I was in the area and needed a quick polish change. I was actually heading next door to grab a pizza for later. This place closed at 7 (according to Google) so I figured, instead of getting 'french' - I'd opt for a plain polish job. And I even had a bottle of my favorite OPI polish in my purse (for emergencies such as this - lol.) It was 20 minutes until closing but I know that most salons will do a polish change in the last few minutes before closing because there's still several customers being finished up or customers waiting for polish to dry. As I approached the door, a young lady was sweeping a the floor. She was looking directly at me as I approached. I pulled the door to enter and discovered that it was locked. The young lady seemed to get very interested and greatly invested in sweeping the floor. All the eye contact before - GONE. I double checked the hours on the door - and waited for her to look up at me again, then pointed at the door to let her know that it was locked in case she missed the fact that I had just tried to pull it open. I know some businesses lock the doors for safety. I tilted my head and I could then see that there were no customers inside. As I was turning to leave, she approached the door and said, 'We close at 7.' I said, 'Oh, I know. But it's not 7pm yet - and I just needed the polish on my toes changed.' Keep in mind, I wasn't trying to convince her - I was perfectly fine, heading on down the sidewalk. She turned and said something to the older lady in the salon and then she said, "We'll take you, come on in." Twenty minutes later - with my wallet $18 lighter ($15 plus $3 tip, I am now the owner of the strangest polish job I've ever had. With the exception of my 'big' toes, she left a very narrow unpolished strip of nail bed on the right and left side of each nail. So my nails look very tiny. Almost alien-like. On my big toes, she polished OVER the top edge. And what's strange is she wasn't rushing. She took her time. Even encouraged me stay to make sure they were dry. I kept trying to leave because I felt guilty / worried that they were trying to go home or something (since the younger lady was so weird about letting me in earlier). But the owner kept telling me to wait longer for them to dry while she sat across from me going over her receipts for the day. I saw the horrible reviews before I went in, but I figured since I was just getting a polish change, I'd be ok. I was not. read more

I have gotten my nails done at this salon for years. They are so caring and polite, and have quite a return customer base. Because of that, however, it is not easy to get a chair if you just walk in! I always make my appointments ahead of time. They take their time and take a lot of pride in their work. If anything chips or breaks, they are very happy to fix it. I have been going to Nail Trend for many years now. I discovered it was on Yelp the last time I visited. Lee always does my mani/pedis. She's very precise, has great attention to detail, and is very good at her art. She is very friendly, warm and kind. Since I prefer men to have nice hands, and not chewed to the nub fingernails, and nice feet, without talons to claw me in bed, my hub also gets mani/pedis, done by Julie. Yeah, yeah, I like the metrosexual look, at least with the hands and feet when pertaining to my hub...lol! It's very clean and bright inside the salon. They have muzak playing, but not too loudly, and 2 flat screen TVs that are on mute. One is usually some movie, and the other news. They have around 8 pedi salon spa chairs, and as many mani stations. I'll count them next time to make sure. The staff is very friendly, and they have female & male nail techs. They use OPI, China Glaze & a few other brands which I cannot recall. You can use their nail polishes, or you can bring yours from home. I like their selection, and I have my own Deborah Lippmann & Joan Rivers nail polishes. Yes, can you believe it, Joan Rivers? She has AWESOME nail polish. Check out QVC or Google for selections. They offer UV gel, which I ALWAYS get on my fingernails. Lasts almost 3 weeks before you need a change. The darker the color, the more nail growth you'll see, so it may vary for you. Other services are acrylic nails, diamond nails, China silk, manicures, pedicures, manicure & spa pedicure, manicure & pedicure, fill ins, French manicures, polish change, nail replacement and designs on your nails. I sometimes get my big toes with a design. When I go to get either a manicure, or a mani/pedi, I see the same customers from previous visits. Not just recent visits, but from a few years back, too. To me, that's customer loyalty based on excellent service. I highly recommend Nail Trend, They are conveniently located in a Kroger shopping plaza, so you can get a lot done in a little time with plenty of parking :) read more

