taken up to two hours. Tonight's delivery arrived in only 35 minutes. The food here is great. I've ordered pizza, fried chicken meals, big burgers, wet burritos, tacos, and calzones. Tonight they forgot to include the chips that come with combination plates (I ordered a wet shredded chicken burrito and grilled chicken taco) which are supposed to have rice, beans, chips, and salsa. I usually receive ranch dressing for the onion rings in the burger combo, but not tonight. The second pizza order did not include Parmesan cheese or peppers, so any condiments should be requested to be sure that they arrive. I also recommend requesting a menu if you plan to be a repeat customer. There are a lot of items and I've been sampling different ones with each order, though I continue to order avocado bacon cheeseburgers and wet burritos. I would have awarded Big Al's Pizza five stars if not for the inconsistent delivery times, the missing chips, and the condiments that sometimes are not included. 04/2015 I ordered pizza two days in a row, once in a Thursday and again on Friday. On the first night, the pizza was delivered forty minutes after ordering it along with red pepper and Parmesan cheese. The second night it took longer than an hour and a half to arrive and did not include any pepper or Parmesan cheese. The pizza was good each time though. I guess Friday isn't the best night to order. I'm going to try again tonight and will review again if service improves because I do like their pizza. read more

So far we have tried multiple dishes over a period of time and have made plenty of observations and conclusions. The Lasagna is excellent and really is closest to homemade as can be, it is absolutely delicious , the sauce is not overpowering and just the right amount of cheese. Their Pizza has not disappointed and with one slight alteration to the way the tomatoes are diced to requesting them sliced, makes in our opinion for a much better Pizza. The Calzones we also had were wonderful and recommended. We have tried the Chicken wings and they are also very delicious. The actual fried Chicken leaves something to be desired as it is similar to Toms #27 Restaurant , breaded in such a way that it is more show then go. We tried the hard shell Taco's filled with ground beef. What surprised us was the immense amount of cheese covering the Beans that come with the meal and the Taco's themselves were loaded up really good with plenty of lettuce , some tomatoes and again loads of Cheese, kind of made us wonder where the Meat was. The fillings over powered the meat, to the point of not being able to really find any flavor in the meat itself. We also tried their Enchiladas and found the sauce tasting like low quality canned sauce, and in reality we ended up getting rid of them in the round receptacle. I feel that the take away from this restaurant is that they prepare great Italian food, but are lacking in quality Mexican food. DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. Okay, so the restaurant itself isn't in the best shape but it has the essence of a mom and pop type shop, if anything. It's small and decent. The food itself is delicious. I grew up in the AV and remember Big Als pizza being the pizza of choice always. Whenever I'm in town I will always choose to eat Big Al's. Wings are delicious. Pizza is top quality with it's melted cheese and tomato sauce filled bites. Can't go wrong. Support the small businesses and you won't regret it. I have not tried anything more than my usual wings and pizza but i imagine all the other items are just as good. read more

I made a Yelp account just to let others know about the horrible customer service. I went in the first time and my pizza was "missing" apparently. One of the workers gave me 50% off my next order as she gave me a different pizza. She told me I would just say my name and I would get the discount. I was going to order a pizza and apparently she forgot to write my name down. The worker on the phone refused to give me the 50% off as apparently they don't do that. Sounds like a miscommunication between workers. I will never again order from a place with such horrible customer service. read more

Never been to this location but the one in lake los Angeles has gotten worse. I ordered a personal pizza and mozzarella sticks they said 45 minutes I was leaving Lancaster to home. Figured that would be ok since it takes 40 minutes to get home. I get there and its already 50 minutes since i ordered. They never started the order . Three tickets on there board one of them mine. I ordered a large pizza (Al supreme) and two dozen hot wings for the dodger game. I ordered an hour and a half before the game and didn't get my food until 40 minutes into the game. Pizza was good. 7/10 for taste. 2/10 for portion size. Their large is about the size of most mediums at other places. Hot wings were terrible. 1/10 for taste. The hot wings were burnt and had no sauce. The wings were also very small and had hardly any meat. Overall this place is way over priced for the quality and quantity of the food. read more

