Rented gear for two days but was only able to use for one day we had to leave urgently and tried to return next morning but because of insane traffic we managed to get there at 9am and then waited 30 mins to be assisted. Asked for refund for day not used and was told we were an hour late. The owner basically said nothing he could do, which isn't believable as he said it would take hours to sanitize the boots. Don't see how that matters if we got there an hour earlier. I've been to many ski rentals shops that have been way more helpful. The three stars I'm rating is for the staff that was very helpful, to bad the owner wasn't. Plenty of other rental shops in the area. read more

We came during the holiday season, super busy time and service is still great! The people here are knowledgeable and friendly. We were initially heading to a different location, made a call and asked about what time we could rent it today for tomorrow (so we wouldn't have to pay for 2 days since we were only going to use it the next day). We were told a time, and when we got there, another person said a different time. We called here and the time just started for next day rental, so we came and glad we did!!! We have always rented from the other place in the past, but this will be our spot for rental from now on. Wonderful people with great and friendly attitude. We went in to buy goggles and snow pants, and we ended up renting our skis with them as well. Both the quality and the prices were great. This will now be my forever go to board shop!! I have grown up coming to big bear and going to the main local shop. But I encourage anyone and everyone to change it up and come to this family owned shop. I called the shop on thanksgiving 2019. The owners, Vincent and Jewel went above and beyond for me. I had left my board at home because I did not anticipate the heavy storm big bear was going to get, and most of the roads up here were closed. I asked if there was a possibility they could deliver me a rental board. Jewel and Vincent, did not only accommodate my needs, but also went above and beyond with texting me photos of boards, clothes and beanies I was looking for. No one does that. I am so greatfup for the kindness they showed me, and not to mention the board and boots they recommended for my size and weight were perfect! read more

Rented some boots for the weekend and at checkout accidentally clicked the 25% tip instead of no tip. I told the lady at the cash register and she assured me I wouldn't be charged for the tip even though I had accidentally chose the tip option. The total was $42 and some change, she handed me the receipt WITH THE TIP included on it. Why would you lie and say I won't get charged the tip, just to hand me the receipt with the tip on it. I asked for a refund on the order and if she could just recharge me for the rental. She hesitated to give me my refund for whatever reason but, but did so anyway (or at least I thought). I check my bank today to see that she refunded my total for the boots but KEPT THE TIP. What kind of scam is that? Y'all that desperate for a tip? I called the store today just for the guy on the phone to give me hella attitude about making my mistake and only offered a "sorry YOU made a mistake". Refused to refund me the tip because he "would get charged a processing fee". Wow a processing fee of AT MOST 3% for $11. YOU GUYS ARE PACKED ALL WEEKEND EVERY WEEKND. God forbid you pay $14 and give good customer service to one of your customers who made a mistake. Anyways my bank is disputing the full amount and I won't be coming back here because of their attitude alone. read more

The entire staff was professional, accommodating, and kind. They took the time to make sure we all understood how to use our bikes and how to get to our biking paths. Literally the worst place to rent ever. They treated me and my family like we were idiots. They are totally understaffed and rude. They tried to charge me $26 for to rent boot with a boa when my cousin was pay $15. They're a little pricey compared to 500 other board shops around the area with awful service. We were literally in there for 40 min to rent 3 pairs of boot and one board. Service was inconsistent between costumers and knowledge about prices for things was also inconsistent between workers. 6 pm return time when night boarding ends at 8 lol so you have to rent for two days if you want a full day of boarding. read more

My boyfriend and I went up for a board trip for the day and wanted to buy the demo board I road up in the resort. Due to the limited quantity of women boards, they were unable to sell it to me. We decided to venture around the local shops to see what we could find. I really wanted the board that I demoed that day but I knew there chances of that were slim to none. We arrived at Potter's but couldn't find much so he recommended that we pay Vincent a trip at Big Bear Boards. When we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly staff. As we walked in I spotted the exact board that I demoed on the mountain that day! It was like a light from above beamed down on it just for me. Jewel was the associate who assisted us as Vincent wasn't in but she did an amazing job! The board was a demo board as well but she was nice enough to sell it to me. She also recommended some great bindings and all together I got the entire package for a great price. She really spent her time setting up the board, waxing it, and made sure that the adjustments were perfect. I road the board for the first time last week in Sierra Tahoe and everything was perfect. The people who work here are the most amazing people ever! I had recently gone up to big bear for a snow boarding trip and a couple of friends of mine rented out some gear at Big Bear Boards. When returning the gear it seems as if my friends just gathered up all the snow pants in our truck and mistakenly included my own personal snow bib. When calling the shop the next day from our trip i asked the workers if they had seen a snow bib that was mistakenly turned in. The workers called me back frequently to let me know that they were looking for it even at their busy hours of customers coming through. They later got back to me and told me that they had found it and they were kind enough to ship it back to me!!! When receiving my packet today my snow bib was even nicely washed and they included a cute little note. You can't go wrong with renting out gear here! read more

They are certainly more if a rental than a sales outfut, did they did a great job of responding to my requests, further educating me, and they clearly had better range than the (understandably) Pulse, Backcountry.and generic Chinese collections. Why is that a plus? Becuae they featured thoughtful designers, knew all the background behind the collections, AND were able to sell me quality used gear. Rear entry bindings are hard to come by, twice as hard for the ladies. And it was run by adults! Young adults, but definitely over 21 which amounts to a general maturity, knowledge and responsiveness I call professional. read more
