Food is down home cooking. Simple but delicious. A good deal for what you pay. And true southern sweet tea. The service is always fast and friendly. It seems as though most people will get food to go, but they do have 2 picnic tables you can eat at. The picnic area could stand to have a little updating, but it's functional. There is Jo accessibility for wheelchair users, but I am sure if you called in an order and when you arrived called and told them you are a chair user they would happily deliver your food to the car. read more

This place is pretty good, considering the circumstances. It's bigger than a little shack, to be sure, but it's off the beaten path, and you can't see the sign from the direction that I came from. It's a gravel lot with only two picnic tables outside and there is a walk-up window to order from, with a couple seats to sit at to wait. I ordered a double cheeseburger patty melt and it was great. Juicy, flavorful, little greasy, but not too much, and had a pretty good ratio of meat to everything else. I also got tater tots, which I never get at home, because my wife doesn't like them, and they were just about perfect. Crispy outside, just the right amount of soft inside, and they didn't taste like they were fried in old oil. The only real downside, and why I didn't give 5 stars? One, no kids portions. My only choice for my daughter is a 1/4lb burger. Two, I understand everything is more expensive nowadays, but it's kind of expensive all things considered. $20 for what I got seemed pretty high. I will be going back, but not super often. read more

I hated to revise my previous 5-star review because we really did love this little place...for years. Everything here is fine...until it's not. And then they will blame you. In all the years that I came here, I only had issues with my order three times. But all three times, they handled it so poorly and treated me so badly that it's unbelievable. I bought two ten-dollar banana splits for a family member after talking them up...but they forgot to add the Bananas. Not a big deal... but when I brought it up the next day, their response was "Well, you still got 2 good sundaes, so it ain't our problem". The 2nd time was when they ran my credit card for $90.00 instead of $9.00 and overdrafted my account. When I asked them to help with the $35 overdraft fee, they refused and said that it wasn't their problem. I had to go beg my bank for an annual courtesy forgiveness. They didn't even try to apologize...at any point. The last straw was when I got served a nice frosty cup of 50% coffee and 50% sweet tea... and when I asked them to simply make it up, they refused and once again said "Well, that ain't our problem". But like I said, the food is great. I was a regular for many years and only had these 3 issues, so your odds are pretty good. Good luck read more

Hard to find but good food at good prices. Everything made fresh so it takes a few minutes.

We tried this place for breakfast. It was very good, so now I want to see what they do for lunch. We both ordered the breakfast platter of 2 eggs, biscuit and gravy, and a biscuit and jelly, and a meat. I had the sausage while my dining partner had bacon. All this for under $6 each. The eggs were cooked to order perfectly. The biscuits are not from scratch, but they are fresh and baked correctly. The gravy was plain but a good amount. The bacon was very good. The sausage was a little overdone but not hard or dry. This is a take out place, but they do have covered seating on the side. We ate there since it was a beautiful day. The picnic tables could use a good scrubbing, but they didn't have old food on them, just dirty from being outside. It was reasonably quiet even though it's close to the road. It's an easy drive and has a nice setting for a relaxing meal. It's definitely worth it. read more

We were hungry after a day walking and hiking around the National Battleground. The snack shack did not disappoint. Great little place with a onsite eating place consisting of picnic benches. Foot was excellent. Burgers were hand made. Fries were crispy but not oily. Lettuce and tomatoes were fresh! Prices reasonable. Far far better than any fast food joints. Highly recommend. read more

You know a restaurant is good when workers all across town stop by to grab a morning bite. The building is small but has a southern charm. The place does accept credit which is always nice. The menu is simple and mostly the same throughout but always delicious. I ordered the french stixs, bacon sandwich and coffee. The french stixs had the right amount of sweetness with a nutty flavor. The bacon sandwich was crispy which pairs really well with the bold coffee. I would definitely come back if I were to do a road trip through Georgia just for the coffee and french stixs! read more

About a year ago I was introduced to the snack shack by my landlords. They asked me for a ride so they could pick up their food order.
