I love this place! I get the Pulled Pork Sandwich and it is one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had.

This was my first visit, so I have only one experience on which to base my review. I will update after future visits. The place is quite small inside. But it's nicely decorated in a style that reminded me of a Memphis BBQ restaurant. And it smelled that good too! The menu has lots of good BBQ on it. But I couldn't sample any of that on this visit. I will next time though. What I did have was an Italian beef sandwich and fries. Both the beef and fries were served in generous portions. And the fries were outstanding! The beef was good, but there are places that serve a tastier beef sandwich. This one is light on the flavorful spices that I enjoy so much. If you like more subtley spiced beef you may prefer this one. Like I said, not bad but ordinary. If there is a negative it's the parking situation. The sight is on an oddly shaped triangular lot at a busy intersection. There are maybe a dozen parking spots not all of which are in front of the building. As the inside is rather small that may be sufficient to fill the dining room. But the nature of the place makes me believe that they do a brisk carryout business. That will make it hard to navigate in and out of the lot. I almost decided to move on until I discovered a couple of spots in what looked like they might belong to the next door business. But I was there at what should be the height of the lunch hour and did find parking. Just be forewarned. read more

Have been here a few times recently and have always found the food to be excellent. However, when I stopped for dinner last week I was disappolinted. The pulled pork sandwich was still incredible - and a very generous portion. But the potato salad - usually one of my favorite sides - was horrible. Potatoes weren't cooked nearly enough; were very hard. I should have complained, but that's not my way. If it happens again, I will definitely complain. This time I also had a chocolate milkshake - something I've hestitated to order in the past because of the amount of calories involved. Went there on Saturday place an order for 2 rib tips well done sauce on told her at least 5 times. When the order came out she only placed it for 1 order of tips. eas not very polite so she place the 2nd order and I reminded her the ribs are to be well done and sauce. Like Everyone Else we've been anticipating the Opening of Big Ange's for a Long Time because this part of town in Arlington Hts REALLY needs a good Mom & Pop fast food joint! We went for lunch today and ordered an Italian Beef, Petite Cheeseburger, & Hot Dog. The Italian Beef was Tasty but def no comparison to your Chicago Style Beef like Al's, Johnnies, Portillo's, etc. The Petite Cheeseburger was good but nothing out of the ordinary. We were really looking forward to the Hot Dog/Fries. The Fries were really Good (Fresh Cut) but unfortunately we were disappointed with the Hot Dog. Not sure of the brand they use but def not Vienna & it lacked in taste, snap, and the typical Chicago style toppings. If you're looking for a Mediocre Suburban joint for lunch/dinner at reasonable prices then Big Ange's is your place. We came on July 30 2022, there is a man with beach blonde spikey hair who wears his shirt down and a peace bracelet on his wrist who touched my 16 year old daughter on the cheek and rubbed it after she tried backing away. Later he came out to our table, pretended to spray her and then rubbed her shoulder and said "dont worry kitty, i wont hurt you" and winked. He also hit on my 18 year old daughter at the register. FINALLY! After years of waiting Big Ange's is opening! And to call it a hot dog place would be like calling the Chicago Marathon a stroll down the city streets with a few friends. This place has freshly made food from scratch, like the tamales, meatballs, Italian ice, and dessert pies. I've been anxious for this place to open because I've been passing it for years and watching its transformation. So when I saw some cars in the parking lot tonight I stopped in for a quick meal. Rocco, one of the owners, was so friendly and welcoming, but apologized that he is still a week from officially opening. When he saw my disappointment he immediately said, "I made meatballs. Would you like some?" I asked if I could take it to go and he said, "I'll make you a sandwich." He couldn't have been nicer. I could tell he's very excited to share his food with people. After he wrapped up the sandwich, he said, "Come try some of my homemade Italian ice!" There were 2 couples in the restaurant and we all went over to the case and got a serving. I got his lemon ice and it was wonderful! When I got home I ate the meatball sandwich. I love Italian food and rarely am disappointed when I eat it. It's such a comfort food for me. So even when it's so-so, I enjoy it. But every so often there is the Italian food that stands far above the rest. Regina's on Campbell and Vail (now Carlos & Carlos) used to have that kind of Italian food. Great red sauces, fresh ingredients and handmade all kindza stuff. Ever since Regina's closed I've been looking for that kind of spectacular tasting Italian food. Well when I took the first bite of the meatball sandwich I realized I'd found it again. The red sauce on the meatballs was so good I wanted to rush back and get more. It has a flavor that makes you want to put it in a bowl, tear off a piece of fresh bread and eat it like soup! First of all, lots of rave reviews. My first time visit, attractive location, parking can be an issue, busy corner limited spaces until you realize that you can park some spaces next door. Front sign raving best everything here, I ordered a beef juicy, fries and a medium diet. The beef was a large portion, but the bread was not complementary, too thick, the beef was flavorless to my taste, much better beefs at Johnny's, Portillo. After a dew years of seeing the openin soon sign, Big Ange finally opened! Was really excited to try out the food. Picked up the Italian porchetta sandwich and it was excellent! Wasn't sure what to get but spoke with one of the owners and he suggested it. Nice and porky - super tender. Could have eaten it straight out of the bun - it was that good. My daughter ordered the signature cheeseburger. She's a cheeseburger snob and but it got the thumbs up! The italian ice was delicious! Pieces of fruit embedded - not too sweet and just tart enough. In July I ordered 1lb brisket ($25.95/lb) and got it Home seemed like it was a little lightweight. But food tasted great and ignored thinking it was an anomaly. Yesterday, purchased the same 1lb order and when I got home opened the foam container and visually looked obviously light.
