I thought this shop is located in a convenient location with ample parking and close to other nearby shops. I was excited to try the boba drinks here, but they also sell food items. Upon entry, I noticed there are no workers around, it's dead silent in there, and it seems the workers just stay in the back. There's a kiosk you place you orders on and pay on, and few minutes later a worker will pop out from the back to give you your items. There is plenty of seating, and it's scarcely decorated with chick items. My sister tried the creme brulee drink with brown sugar boba, I thought it tasted too milky, I ordered the pineapple passion fruit tea and it was far too sweet! I didn't even drink it, I couldn't handle the sweetness. I usually like my teas with little to no sugar, and I wasn't able to really customize it. Best boba in Fairfield in my humble opinion. My absolute go-to is the Caramel Crème Brulee with brown boba. One tip: make sure to read each drink's description, because some come with boba automatically and some don't. If you're expecting boba, you might need to add it manually. Also, keep in mind that they often run out of boba about an hour before closing, so go earlier if you can. Overall, great spot for boba lovers! read more

I was in the area and was looking for a quick lunch and I found Big Band Boba & Chicken on Yelp. I believe it's a fairly new place. When I first arrived there was no customers and no one at the front counter. There are a few tables if you want any to dine-in, but I chose take-out. They have an ordering kiosk or if you want order with someone, you can ring the bell and someone will come out to take your order. While I was waiting for my order there were quite a few people that came through. I ordered the Korean Classic Fried Chicken, Soy Garlic Fried Chicken and the Popcorn Chicken. This trip, I did not order and drinks, so I cannot review the drinks. The chicken were still crispy as they should be, even after I brought it home in Vacaville. Flavor was mediocre as I have had better Korean Fried Chicken and elsewhere. They also sell a few other Korean snack items satisfy your hunger. Absolutely quick service! When I arrived the place was clean, but empty, so ordering and receiving my order was really quick. I ordered the tteokbokki (yummy), spicy tornado potato (had a little "kick" but was also a little sweet) and a strawberry Matcha which was so delicious and refreshing. I came here for a quick bite and left mildly heartbroken. I ordered takoyaki, popcorn chicken, sweet potato fries, and the cheese corndog. Didn't try the boba, so this is strictly a food review. Let's start with the corndog -- or whatever this was pretending to be. There was barely any sausage inside, just a hollow pocket of disappointment and what tasted like half air, half fish cake. I actually broke it open because I thought maybe the sausage fell out. Nope, it was just missing in action. The part that was there tasted like fish-flavored plastic. I even went back to the kiosk to check if the sausage was supposed to exist. Spoiler: it was. The popcorn chicken was decent -- crispy, salty, nothing to write home about but edible. The sweet potato fries were solid, too. The takoyaki? Average. Not bad, but not the kind that makes you text your friends about it. What really killed the mood was the 20-minute wait... for an empty store. I could've caught a flight to LAX and back by the time my food came out. Overall, Big Bang Boba & Chicken has potential, but right now it's giving "late-night frozen snack energy." Two stars for the decent sides, but that corndog deserves its own warning label. read more

