    Grandma's special corner table

Mom's day feast. Service next to none other. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun atmosphere for all ages.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Special table set for grandma's[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The best of the best. 75 years of service all in the family!!!

Excellent food and amazing services. First visit to Bea's restaurant and I see why it's been around since 1950. Tasty traditional southern comfort food hit the spot for Sunday family dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is a nod to yesterday's nostalgia. The inside is homely, welcoming and nothing pretentious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is served family style on a lazy susan in the center of the tables. Refills are by request. Sunday dinner included fried chicken (breast only), ham, pulled pork, pinto beans, cabbage, collard greens, slaw, beets, corn bread, rolls, potatoes, tea, water and dessert if the day which was strawberry or peach pie. The service was excellent. The food was good. There is ample parking out front and it's great for a family dinner. Big plus is this place is locally owned and not a big chain. Definitely worth a visit

If you are in the Chattanooga area and Judy can't decide what you want for dinner... Just book it to Bea and let them set you up! $21pp and you get a crazy selection of hot and cold dishes, fresh and pickled veggies, fried chicken, fried fish, pulled BBQ pork, corn bread, biscuits and whatever dessert is on the menu for the day. And then you get to ask for additional servings of the sides and mains you want more of! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't think the decor has been changed must since they opened 50 years ago but that's ok because it's still all clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is phenomenal and so friendly and the owners came by each table asking if all was well too. No frills, just great stick to your gut, home style Southern cooking! Seriously cannot wait to go back!

This place was a great surprise! The service was prompt, friendly, attentive, and make the experience memorable. The food was great. We had chicken, ribs, collard greens, corn, potatoes, cornbread, rolls, and likely some other things I forgot. The Apple cobbler dessert was great! This meal was a flat fee when you enter and the food just kept coming. The food is placed on a table that spins so you can bring the food right around in front of you. Look forward to visiting again.

Southern excellence, very tasty and abundant. Peach and apple cobbler with cookies completely satisfied my appetite.

I really was hoping that Bea's was going to be as good as the person who recommended it to me!! Unfortunately it was not. The food was not very good. It's the kind of place where they bring out little dishes to the table, like a buffet without getting up. The greens were super salty. The potato salad was too sweet. The coleslaw was bland. The catfish and chicken were just okay, nothing special. And the peach cobbler was disgusting. However, the pasta salad was delicious and the rolls were light and fluffy. The service was excellent, fast and friendly. The restaurant was built in the 1950's and I doubt anything has changed since. Large tables with a lazy Susan in the middle. Old pictures from the 50's on the walls. I really wish it would have been better, but I just can't recommend it.

    Good ole sweet tea

Fairly busy but seated right away, brought water instantly and quickly took our drink order. Modelo (served with lime like it should be but is not always) and TROPICALIA IPA which was delicious. Their glasses are etched nicely but they come with drink coozies. I wanted to buy and at end of lunch waitress said we could keep if we wanted. Now the food: DELICIOUS. My husband ordered ahi tuna bowl and it was fresh, great veggies and ahi was great. I had the chicken po boy with confusion potatoes. The seasoning on potatoes was so excellent we bought a bottle of the seasoning. (And one is on every table for use in case you want more). Their glasses baguette was fresh and chunky with yummiest sauce. Chicken was juicy and seasoned perfect. But the best sort was put altogether with the cucumbers, lettuce and tomato...it was a hot sandwich that was refreshing and not too filling on a blazing hot day. The service was fantastic and fun vibe. I would definitely come again and again.

Every one of the sides looks so good and fresh that I wanted to get each one of them just to try it! The fish was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender. The added little muffin I didn't expect was a nice touch and delicious. The collard greens were SO GOOD. I'd get them again. So flavorful and cooked well. The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. The ambience is super nice and fresh, and our server was so sweet and engaging. The hostess as well. Everybody there was so nice and welcoming. They were okay, but for 5 bucks...what do you expect?‍. I would say the accompanying butter was supposed to be honey butter, but it seemed like regular butter to me! The server was polite, but I was scratching my head because she started with---"Let me go see what's not available anymore." Shouldn't she have done that before speaking to us?? The atmosphere is relaxed, but there isn't much to the decor. It was just casual.... there was brown butcher paper on top of white table cloths...kind of tacky really. It was busy, however, which added to the noise. Hubby and I both ordered the 1885 burger. Now, we are talkin'! The burger was delicious! . It was juicy and tasty. Just an all around fantastic burger. This alone is what will bring me and hubby back. The loaded baked potato was standard, but good too. It sounds like this experience wasn't great, but like I said, the burger alone is enough to go back to enjoy.

It was also a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. I love that they work with local organizations for fresh vegetables and meat! Our waiter was very nice and fairly attentive. But the food... For the good - the crab cake was delicious. It was like all crab meat with no filler and was very tasty. The pimento cheese was also SO yummy. You could tell it was made fresh and had a great flavor. The pita it came with was fine, a little over-grilled. I was not crazy about the fried okra. I wish the pieces weren't just cut in half, because to me they had that slimy okra texture inside. My gf said they weren't THAT bad, but I really had to push myself to eat them. The rosemary fries have a great flavor and were crispy (I prefer thicker fries but my gf enjoyed these). I LOVE mac and cheese and was super excited to try theirs. It was very creamy and had a good flavor but there was way too much cheese for the amount of noodles. Like the ratio was pretty off. Now for THE issue. My gf ordered the Filet Mignon, medium. It came raw and without the blue cheese compound butter. By the time the waiter came to check on us, I was half done eating. He took the steak to be put back on the grill and brought it back with a bowl of crumbled blue cheese. It was still raw inside. He brought us extra fries, but by the time it came back I was done eating. She asked for it to go and it was STILL RAW. She had cut it, so it was super obvious if you looked. The manager came and talked to us and they took it off the bill, but for a $40 filet mignon it should not take 3 tries to cook it right and it still not really be right. She said there are cold spots on the grill and they're training a new line cook, but it was not a good look... I'd maybe give more of a pass if they were packed, but there was no one eating inside and maybe two other tables of folks outside.
