Beware. I went here quite often for about a year until my toe was injured by an employee. I had an appointment for SNS on fingernails and a polish change ONLY in my toes. Told the lady doing my nails that I had filed them the night before and ONLY wanted a polish change (which was also noted on the books when I made the appointment). All of a sudden, I'm in severe pain and bleeding! She decided to cut my big toenail (to do me a favor), yet injured it! Even when she called to apologize, her voicemail stated she was doing me a favor. I left, in severe pain and bleeding! Called the owner and told her what happened and sent her pictures as well! I had to go to a podiatrist days later and get my nail cut out where she cut it- very painful! I had to make several trips. My dermatologist even noticed my toe when I went in for a yearly check- it was still red and inflamed months later....she said it was caused from trauma. I will NEVER go back to this salon in Woodstock. Other employees that work there are probably great, but I cannot bring myself to ever return. The manager wanted me to come in and get my nails done, but I will never go back. She was very apologetic, but I'll never understand why this employee made a decision to cut my nail. She had no reason to even pick up clippers in the first place! She wasn't a new employee either and used to be someone I wanted to go to. Still got charged for the SNS (which was fine), but she wasn't too bothered by injuring my toe! Wish I had called the health department. My toe is still sore months later and I wonder if it will ever heal 100%. Don't take a chance. Go somewhere else. read more

This was my first time at this salon and it did not leave a good impression with me... The lady who did my nails (I did not get her name) not only cut me on two different fingers from clipping my cuticles, but she kept rubbing the nail file on the cuts extremely hard and she rubbed the nail file on my other nails until they were raw! She didn't even clip my cuticles properly. While my finger was bleeding she still dipped my fingers in the SNS powder and applied any liquid she needed straight from the brush and bottle. Told the lady I wanted my SNS removed and just gel this time and she scoffed and was like SNS is better. And I was like well I would just like gel today. When I left they looked fine but started bubbling within hours of me being home and now they're peeling not even 24 hours later. Big Apple Nail & Spa did a great job when I had a broken thumb nail. Originally I chose this nail salon because they were the first one open at 9am. I was instantly greeted upon arrival and explained my nail injury. The young lady manning the front desk insurance me that my nail can be fixed and I would no longer feel any pain/discomfort. I chose to have a manicure and pedicure, since my broken nail would have to be colored due to work needed to save it. The nail service was great! Vicky took her time and she did a great job with my injured nail. My skin was left very smooth and soft all the oil treatments. Today I got a gel manicure done by Ashley. She has such a sweet and bubbly personality that makes the experience so great! She was able to take my Black SNS off and replace it with pink gel. I have enjoyed being a patron of this business for a few years on and off. Within the last year however, I have gotten a severely ingrown toenail that needed to have the Podiatrist treat it. I have yet to leave in the last 5 months without the skin under my nails bleeding or having hangnails the next day / several days. Went there yesterday and waited an hour after being told the wait would be 20mins. I wasn't too upset by this since I didn't have an appointment. When I finally got in the chair to get SNS, I told the nail tech that I have very sensitive cuticles, as I always make sure to tell them, and typically the tech will understand and do what they can to avoid hitting them. Well, right off I could see the tech was rushing through my nails, and not only do my nails look uneven and bumpy, but my cuticles are all scraped up from the emery board! I've been going to big apple for just over a year. my normal nail person is Ashley, and she always does an amazing job! I scheduled an appointment for a mani-pedi this afternoon because I wanted to have my nails done for my high school graduatio. I didn't catch her name, but the lady who did my pedicure did a great job and was super sweet! then it came time for my manicure. the guy who did my nails (Brian) walked up to me and let out a big sigh. he asked me what I wanted which was a blue French tip (in the shape coffin) but with sharp edging or defined lines. The whole time he kept trying to convince me to just do the whole nail blue, which is not at all what I wanted. Throughout the duration of my appointment, he kept getting up and walking away or would just sit there on his phone paying no attention to me. He ended up rounding out my french tip, claiming he didn't have a small enough brush to make the fine lines (even though there was one sitting on his desk) I was very disappointed in the way that I was treated, and will only be going back if Ashley is the one doing my nails. read more

I went to this salon for the first time today for SNS. I had my old SNS soaked off and a new color put on. My friend had booked us an appointment and we were seated as soon as we got there. That was nice as right after that people were coming in and they were told it was over an hour wait. So while the tech is filing my nails she tells me I need my cuticles cut down. That's fine, but it's been a very long time since I've had that on my finger nails. After she's done cutting my cuticles, she buffs my nails and immediately every single nail starts to bleed. That's why I am rating it 4 Stars. She used some sort of liquid that stopped the bleeding but my cuticles are still very tender. Other than that, the tech was very gentle and quick. I also got a nice shoulder and arm massage. If it weren't for how sore and bloody my nails are this would be the best SNS I have ever received. read more

Had my nails horribly messed up by another nail salon the day before and came in to fix my nails before prom. Was seen by Ashley and she did wonderful with what she had to work with! The other salon chopped up my cuticles, gave me a flared shape and not square how I wanted. Ashley did the best she could with filing and fixing the block shape I had and gave me a short coffin. She took the time out of her busy schedule to pick a color with me to match my dress. (ended up matching perfectly!) She also added a cute design to give my nails a pop for my dress which i didn't even ask for. Just visited this nail salon for the first time yesterday and I was not impressed. Salon is out dated and not clean. We had an appointment for 11:00am and did not leave until 2:00pm. There were 3 of us. 1-fill w/gel, 1-full set no polish, 1-pedicure, 1-toe polish change to gel, 1-kids polish change. Ashley was too busy answering the phone and making appointments for others that she was not able to perform services in a professional and timely manner. We saw numerous others come and go within that 3 hours. For the full set, we got 2 bleeding fingers and for the toe polish change, we had a bleeding nipped toe. Very frustrating and unprofessional! It was a chilly day and when I said so and she brought me a towel for my legs (in shorts)...a kind soul. Even got a bothersome callous I've had for a while the last manicurist I tried missed. My nails are always even, and very nicely shaped. I also like that he doesn't put the acrylic on too thick, but they are not so thin that they easily break. This young man is in college but he works At BANS on weekends while in collage and during the summer he works full time very intelligent I always get a lesson whenever I get a pedicure. He takes his job very serious. He is very professional and does and great job No half stepping I don't mine giving him a good tip because he does a great job. I tried to go to the local shops in Kennesaw because it is closer to my home but the places that I have gone were terrible and they are expecting a tip. This was my first time visiting this nail salon. I normally go to one closer to my home, but I was getting a spray tan at the tanning salon next door...so I figured, why not!? I was told upon entry that it would be about ten minutes, and that time estimate was accurate. I had my nails done by a woman named Misun Cho (I believe I'm spelling that correct but I apologize if not). She was very sweet, and extremely detailed. This meant my nails took longer than usual, but I can honestly say that they have never been done better. I had my pink & whites removed and an acrylic nail applied in a longer length, coffin shaped and painted with gel polish in ballet pink. Which is the perfect pinky nude!! My total was $56 and I tipped her generously. I honestly think the price was well worth the time, effort, and outcome! I'll definitely be switching my normal nail salon to here.
