Love this place! They open late and took me as a walk-in. Everyone is professional and have a fun vibe. The staff are very warm and welcoming. I got a conch piercing and even tho it hurt, it was super quick so it wasn't a big deal. Price is reasonable and they keep the place clean. They make an effort to take time for client education, which is super important! Obviously, we have to be in close proximity to each other for these services. A lot of Asian-Americans have been treated "differently" because of this pandemic. No one here was racist to me or treated me like I was dirty. :D read more

My friend and I went to go get pierced together for their birthday. I have been wanting a septum for a long time, and they also got a septum and one helix. We were looking for a place close to Chinatown with a POC piercer. J, our piercer, was very reassuring and precise in going through each part of the process verbally before they did anything. They took a lot of care to measure and remeasure the piercing site before marking it and doing the piercing. They had me check in the mirror before they did the piercing. They were incredibly professional and amazing. After the piercings, they gave very thorough aftercare directions and answered all my questions. BEST EXPERIENCE! Can't wait to work with OBET again! I have never had a custom tattoo done before but found Obet on Instagram and after emailing him, he walked me through the process. When I got to the shop the day of my appointment the artwork he created was absolutely nothing like I imagined, but somehow it was was perfect and exactly what I wanted without knowing it even. He helped me figure out best sizing I was comfortable with and made adjustments as requested and then came up with even more creative suggestions. Impressive with the tattoo of course that I got for my child. Her very first and wow, I am glad that we waited and hired one of their artist. Absolutely loved the look and colors he choose but of course, we wanted to piece tweeked just a little bit which of course he obliged and it only took about 15 minutes to change up. Although we were here almost 5 hours, it was well worth it. I did have an issue with some girls just talking to him while my child (19 years old) is getting her art piece done. I mean come on, you can distract an artist and this is a life time piece. Please ask him questions later, and don't assume you can just walk around where he is tattooing just to talk to him, this is the only part of the visit I had to say was a bit awkward. But still, he is professional and he pulled through with his art. Absolutely would recommend them in a heartbeat, and if you can go and drop a down payment with some ideas, he will customize that and create a work of art that no one else has. This is one of the best shops in Chicago and certainly has some of the best artists in Chicago. I worked with Quori, and he was exceptional. We did a sleeve, so I was in there for many sessions. His custom design was amazing and his tattoo execution outstanding. It's beyond anything I imagined. I also got to see some of the tattoos done by other artists there like Obet and Diana, and they clearly are talented and you can see it in their client's faces ! This shop was recommended by a friend...I went here for a piercing. The place is nice and clean my dissatisfaction is not getting what I wanted. I told Eddie the piercer, that I wanted a piecing where I could use a very tiny stud. I showed him the size I wanted, which they sell at the shop and he told me it would be no problem. Well at the conclusion of the piecing I couldn't get the size I wanted. It was too small to use he said.......not cool. I had to settle for the next size. I was not happy at all..Eddie leaves out key do 's and don't s.. I paid for something that I didn't get. The piecing is done over a month's time frame. Otherwise I would have not paid for something I was not satisfied with. I wouldn't recommend this Tattoo place for piecing.... read more

Got my nose pierced here today, and can I just say this is the best piercing experience I have ever had in my life (and this is my 16th piercing)! JR did an absolutely phenomenal job, was very clear about every step of the process, had a wonderful selection of jewelry, extremely clean and careful, and was very particular about my nose piercing placement based on the kind of ring I was going for. He also gave me really good after care tips and helped me schedule out check ups for if I'm interested in switching out my piercing. The whole team was very friendly but JR was truly a standout character! PERFECT level of professionalism. 12/10, would definitely go back again!!! Awesome place, my Hubby set up an appointment w/ John Sundara @ the Tinley Park Tattoo Convention for a cardinal tattoo. We emailed him a few pic's of the cardinal that my hubby was interested in. The shop was clean and then when we were waiting for the drawing to be done they were cleaning again. John really took his time w/ making sure my hubby was o.k. w/ the drawing (all points, the tail, the head, the size of the bird, the branch,) and he took his time on placing it on his leg to get the best possible placing of the tat. I've been to this place twice, and easily will never go back. The first time I came in to get a tattoo and spoke with the artist there and told the artist what I would like done, in a heartbeat he told me that they don't do pieces like that and told me to go to another shop in the most agitated manner. The second time I came to this tattoo shop was to give this place another chance and in hopes of getting a tongue piercing done and my cousin was looking to get a Chicano style tattoo. The piercer and the tattoo artist seemed completely uninterested in doing anything at all but be on their phones; the piercer explained to me why I shouldn't get a tongue piercing to begin with even though I thought it through. Meanwhile, the tattoo artist was recommending somebody else in the shop to do the piece even though my cousin clearly stated that he enjoyed the artist's work. Had my piercing done in March-April. Had my appointment cancelled twice due to piercer, Eddie, not communicating with me. He was sick once and the other time he went to a tattoo convention but we had an appointment. I had 3 ear piercings done. Had these rubies in that fell out easily and he said they were discontinued... meaning I shouldn't have to pay for new ones less than a month later? Wrong. When i tried to set up my follow up for new earrings and shorter ones, he didn't have the ones I asked for, so I settled for other ones and paid. I didn't like the playful environment from the place. Would not recommend to young girls. He put his hands on me inappropriately thinking I was going along with his joke. I was not. He has thick fingers so he struggles to put in earrings so the session takes longer. read more