They have a kiosk that you order from, but you can also order with staff if you're not too privy to that technology. The restaurant had a friendly vibe. This is the go-to spot for boba. Watermelon Lychee was very refreshing and perfect for a summer day. The drink as-is, no level changes, was a delight to consume. Every sip was simply wonderful. Taro Freeze was a smooth, silky milkshake that reminded me of a cookies-n-cream milkshake but taro flavored. If you like taro, then this freeze is a must try. We gor 2 flavors of chicken: Salt and Pepper, and Lemon Pepper. Both seasoinings are dry so it was hard to figure out which flavor was which. However, both packed tons of flavor. The crunch was amazing and every bite was juicy. Overall, very impressive. We will try the wet flavors for a return visit. It's a small spot, so we enjoyed our drinks while waiting for our chicken to-go. Service is efficient with a self-serve menu kiosk + live cashier help. Daughter only likes taro so they did have 2 options which was great. Their version had the taro milk on top of milk tea which tasted ok per her taste buds. I got the dalgona coffee which employee suggested tasted better then coffee milk tea and I did like it, niece go than tea which she liked. Disappointed with the boba tea I got. Not enough ice so the drink wasn't a great temperature, why are you skimping on ice, you charged me $8.13? I deserve ice. Second, I ordered the Taro milk and literally it was milk and a taro coating around the cup but not mixed so I was just sipping on milk like a little kid in elementary school in the 90's. Third, if you're not gonna put whipped cream in the drink then why put those dome lids? It makes the straw short and hard to reach so now I have to drink my tea without a lid. I've tried this boba place a few times since they opened. In the beginning, I felt like it was a hit or miss, probably just because they were working out the kinks. I usually order their Caramel Crème Brulee Brown Sugar Latte and sometimes it'd just be wayyy too milky. However, the last couple times I've been going, its been consistently good. This makes me really happy to have a good boba shop nearby. Out all the times I've visited, the service has always been good. They are friendly and helpful. They have a little kiosk for you to order your drinks and food off to the side. Their décor inside is minimal but cute. Not to mention, they have FOOD ! The wings are delicious and have been delicious since they opened! I don't have a picture, but trust me they are worth trying ! Recently I ordered the Takoyaki and Cheese Corn Dog. College me would have loved this place. In addition to boba and fried chicken they have the Japanese fish shaped ice cream sandwiches and 1-2 other types of Japanese frozen desserts in the display case by the counter. They have themed seasonal drinks. Usually I get the crème brûlée boba without modifications. Yum! The drinks here tend to be on the sweet side. The sauce on the Korean fried chicken was too sweet. The original cheese fried chicken was better. The bubble tea was good. Give your drink a stir if you got tapioca inside. I prefer sharetea milk tea, but sharetea doesn't put cheese foam in their drinks. So I guess I'll come to Bang bang if I crave a cheese foam cap in my bubble tea. read more

Stopped going for over a year because the drinks got super inconsistent (every visit, one or all drinks were not made well) however I made my way back to give them another try when I saw that they had a Winter special in a super cute dragon egg cup. I opted for the strawberry milk and it was soooo creamy and sweet. They add real strawberry puree so the chunks were delicious. The strawberry crumble also added some fruity texture to the drink, which was nice. PLUS the cup was reusable so I washed it out and now it's going to be a candy jar. I also picked up the caramel creme brulee brown sugar milk tea, chocolate cookie puff cream, and coffee cloud for my fam. They all really liked their drinks too so 4/4 drinks well done is a good sign. We placed an online order, and the drinks were ready earlier than the stated pick up time. They give you text communication which is helpful too. Since that visit went well, I went back last week but we placed our order in store this time. They have self serve kiosk to place your order. If you want to pay by card, you have to use this option. Tap to pay is available. Otherwise, cashier is able to place cash payment orders. There are two stations to order, so shouldn't take too long. A receipt will print for your transaction and they'll call your # once your order is ready. They have a good amount of seating inside, but it's all against one end of the long wall only so it does feel crowded if people are waiting around, or waiting to order. I got the strawberry energy drink this time, and my BF tried the watermelon lychee tea. Both were flavorful and refreshing! The strawberry energy is topped with salted cheese so it really gives strawberry cheesecake vibes once you mix it all in. It's a pretty heavy drink but only comes in 1 size. We wanted a snack so we got the popcorn chicken. I loooove the cute little box it came in. I will say all their packaging is super cute and aesthetic, which is a total bonus. For $8, we did get a good amount of popcorn chicken. The quantity is comparable to other boba shops. If you want chili powder, or salt/pepper powder, they have shakers by where you order. We added a little of both, and shook the box around. The batter on the chicken is a little more crisp than others and because it's fried fresh, you do have to wait a bit longer after your drinks for the chicken to be ready. I'm happy to see that they've worked out some of their kinks and their drinks are made a lot more consistently now. This will be added to my local boba rotation whenever I'm in the mood. read more
