So delicious, My fave is a toasted everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and a tall iced coffee with whole milk. Everything is fresh + homemade. Perfect for a great breakfast and the lunch sandwiches on freshly baked bagels cannot be beat. Try the chicken salad on a sesame bagel. Nice to nosh outside under the big umbrellas. Service is quick and helpful. Owners are locals who create a fun experience. Catering and tasty bagged bagel chips available too. A little expensive for bagels/bagel sandwiches but for shelter island, nothing out of the norm. Bagels are well worth it. They have some fun favored bagels (I tried the za'atar) and some unique cream cheese flavors. It can get pretty packed but they are pretty organized and get your order prepped quickly. I know you've come for the bagels but I'm telling you, try the Reuben sandwich on lightly toasted Rye. It's an incredible sandwich !!! Truly one of the greats !!! Their bagels are also pretty amazing of course and they are stuffed with really interesting fillings and flavors. The one thing I could kvetch about is, they could do better on the amount of cream cheese they shmear on a simple bagel with cream cheese order. It's such a light shmear you'd think they are rationing cream cheese. What's that all about ? Ask for extra. Their bagel chips are pretty fantastic too. The staff are lovely. The staff are accommodating and friendly. The place has a very community local vibe to it which I love. Also, there's lots of different market baubles to look through, which again, I love. The food is good. Lots of fun bagel flavors and sandwiches. Yummy large looking muffins. My bf got the jalapeño cheddar bagel with the hummus and veggies. To bizarre owner of The Eccentric Bagel who likes to make up stories in her head and put them into Yelp. Your weird inappropriate response is just another GOOD reason to avoid this shop ! First, how would you know who left this review to be able to state you have me on "video" ?Unless Yelp gave you my private information which is ILLEGAL .And Yelp does not have my actual photo either. Second ,as stated in my initial review which was censored I did not purchase food there but my family /friends did. So I saw and tasted the food they purchased and also heard their opinion on it. They like I did not initially notice the flag until after entering.I was actually so unimpressed by bagel sandwiches on offer it was only when I left store and was waiting for their food to come out did I see flag. Third, we had zero interaction with staff except to order and to use bathroom . I SUPPORT workers so I am not about to harass folks just trying to pay their bills or harass them for the poor decisions of a miserable owner. Fourth , my review does not state bathroom is public. It states bathroom is CLEAN! While waiting for my family ,a nice lady hanging outside heard me wondering where could a bathroom be and she volunteered sometimes Bagel shop will allow you to use theirs. We asked a lady at the counter who said we could go to back of shop and use the bathroom which is located right behind the kitchen. A staff person opened the door and allowed us in. Fifth , if some other folks had such a strong negative reaction to your political statement one might think you would reconsider the wisdom of your choice. Anyways seems you are happy to serve mediocre food in a mediocre space and provide a mediocre experience . And then if someone writes you a negative review lie about everything reviewed. F- all around ! Prior review The food is basic NYC bodega /deli level . Line was LONG and not speedy at 10:30 am on a weekend. Bathroom clean. Space up front tiny. Apparently YELP doesn't consider a company creating a hostile insensitive and uncomfortable environment for many of their customers relevant to my food experience. I DO! Absolutely LOVE Eccentric Bagel! The Rosemary & Salt bagels are out of this world--perfectly chewy with just the right balance of flavor. And don't even get me started on the bagel chips... they're completely addictive. The vibe of the place is so fun and cool, with awesome decor that makes you want to hang out all day. When eccentric bagel opened I was excited but kind of sad to have lost a deli on the island... boy was I wrong! Eccentric bagel has brought it!!! Their number 5 roast beef bagel sandwich is all I've ever wanted. Perfect balance of meat to sauce, fresh vegetables and of course an amazingly fresh delicious bagel. Potato salad also a must! Excited to have a solid bagel purveyor on Shelter Island. The fixings are dense on the bagels (especially in my favorite, "Everything"...! Tip: Keep your dental floss handy!). The sides like white fish and egg salad are delicious but very pricey. The coffee offerings could be better but it may be the "off season effect". Love the 80's vibe too! read more

Amazing bagel place, the recipe they use makes all the bagels taste absolutely delicious. The staff that work there are very polite and patient. It's a small store but the design details make it so unique. On Sundays they sell the Sundried tomato and herb (?) bagels which are my absolute favorite. I can't say enough good things about The Eccentric Bagel. We had a huge party and not only were they on time with the pick up, the bagels were the best we've ever had.