Ive been coming off and on to this nail salon for over 5 years and I would say that it is an okay salon. I usually come here when I can't go to my regular salon and I need my nails done ASAP. They do pretty good on acrylics but depending on who does you there might not be any consistency when you come back to get them filled. Also, some times they skip certain things on the Deluxe pedicure. Today I had Jean and she did everything on the Deluxe Pedicure for me and I can honestly day this is the first time in all five years that someone has done all the services that are provided. I always go here for SNS and pedicure. Kim does a great job and they stay. Very clean and nice salon.

I went here for a really long time, probably 5 years. But it seemed like they started getting very careless with me. Cutting my cuticle with the edge of the file, very roughly pulling off the pieces of old nails, letting the sander get super hot against my nail bed. On what was my last visit, one of the ladies was prying off a piece of an old fill and it stabbed THROUGH my nail bed, making me bleed. Excruciating. That was the last time I went there. read more

Well I have been going to this salon for a while off and on, solely because I like a nail tech there. It is really difficult to find a nail tech that does a good job sculpting a nail. Other than filing my nails crooked at times this nail tech is pretty darn good at nails. Since going to her I have always done SNS nails. Well due to the time and cost I decided to switch back to acrylic...and this is where the problem began. Yesterday officially marked the last day I will go to Nail trend. First off, when I stated that I wanted to switch to acrylic she wanted to argue with me about it, stating that SNS was better (aka, easier for them to do and more expensive). Then I requested that she put the foil wrap with acetone on my nails to soak them off so that I would not have to sit there with all my fingers submerged and soaking in acetone. I don't think it is healthy to sit there with your hands soaking for that long in a chemical, plus I had a really bad cut (2 week old healed) on my finger that I was afraid might sting. She refused to do it the way I requested because she said it would take too long. I expressed my concerns to her again and she still refused. I should have got up and walked out then, but I didn't. So we did it her way, even though I'm the paying client. Next I told her I didn't want tips, that I just wanted acrylic over my natural nail. She proceeds to do one thin coat of acrylic. I asked her to put one more coat on them so they would be stronger and hopefully not break. She argued with me about that and refused to do another coat. Well needless to say by this time I am starting to get upset about it all. She spends a couple of minutes shaping the nail as that's all it took with just one brush coat of acrylic on them. Then comes the filing. I told her not to file them (other than what she must do to shape them) because I am trying to let them grow. I tell her I will file them myself. Well she proceeds to argue with me about that and insist on filing them making the shortest nail I already had crooked and shorter than the rest. Then when I showed her the nail was crooked from my view she proceeds to laugh about it like it's funny. I wonder if she did it just because I asked her not to. After all of this she charges me $35, for a job that took her 30 minutes to do (not including the 15 minute acetone soak time. The board stated $28 for acrylics, for a full set, meaning tips. When I questioned her about how much she charged me she said it was because she had to soak my nails beforehand. She charged me $7 for that. I reminded her that she did not have to put tips on my nails, but that didn't matter to her, and she insisted on charging me $35. Let's also remember that they expect you to tip them on top of that. I only tipped her $2 and I really didn't want to do that. Well all I can say is that I hope it was worth losing a good client to her, as sadly, I will NOT be going back there. I do not like feeling as though I am being hustled, upselled or rushed and not getting my money's worth. Very very disappointing!!! I hope she reads this and takes it as constructive criticism to improve her customer service. Greed is always a negative thing. read more

