Do not get a tattoo here! Tons of other options in the area for tattoos. I wanted a simple black lined Chinese character. Simple. I thought any tattoo artist with even the tiniest bit of skill could handle this job. I couldn't have been more wrong. Worst lines I have ever seen on a tattoo. 90% of the tattoo looks like wet ink on a piece of paper. The other 10% didn't even stick in the skin. Got a small tattoo on my wrist here a few weeks ago. A pretty simple tattoo that should be able to be done anywhere. The lines are uneven and half of it is faded already. Paid $120. The girl that tattooed me was really nice but would never get another tattoo by her again. Me and 3 of my friends went to get tattoos at 8 pm on a Saturday when they are supposed to be open. We show up and the shop is empty. I call the shop and get an automated message and they said "our hours are until 9pm Monday - Saturday" but they weren't there. I could not be more disappointed. read more

This is my 2nd review updating on things. I said in my last post that the tattoo I got wasn't up to what I had envisioned, about a month after I wrote that after talking to some people I contacted Dan and told him my thoughts and he said to come in for a touch up. I came in a few days later and he really brought my rose to life. It's been 6 months since I got my original and 3 since my touch up and I am VERY pleased with how well everything went. Hershey did mine and my friend's piercings. My friend was getting her second cartilage done (she had had them done before but it had closed) and she pierced the wrong one (top instead of bottom), but did the right one at no extra charge and gave her free earrings for her third lobes as well-she was very genuine and felt bad but also we were talking to her so maybe we were distracting. I got a cartilage and a naval piercing. Honestly, my friend and I both say this: her ear and cartilage piercing don't really hurt at all-way less than anywhere I've gotten it done previously. And she's very very nice. For my naval piercing, the original clamp and then needle was done very well, didn't really hurt to much either. Very quick. However, when she went to put the jewelry in following the needle, the needle slipped out and she tried to keep shoving the jewelry through, even though there was no needle to guide it anymore. Ouch! She then re-clamped me and I thought we was just going to re-pierce it but she was really trying to save it. She then lined up the holes from the original piercing with the clamp and tried to shove it through-jewelry only-again. This was very painful (even more painful than when I broke my arm). She then realized it wasn't going to work so she re-pierced it, the jewelry followed smoothly, and it was fine. But the pain throughout shoving the jewelry was really bad, except the actual piercing and re-piercing themselves. She felt genuinely really bad and gave me a free belly ring for when it heals. I at first kind of declined because I'm not really about trying o just get something for free out of it, but she insisted and said she had to "make it right," which was really awesome. She was honest and didn't just try to play anything off which was awesome. So other than the mistakes and pain, she made up for it in the end which I think is very important rather than just playing it off or not caring. Recommend her! read more

They have quality people in here. The manager who owns the company is very understanding for people who are getting their first tattoo and their artists know what they're doing. Some of the tattoos in here are very complex for specific customers and I trust these artists to do the right job. Genuine manager and good tattoo artists. What else is there to ask for? My wife and I decided to mark our first wedding anniversary by getting tattoos of each other on out arms. Not knowing where to look, we settled for a search on Yelp and came across Big Al's Tattoo & Piercing Gallery which seemed to have two good reviews that guided our decision. We got there and were met by a welcoming staff of Dan and Johnny. The requirements we gave seemed rather demanding but they were both polite and understanding and made some suggestions on their own on how to enhance the look of the Tattoos. Believe me, we were not disappointed and despite the time consuming process, we are glad to have gotten them. I intend to go back for another one in the near future. So I got a helix and a septum from Hershey here at Big Al's and honestly I wasn't completely satisfied with the experience. I contemplated writing this review because I thought Hershey was a pleasant lady but honestly I wouldn't recommend getting your piercings here. So here's my experience: first things first, I paid with cash before the piercings happened and was a bit surprised to see she didn't wash her hands after handling the money and simply put on gloves and pierced me. My helix went fairly smoothly. She marked a spot with a sharpie (which isn't recommended for use because it can leave a piercing tattoo if the ink sets into the skin when it's pierced) and I said yes quickly and she pierced it, simple. I ended up not liking the placement but I put that on me for not taking a better look at it. But, I was wearing a white shirt the day of my piercing and she didn't give me a napkin or anything for the bleeding that I didn't realize/was told it was doing and ended up dripping a bit of blood onto it. My septum was kind of a whole mess but I don't 100% blame it on her. It was storming pretty bad during the time I was getting my piercings and she had told me that it happens often where the lights go out and I should've taken it as a red flag but missed it ig. So she marked my nose (with a sharpie) and got started and when the needle made it half way through my nose the lights went out and rather than simply continuing the piercing in one fluid motion, she stopped, had someone come and shine a light on my nose with a flashlight and finished it. It was visibly crooked but she told me it was simply because of the swelling and to give it a bit of time and so I did and 2 weeks later the swelling had gone down and it wasn't as bad but it was still crooked enough to bother me considering it's a piercing directly in the middle of my face and so I called and she graciously offered to repierce it free of charge. So I took it out, waited a few weeks then went back. This time she still didn't wash her hands, but didn't use a sharpie and did my piercing and I came out satisfied with the way it looked. However, after she had finished she had said something along the lines of "I could've used smaller jewelry but I just don't like how that looks" which I found to be a bit inconsiderate. I had been planning on getting smaller jewelry once it healed anyways so I was surprised to hear that it was an option since the beginning but just one she decided not to share with me because of personal preference rather than to ask what the customer wanted. I paid $40 per piercing. All in all, I think Hershey was a nice friendly lady who was nice enough to repierce me for free (why I gave her 3 instead of 2 stars) but the piercings didn't go as smoothly as I hope it would if I'm putting holes and metal in my face and ears. I know this was a lot but I hope it helps you (potential customer) choose a place and that it also gives Hershey some feedback and useful constructive criticism, I appreciate the service she gave me notheless! read more

Got a tattoo done here by Dan. He did a great job and it was of a drawing I did. He was very clean and thorough. He showed me how thorough he was with sterilizing his equipment and work station. This is worth the drive from WHEREVER you are. A clean shop, really awesome staff, and a great mix of talent. I have SUCH an art crush on Johnny. He is SO good at being able to take word descript vomit, throw it all against a wall, and come up with art for your body. He left me my hometown stamp before I departed. It ended up looking like nothing I envisioned and better than I could ask for. He also is probably one of the most gentle tattoo artists I've experienced. I got a tattoo here a couple of weeks ago, a simple name and it looks terrible. It looks faded as if I had it for years. Its embarrassing to show anyone. I'll have to pay someone to redo it. I Went to Get my nose pierced For the first time here and the lady wasn't the best at making me feel calm and comfortable.If anything she made it worse for me. I Then went in again Today because my nose ring fell out and I made it very clear that my nose hurt bad and asked if she could be gentle instead she hurt me even more .!!!
