Pretty solid! The place is located near a nail salon so there is kind of the smell of nail chemicals which isn't the most appealing. I got the spicy chicken plate with kimchi and cabbage and the beef bulgogi plate with the same sides. I wasn't the biggest fan of the spicy chicken plate, it's fine but nothing special. The sauce is on the sweeter side and it's not really that spicy. I think next time I would opt for the spicy pork bulgogi instead if I wanted something spicy. The beef bulgogi was very good. Super smokey flavors and not overly sweet. The kimchi is also fantastic. The shredded cabbage comes with a sauce but it's very so so. It's the kind of place you just go and order. The food here is so good. The sweetest people with great customer service. I ordered the beef bulgogi (my fave) and the spicy chicken. Hands down the beef is so good. Chicken was good but the beef rules! Macaroni salad is so good as well. Not so crazy about the black beans. Shrimp tempura is so yummm. Although Its gotten so expensive. I left a 1-star review the other day because the last several times we've been in they haven't had chicken katsu. I spoke with the owner today and she explained the reason why is that she is very short staffed and doesn't want to make it unless it can be served fresh which is hard to do when she's so busy and by herself. read more

After being a loyal customer and a huge supporter of small businesses, if you have a product that is apparently your best seller and you run out of it within an hour of opening, you would think that you would make more of that product so that you don't sell out and thereby run off some super loyal customers. Food is really good quality and it's fun to get to cook your own meat, plus they have really good sides and sauces!

This was recommended by one of my husband's coworkers and we thought we'd try it out. It was delicious and did not disappoint! The Bulgogi was perfectly marinated, although it was a little too sweet for my liking but it was still good. For sides I chose the kimchi and the macaroni salad. Simple yet yummy side dishes. The kimchi hasn't had time to ferment and get sour, still tastes fresh and crisp which I didn't mind because it was still so good! The Mac salad I could probably eat all the time, it wasn't too crazy on seasonings. Literally just macaroni, Mayo, and pepper from what it tasted. My husband got the spicy pork Bulgogi and he sincerely enjoyed it! It was spicy enough for him to still enjoy because we've had experience where we would get something spicy and it was to the point of not be able enjoyable. The dumpling were okay for what they were. I have been dying to try this place but never got the chance until recently. I got the beef bulgogi with double Kim chi and a large drink...I paid about $18. The portion was huge and very filling. Flavorful and fresh. The cashier was very kind and the dining room was clean. I had seen previously that they closed at 8pm and I got there around 6:15...got my food around 6:25 and was told by the cashier that I had to leave the dining room while i was eating bc they were closing...I was kinda confused and a little put off but she was super nice about it...I suggest taking to go. read more

I've been coming to this place forever and the food is real good. In coming in all the time I know the owners with small talk. Very friendly and welcoming. But this last year the wife/owner is cold and short comes off rude. But seems like it's just me. I order my Chicken Katsu with no rice all cabbage cuz I'm watching my carbs and ask for a small side of rice . They where ok with this and welcoming. Then one day she said I can't do it . I said ok I'll pay for it and she said the cook won't understand that. Then one day I said I'll get a side of rice and she put it in a big clam shell to go. Way more than I needed. So now I'm paying more than I use to now so I make my own rice now. So today I ordered the chicken Katsu and she it will take a hr so I ordered the spicy chicken and had my friend call in a order for the same thing (Katsu) and she told her a 25 mins. When asking for sriracha in packets and i wanted 10 cuz I like my meal spicy and she said I can't give you don't have enough and rude about it . Looks like I'm buying my own sriracha sauce. So now I make my own rice and buy my own sriracha now cuz I don't want the attatude. All I've been is nice ... I don't eat there by the way I eat at the office. MY COWORKER SEE THE SAME THING. Decided to try this place out and was so not disappointed! They are so generous with the meat!!! They are short staffed so it takes a little while for the food to get prepared. The owner(?)/cashier was super nice and welcoming. I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes they have available :-) My only dislike was that the kimchi I felt like it tasted kind of stale and I only had 2 bites. We came here a few times prior so I was surprised I didn't do a review sooner. The experience we had before was amazing. Food and service were great. My family and I came here on a Friday afternoon and they didn't seem too busy, just a few tables were taken. I believe the owner looked up at us when we walked in but she didn't greet us. They had a sign near the register that they are short staffed so to be patient. I totally understand during these hard times... but she wasn't the friendliest. Lots of places are experiencing the same problem but a smile or even being nice can go a long way Onto the food, we ordered chicken katsu and chicken bulgogi. They tasted great but not a fan of the sides (mac salad and Kim chee). The price was different from what was on the menu, $9.99 each but we were charged $10.49 per plate. I didn't mention it because I know like everything else, prices are going up. A sign mentioning this would be appreciated though. Other than that, we would still return to this place because we like the food. I hope things get better for them. read more