Is this place still there? It's been a while since I've been to that part of the A.V. It was (is?) a pizza place in a strip mall at an intersection in the middle of no place, just down the road a piece from the Los Angeles County Raceway. The sandwiches were pretty good as I remember, but the pizza was outstanding! Large pies, loaded with toppings, and they had their own 3-cheese blend that was really good.You would'nt think that cheddar would work on a pizza, but it did, as part of the proprietary blend. The other cool thing was that they, at one time, delivered to most of the Antelope Valley. The flyers used to read"Live out in the boonies? We deliver there!" One destination was the Crystalaire Country Club, which really is way the hell out there! Good pizza in the middle of the desert. I miss that place. read more

I have been ordering from big als for over 10 years . Until recently there wait times for delivery are extremely long . The last 4 times I ordered I asked for sides of ranch . 1 st delivery no ranch 2nd delivery no ranch 3rd delivery I reminded them that they have not put ranch in my order . And to please add ranch . No ranch 4 th delivery I ordered xtra ranch with my order which I paid for . No ranch So now I decide to pick up my order so I can get ranch with my cheese bread . I go to pick up window and tell the young girl there that I hav not received it in my order the last four times . She tells me she has to charge me for it . I say ok and get my order . No ranch .i decide to call in to tell them about it . And the same girl I talked to told me even though I just talked to her about it . That I need to remind them to put it in there . I had just talked to her . This the dumbest person I have ever dealt with I will stop ordering from big als from now on because if her attitude . I shouldn't have to remind them fir something I paid for on my order. It should be written down . Then the fact she had the attitude that I should remind them after I just did and they still didn't include in my order . And I've been charged for multiple times now . Do not go to big als they don't care about there customers . They have a wide range of food choices-Italian, Mexican,regular American and I have never had a bad meal there over the 20 years I've been going there. I love the staff, they treat me like family. Ordered a large pizza with extra cheese. Took a photo with my hand next to the pizza so it could be seen just how "large" it was. First off my husband ordered over the phone for pick up. Went to pick up after 20 minutes, and still had to wait yet another 15 minutes. Half of the pizza was almost burnt and there was extra cheese but only halfway. Half the pizza was crust. Really dissatisfied with this place. Shouldn't be surprised that they cheaped out on the parmesan as well. The photo of the Parmesan was taken before we used it. While they do have decent pizza, and good sandwiches, I have had MANY orders messed up or missing items from my orders. I will NEVER order anything from them during the week. It seems like they have a better team on the weekends but the people that work there during the week are idiotic and pay little attention to how they take orders and fulfill them. Their Mexican food is just OK. If I order ground beef for tacos or whatever, I think they leave the beef in a warming tray for way too long as it tastes old and it does not look very appetizing. I have had a number of errors on how they charge my credit card. I had another one happen just yesterday. They are NOT careful enough with how they charge for there food. They could do business a LOT better if they cared about what they do ALL the time, not just on the weekends! read more

For years I have heard locals talk about this place in some good and bad ways. Everything from "best cheap pizza" to "maggots under cooked fried chicken skin". Last night, after seeing several unidentified critters in the kitchen while ordering, I had seen enough. Disapointed that I never took any of it serious until now, I write this. The owner does not care if he gets someone sick as long as they pay first. After what I saw last night, I can't believe the health department has not shut them down yet. I plan to call the health department in the morning and report this place for endangering the public health for profit. The employees argue with themselves and their customers. No integrity in the bunch of them. The owner is the type of guy that will offer you a free pizza next time you buy one after showing him a rat turd on the pizza that you just bought. I've said it before and can't say it again. Years gone by this was the only place I'd go for pizza but the guard has changed and they've lost it. My previous posts indicated this place was dying on the vine, I appreciate the old got to go and deserve to have some time off but the "new guard" just hasn't kept up with the old traditions. Used to be I'd pick-up a large, eat half on my way to work, snack through out the work time and finish for breakfast on the way home, those were the days. Now I'm retired living in Acton, driving out of the way for this place and disappointed everytime. Less is not the same, can't get it right. Our latest visit they were OK on the toppings, little sauce (I think it's in there) and we ordered thin crust, well-done (wish I could get the order showing what they called burnt, that looks perfect to me). My Wife picked us up a large combination something, she wasn't real hungry but she knows I'm a big fan. She was disappointed when receiving it, said so too. Didn't recognize anyone except the older gentleman laying-out the crust. It wasn't thin, it wasn't well done and she didn't eat any either, in fairness she wasn't real hungry and isn't a big fan of an everything pizza, pepperoni is her preferred but she has never skipped it entirely. The crust of loaf of bread as I call it isn't the same. Maybe the receipt has changed or has gotten too old, I've heard it takes a piece of the old to make the new, it's missing.
