If I had not heard her glowing recommendations I doubt I would have ever stopped here. So, you may ask why would I not have stopped here. Well. Ron's is a food trailer in a business parking lot. It has one small picnic table outside. Just would not have caused me to pull over. Today I was over in that part of town running some errands and planned to stop at Ron's to try out the food. Great decision. I got the pulled pork sandwich ($5). It comes with cole slaw on top, but I had Ron put it on the side. Also, one of the other Yelp review recommended the potato salad ($2). Not that I am a big fan of potato salad, but figured I would give it a try. Ron makes his own barbeque sauce. It is a sweet sauce with a kick. The pulled pork sandwich was great. Meat had a good flavor and was very tender. I must say it was the best that I have had. The "suggestion" to go with the potato salad did not steer me wrong. It was very good. I also enjoyed the cole slaw. They have other items on the menu: hot dogs, metts, steak burgers, chicken, steak and ribs. Since the location is a little bit of a drive for me I figured I may as well get some ribs to go for later. I got a half slab ($12). These appear to be St. Louis type ribs; however, they were meatier than any other St. Louis ribs I have had. My half slab was 7 bones. He cut them apart. It is put on two slices of bread and covered with his special sauce. This was a lot of food for a half slab. As I said, they were very meaty. Ribs were tender and tasty. Excellent ribs. Bread came in hand to sop up the loose pieces of meat and sauce. When you go, and you really should, I would recommend trying both the ribs and pulled pork, so go hungry or bring a friend to share with or have some there and take some home for latter. Lastly, I need to comment on the environment. There is a sign out which says, "no loitering and no cursing". Let me just say while I was there I experienced and observed several interactions and all I can do to describe Ron as "very nice person and a true gentleman" and he really enjoys cooking great food. By the way he is closed on Monday's.

I went with the smoked wings with hot bbq sauce (you could get regular bbq or just dry as well). They were huge wings and absolutely delicious. They smoked them to perfection and the bbq sauce was hearty and flavourful. I got a baked potato with cheese as a side and I really liked it as well. My wife got smoked turkey and sausage and really enjoyed that. The service was excellent and the restaurant really looked and smelled awesome. It was quite expensive for only a sandwich - $14 plus tax and tip. I was disappointed because their restaurant smelled so so so good and the sandwich was just okay. It was messy and soggy. It fell apart when I was trying to eat it. I only ate half before I gave up and threw it away. The other person in my group also ordered from there and was disappointed. I would not recommend.

I ordered the smoked trout caesar salad and it was kind of a letdown. For $12 it's pretty small and there was not much actual trout in the salad at all. What trout there was in the salad included three bones, so watch out for those. My friend that had the ribs raved about them and the peach and prosciutto salad looked awesome as well. I followed Historic on Instagram in hopes they'd announce a day/time/place for me to come chat and brisket. I was a bit hesitant as his web page states that they are official bbq competitors and honestly, I'm not here for the show, I'm here for the flavor and texture. Finally got to talk to Tony(and his dad!) and as I'd expected, they are super friendly and we could talk about bbq for hours. Service was immediate and pickup took maybe two minutes even with me and all my questions. Tony and his dad were incredibly informative in the process and you can see how much they love to make people happy with their bbq. The trailer was parked right off Main St at a local beer house called the Common Beer Company. They mentioned they will be here on the 4th Sunday of every month so I know when and where I can find them. The brisket was absolutely delicious. That day we are brisket for dinner. Last night we used leftovers to make brisket/cheese quesadillas and again. Delicious. The meat is perfectly cooked; faultless bark, juicy and very flavorful. They mentioned as I walked up at around 2p and they had just sold their last few bones of the ribs so plan accordingly. I'll be back, I love supporting a local family.

The tortillas were filled with plenty of chicken and toppings and the taste was great. We went back for hush puppies later in the day, and my daughter still talks about how good those were. Just from a glance at the menu I knew I wanted to come back and try something. I think Urban Vistro is a fairly new addition to the Cincinnati food truck scene and it's a great one. It was a tough night for them with so many drunk people and lots of orders stacked up so it did take a while for my food to come out but it was definitely worth the wait. I ordered the Unforgettable French Toast and the Cincinnati Pig Dog. Due to the long wait I also walked off with a quesadilla that was offered up by the truck's owner. Everything was delicious. I really hope to see this truck around town again!
