Good brews, food, service, ambiance & right off the Paul Bunyan Bike/Hike Trail--what more could you ask for? Our server, Zacch helped us find the best brews!

Stopped in while on the way to Grandview and had to get a beer. I had their Hefeweizen and it was descent, not my favorite but a middle of the road beer. Their outdoor space is nice with multiple tables and even a cornhole setup. Seemed a little slow due to off peak times up north but a nice brewery.

I popped in for a flight. The beers weren't bad but I felt they were all hop forward, so I wasn't really a fan. Not bad beers, just not my preferred style. I will definitely stop in again when in the area to try their current offerings. It is a great little tap room and deck. Cheers

Great place to stop and get a quick bite and a fresh cold beer! Got the Big Axe Classic and it was delicious, especially with the side of coleslaw!!! What was even better was washing it down with a nice cold sour beer. If your in the area, stop in!

Nice little brewery/restaurant! I had the chicken tacos and they hit the spot. Prices were a little higher but not outrageous. My tacos were $13. They have some fun seltzers too if you don't particularly want beer! You order and pay at a counter and they bring you the food.

Fun brewery off of 371 on Main Street. The Rueben sandwich lunch was perfection. The Fish & Chips were very good (hard crispy fried-how I like it). Not only do they offer great brews, they also create non-alcohol drinks: Cream Ale and Root Beer. Both were superb-my friendly barkeep allowed me a sample of both, which really made it hard to decide on only one. This brewery isn't far off from the Paul Bunyan Multi-use Trail. Next time we come for lunch, I'm bicycling here! Bike racks not far from patio area!

Usually this location is bustling with a big long line, people crowded out front and standing around laughing and very little parking. However, this particular night, it looked empty. We stopped in with our two small children and the clean eating area was very accommodating. My husband and I both enjoyed apps and a cold beer and our sons each had a kid's chicken meal with a root beer. The eating space is small but cute, exposed beer making in the back and windows to watch the Nisswa traffic. The food was excellent (Smoked Salmon salad with walnuts), Trout and Pita app, fried pickles... it was all amazing.

Very cute bar and fantastic service at the tap room. Mike is amazing!!! I normally go for dark beer, but I'm currently drinking the NE IPA, and it's delicious! They have a full menu with a great variety of options. We definitely plan to come back.

We stopped by Big Axe for a beer and found it to be nice but average. The brewery itself is located at the end of a block of shops and is connected to a neighboring restaurant. That's a nice arrangement as you can order food from the cafe next door and have it delivered right to you. I'm not sure if the businesses are connected financially or not. The menus for the cafe are right on the table at the brewery. Appearance-wise, the brewery was nice -- lots of with the brewing tanks right out in the open to see. A handful of tables, chairs around the bar and some stools at a counter lining the outside wall. The back bar was really cool, made up of wood chunks and very architecturally interesting. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had the Red, which was decent but nothing to write home about. My husband tried the saison, which he said tasted good flavor-wise but was totally flat. He asked the bar tender if he could exchange it, which they did for him no problem. He had the IPA, which he also thought was good but not great. We left without having a second.

Stopped in for a bite, a flight and a growler and was pleased to find it backed. Every time I have stopped in they have had a variety of unique well executed beers. We just had snacks but the cheese curds were diving. The standout beer in a flight was the Guavatron, I believe it was a milkshake IPA. Less lactose than some I have had but very fruity and delicious.

Great beer and a good menu. The owner knows what he's doing when it comes to making quality beer.

Took an hour after ordering to get our food. You have to prepay or we would have left. And they do not seem to care either.

Salad extremely over dressed, burger greasy, place not clean, workers rude. Don't waste your money here.

Very friendly staff & outgoing gregarious brewmaster made for a pleasant visit the evening we hit…read morethem up just before closing time. We got some of their Mud Lake Brown, as it was the only dark'ish brew they had on hand. As someone whose libation du jour is porter or stout, this paucity of dark brews is notable. Nonetheless, the Mud Lake Brown proved to be a fine draft. It has plenty of roasty notes in its flavor profile & a slightly yeastier than expected front end. Body was light, so could make a pleasant all-afternoon sipper. I've had a taste of their limited run Thin Mints brew, which is their Mud Lake Brown doctored with the Thin Mints GS cookies. I've only two words on that selection: "Amazing!!!" and "Exquisite!". It's a shame the Thin Mints brew isn't a full time player on 14 Lakes' roster. Reports on their Peanut Butter Porter were also solidly in the positive realm. So this little gem of a craft brewery hidden away in the north woods is producing some mighty tasty alternatives to the commercial big boys' generic offerings. Check them out if you're in the area, but be aware their hours are somewhat limited.