Got my roses outlines done here. Zuriel did em and did them well. I just came back from a kick ass vacation and needed to get some shit straight that's been on my agenda for way too long. Upon a recommendation from an acquaintance, came here rather a hole in the wall and am glad I did. Drove by the address and spotted that it's paper'd up. Called the number and was told that they moved some two doors down. Came in and gave them the design that'll be on for life. He made a copy and took care of business. It didn't take too long, just eyeballing the sightlines make me sort of uncomfortable, but it won't matter in the long run. Was only about an hour long which I felt bad for since he squeezed me in before an appointment of his. I tipped him 33% and was on my way. Sucky thing was that he had balled up the remaining lotion/gel for me, I accidentally left in it my jeans. I threw them to the ground and it popped, so now my 511s has a lotiony pocket. I must say, of all the shops that I've gone to, this place is the best. My first experience was when my best friend came to get her septum pierced. Nick is really great, friendly, and knows his stuff! I have 10 piercings so I've been through the process enough times to know that he is very professional and takes his work seriously. He was very helpful and didn't treat us like foolish children when we had questions, like I tend to experience at most other places. He was so great I had to come back for a piercing myself. He put two dermal anchors in my back dimples. The process was quick and they look great! The pricing is extremely reasonable too! So September we Came in and asked for finger tattoos, At first they were hesitant because I guess it's a 50/50 chance that a finger tattoo will heal properly. But Diana was very professional told us what the possibilities were and if we were sure. Of course we said yes and she proceeded to sketch out exactly what we wanted. It was two fingers 2 separate people and two different designs the price was super reasonable to us. The healing process was just as she described it and I really thought my middle finger wasn't going to heal properly but after all it healed just fine I will need a touchup but nothing major but my ring finger healed up perfectly! I'm so glad we decided to go with Archer Ave tattoos and so glad we let Diana take care of us. These two tattoos were my 6 and 7th tattoo done and I finally feel like I found my tattoo shop! read more

Went in got a very basic tattoo, nothing fancy just a simple zodiac sign, very small. Although the staff was super nice and so easy to make you feel welcome I dont believe I would go there again. My tattoo in my opinion and that of others was way overpriced, the tattoo artist might have just been a rookie! My friend had to tell him numerous times that the tattoo looked stretched when in fact wasnt suppose to(glad she was there and we got that problem fixed before the ink got started, Pfewww). The artist that I delt with at the shop seemed alright at first. We met and I paid a deposit so he would start the design. He told me that he would send me a design within a couple days. Those days came and went and when i contacted him again he said he didnt know exactly what I wanted even though we had discussed it. He then said again that he would work on a design and show me in a few days. Again, no response came my way so I contacted him again. He said he didnt have a design and wanted to know if it was ok for him to tattoo free hand on me whatever came to him. I told him I would be more comfortable if I saw a rough outline of what he was thinking so he told me yet again I would see it in a few days. I havent heard from him since and never recieved anything for my deposit nor did I get my deposit refunded. Terrible shop, or maybe just terrible artist read more

I got my first big, artistic tattoo done here, and I am so incredibly happy with my choice. John Sundara did an amazing job on the first half of a piece on my thigh. The creativity, design, detail, and execution was everything I could have asked for and more. He took my reference pictures and turned them into a totally unique, beautiful piece of artwork that was even better than I had imagined it could be. The small parlor has a very intimate, cozy feel, and John made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the process. The venue was extremely clean and safe, and the music and decor were both enjoyable and appealing (the awesome Walking Dead soundtrack was running in the background). Came in here to get a quote with an artist some time ago who was recommended and I was completely disappointed by her attitude. I made an appointment and put a down payment as well. I felt rushed the whole time and if I wanted a change the artist looked annoyed. At the end I was trying to decide on the final shape of a small heart and she was impatient and said " I have some one else waiting." Excuse me but that is horrible service, I made an appointment and paid in advance and never did I give attitude. This was all within the hour, the actual tattoo session was about 30 mins or less, the heart wasn't going to take an hour of your time! She was late, and took more time prepping than actually doing my tattoo. I didn't end up getting the heart because I felt uncomfortable by then. I wouldn't recommend her nor come back to this shop. I had a bad experience and I feel bad for the artists that actually love what they do and this girl who serviced me gave the shop a bad reputation, as I will not recommend them. read more
