I was searching for a chef to cater a dinner party / bachelorette and came across Robyn's site…read more Once connected I could tell that she would be the perfect fit. Robyn is incredibly professional and truly makes you feel like your meal is her number one priority. She worked with me to create a menu that would work for all guests, including one who was lactose intolerant / vegetarian. Upon arrival she went right to work and although multitasking kept the kitchen calm and inviting. We enjoyed watching her make fresh pasta while creating 4 additional recipes with ease. She has a lovely disposition and a passion for food that shines through. Now let's talk about the food. First off, each dish complimented each other. The ingredients were so fresh and pure that you could truly taste them all coming together with each bite. Nothing was swimming in sauce or overly salty - truly perfect. The homemade pasta reminded me of Italy and she made sure everything she uses is seasonal. The braised short ribs melted in your mouth. Ever been to a dinner party where everyone becomes incredibly quiet because the food is that good? It happened! We finished the night off with a vegan chocolate pie that left the group asking for the recipe. While we were enjoying everything, Robyn cleaned the kitchen and left it spotless. Everyone was floored by her food and I can honestly say it was talked about the entire time and will be for years to come. I feel thankful I found such a quality chef. I am looking for reasons to book her this summer!

After attending a practice round of the U.S. Open golf championship yesterday at Shinnecock Hills…read moreGolf Club in Southampton, New York, with my daughter, we planned to pick up lobster rolls at the Shinnecock Lobster Factory, which is located on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation and was on our way home. We stopped, were greeted cheerfully, and quickly found parking before heading to the window to order. My daughter had been there before, but this was my first visit, and we were both treated very well by the staff, including the Vice President of the Shinnecock Nation, who teased me for comparing their lobster rolls with ones I had tried previously at the original Lobster Roll in Montauk, Lunch in Southampton, and Cousins' Maine Lobster trucks back in Pennsylvania. He said theirs use fresh, not frozen lobster meat and are better. We both got the four ounce "Guppy" served Hamptons style - warm lobster topped with warm butter and chives over a bed of arugula served on a toasted brioche roll that came with a generous portion of classic shoestring fries and a pickle. Our sandwiches and fries were terrific, and I even got to try a Montauk iced tea, a local favorite that has half the sugar of Gold Peak sweet tea and came highly recommended by one of the private chefs in the Hamptons that I follow on social media. Overall, we had a great experience.

The reason why I gave a 4th star?…read more The Lobster Bisque was the best Lobster Bisque I had in my life! Seriously, huge chunks of lobster meat and was that a little heat as well? I was in heaven enjoying this soup. It was nice to have indoor seating. I didn't notice any picnic tables outside? I placed the order on the digital menu board and grabbed my cold beer on the side window. I waited for inside for our food, listening for our number to be called. First impression: Shinnecock Lobster Factory Lobster Roll Bread? Stale The Lobster Roll? I can never find the perfect Lobster Roll on Long Island. I don't get it, New England is kicking our tails (See what I did there?) Lobster: It wasn't coated in butter but a mayo-y mess I ordered the biggest, baddest Lobster Roll they offer. It was meaty but with filler meat like parts of the claw. After I ate the big chucks of cold lobster coated with mayo and was left with cheaper part of the lobster, IMHO the roll wasn't worth the expensive upcharge. My wife ordered a Fried Fish platter. It came with three large pieces of fresh fish. The fish was lightly coated in batter and fried gold brown. The french fries were good as well as the fish, no complaints. The potato chips, I'm assuming they were homemade but after a few minutes became cold and oily, it didn't want me craving more. The Shinnecock Lobster Factory got the lobster bisque down, if they can work on the lobster roll this place would be 5 stars hands down.