We had to try this food after reading the great reviews. Wasn't confident on what to order so I went off the pics on the ratings. The beef bulgogi is my favorite. A tad sweetness that is perfection. I'm not big on macaroni salad but ordered simply cuz of the reviews. Yum Yum, so so good. A different taste that is quite delicious. Everything is so fresh with great service. I have to admit that I didn't expect much from this Korean joint in a beach town. It's located in a nondescript strip mall, but even you walk in the owner is friendly and helpful. Both kids ordered the dom katsu, which comes with rice and two sides (cabbage kimchi and cabbage salad). I ordered the kalbi and hubby ordered the spicy pork. We both dediced to go with two orders of cabbage kimchi. The food was all pretty good. The kalbi wasn't as flavorful or smoky as I'm used to and hubby thought to l the spicy pork was spicy enough (I preferred his over mine). Three cabbage kimchi threw me for a loop in that it tasted more like regular green cabbage and not like it was made with napa. I do recommend it if you live in town, though the sideboards near the floor could use a good scrubbing. read more

I have frequented this place a few times in the past year and this year. The place is known for really exceptional Chicken Katsu and their Bulgogi. They usually come in either Chicken or Pork and has a varied menu. Along with it are sides like Kimchi (which Koreans are appreciative of when foreigners enjoy eating them), Black Macaroni Salad, and others. While pricey in some areas, you can't go wrong with trying Korean BBQ for the first time. Some people might have had problems communicating, or misunderstanding, the Korean couple. While the husband is nice, some might find the wife standoffish. On the contrary, I do not find the wife standoffish. When people come into this restaurant, they are inviting themselves into a place where Koreans have established a business. They have a culture back home and being here, it takes time to acclimate to being here. The wife is actually nice. Be patient. Everyone has some up and down days but usually they will do the very best to make the right kind of food. They are making sure your order comes out nice and right. While understaffed, they are definitely making this little gem grow. Here's a tip. Whenever you want to thank them, don't forget to give them a little bit of home they left behind: gam-sa-ham-ni-da. It means "Thank you" politely in Korean. I say this from time to time. I am not so sure if I'm doing it correctly but I hope they understood the message every time I left. I definitely will visit this place from time to time, just like my favorite Chinese restaurant called Gin's in San Antonio. I ordered the Bulgogi so this would be my first time tasting it. I used to absolutely love this restaurant. The food has always been consistently delicious, fresh and just bursting with flavor. There was always a kind man who ran the front counter and he was so sweet, seriously had some of the best customer service around. He was the kind of person that you just really wanted to support their small business because of how kind he was. Today was a completely different experience. I came to eat here after a doctors appointment with my parents and right off the bat, ordering our food, i could tell she was going to be rude. I ordered 2 identical plates because one was for myself and the other was a to go plate for my husband, I order beef bulgogi with extra Mac salad ...then my mom ordered her bulgogi and my dad ordered his pork Katsu. A few mins later, she comes to the table with only 3 plates and I asked her about the additional plate, the one that was the same as my order and she rudely says outloud that "you only order 3!" And then proceeds to go back to her counter and grabs her receipt and shows me "see you only pay for 3 plates! Not 4!" and makes quite the scene in front of other customers. Instead of just saying okay let me get the other order rung up and get started for you, she gets defensive and very rude. So then at this point, my dad goes up and stands in line and has to order the additional plate for my husband since she obviously wasn't going to do anything out of her way. She was very rude to him and kept looking over at our table. We finally get our to go plate and leave. My dad tells me after we drove away that they messed up on his food and gave him chicken Katsu instead of pork because he is shy and didn't want to make a deal of it. They need to put her in the back to cook because she clearly doesn't have what it takes to be kind and courteous to patrons. She made what is usually an excellent experience, a really bad one. Almost 2 years later and this place still hits. Consistency is key and this restaurant never fails to leave me full and happy. I still order the same spicy chicken but I have also tried the beef bulgogi and the chicken katsu..also very good. But the spicy chicken will always be my go to for it's bomb flavor.. the perfect amount of sweet, savory, and a little spice to kick it up a notch. The chicken is always so tender and juicy. Not to mention the nice, fluffy bed of rice it lays on. For some reason this steamed rice is superior and I appreciate that they are not stingy with it. I have also come to loveee the sides as well. They are actually the perfect compliment to the Korean bbq. I suggest the macaroni and the cabbage salad. One of my top places to eat in Corpus. Love little hole in the wall restaurants like this, just wish they were open later! But for such a small operation I understand and will continue to support this locally owned business cause this place does it right. read more