Sorry to say that I was less than impressed by this place. A friend of mine stopped in today for a mani and pedi (we usually go to Nail Culture but they are closed on Monday and we have a big event this week). First of all, they had a very small selection of gel nails which I found pretty disappointing. The nail techs barely interacted with us and sat their whispering the entire time which made my friend and I feel a bit uncomfortable. I gave the lady doing my nails the number for the gel nails and when she was painting them I kept telling her I felt it was too pink, she reassured me it would change with multiple layers. Well, even after 3 coats it was still pink. I told her I needed the color to match that nail swatch I had chosen as I have a big event this week and wanted my nails to match my dress. She then made several comments that I should have told her and she had other customers and such... I kept telling her it was too pink and I was also a paying customer being served THEN! Sure, the place seemed clean and the regular customers seemed happy and the tech *kind of* fixed my nail color but my friend and I walked out disappointed... Not going back. read more

This is my go to spot for nail services in the area. They are great with speed while also providing great quality work. Nail techs are very friendly and know what they're doing. It is not the fanciest looking nail salon, but the service is better than others in the area. I only take off one star because it is a hair more expensive than other local spots, and they don't do as much massage in the pedicure sometimes. Still, I end up going here more than other nail salons. read more

It used to be my go to nail salon. Nice technicians. However, the last time I was there I was unsure of the cleaning methods. The tech did not Bering newly cleaned tools. Have gotten pedicures and gel manicures here 4-5 times over the past year. I prefer the place across the street for higher quality service but their hours aren't that great and the wait is typically longer so that is how I ended up here last Saturday getting a pedicure and gel manicure before I left for a week long vacation. I was there when they opened and they rushed me through my services by doing the gel mani while I was in the pedicure chair which I can't stand bc first it's a completely awkward angle to sit in the chair and to have to turn to keep putting your hands in the dryer. The girl was having a problem with a few of my nails not drying properly probably bc I couldn't hold my hands at the correct angle. I finished at 11:00 am and left for my vacation, that night at 8 pm I put on a pair of ballet flats and the nail polish on my big toes ended up completely scraped off! I have never had that happen before. My gel manicure which I can typically get to last for 3-4 weeks without chipping or peeling up started to come up around the edges on day 4! I got back in town Sunday night (a week after the service) and went in today to explain and try and get a polish change on my toes and get my gel nails fixed. I showed them photos taken the same day of my toes and showed them the gel coming off on my fingers. The woman just yelled at me and said I should have come in right away and not wait a week, when I explained that I was out of town for the holiday she just said it again. She was going to charge me for the polish change bc I picked a different color. I just left and told them not to worry about it bc it was the principle that they should have just apologized for the not great job and fixed it. I don't get my nails done that frequently as it's a special treat that I allow myself for special occasions since I don't have much expendable income. I won't be going back after the way I was treated when asking them to fix their mistakes. read more

I arrived at 3:55. When I walked in 2 customers were leaving and no other customers in chairs. There were 4 employees in the salon but the employee at the front was more concerned with the couple still in the parking lot. When they entered the salon she engages with them before waiting on me. She then walked toward me and said I would have to wait. I left and went across the street to another nail salon. I will never go to Nail Trend again! read more

BAD SERVICE horrible nail techs (tony and sandy) -- run away!! Walked in no one greeted me right away. The owner comes from the back and says hello while 4 nail techs say nothing. The manicure was messy, he kept getting polish on my skin and told me "oil is better" when I asked him to cut my cuticle. I sit for a pedicure and the woman cuts me twice without an apology. I finally ask her to stop. She gets really nasty and says, " I'm cleaning it!". I've been getting pedicures for 20 years only been cut once and they apologized. She was very rough, pushing my feet in the water, saying " water!" As if doing my pedicure was beneath her. I believe she was racist. She talks about me the whole time because she's speaking shaking her head looking right at me. All the nail techs look at me. And the owner says nothing. What she said must have been pretty bad because they all looked at me and smiled nervously. It was very wrong on so many levels. Then the manicure guy comes over for what I believe is his tip. So I asked him, "Why is she so mean?' He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. So, you come for a tip, ask me personal questions but can't be man enough to answer it? I really wish they would not be allowed to speak their language in the store. This woman talked about me every time she got up. And I really wanted to tackle her down for being so disrespectful. I told the owner before I left about some of my experience.
