Goldberg's is the only place I frequent on the east end of Long Island. The bagels are made fresh every morning and there is a lot of variety. My personal favorite is the French toast bagel with eggs and bacon, as you get the perfect blend of sweet and salty. There's always a line, so that does show how popular and in demand they are. Goldberg's Bagels has been on my bucket list for months due to the great reviews on yelp and the neighborhood gossip. I must say, I was very impressed by their Bagel quality and so curious about what the taste and texture would be like for a Long Island bagel The exterior decor is really simple and humble but you won't miss it since there is always a line outside. The wait wasn't bad and the staff served everyone quickly. Face mask is mandatory to go in due to this corona virus scamdemic! There was a great variety of options of bagels, cream cheese spreads, smoked salmon and desserts. I had a difficult time making choices and ended up getting 8 bagels (4 kinds: Everything, Sesame, Onion, and And whole wheat) and 3 spreads (Low fat cream cheese, Scallion, and cream cheese with bacon in it ). Their bagels were amazingly delicious with chewy texture. The spreads were also great and my favorite was the Scallion and it matched with the Everything bagel greatly. Somehow I had gone my whole life without ever going to a Goldbergs. I had some time before work so I stopped in for an egg sandwich. Absolutely no complaints. Everything was great, and their bacon is super thick which I love! Bagels were very good, not the best I've ever had but tasty. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I probably will return eventually. I'm leaving this review mostly because I saw other negative reviews noting bad service, but I experienced good service here. But--it wasn't busy at all. First of all the place is packed; the logistical layout is smart in one door and straight out the second door. The staff is super friendly and their bagels are pretty decent. They do a good job covering the bagels with whatever flavor they are be it sesame or poppy or whatever. The bacon is pretty good too; better than the crap you get at most delis in the city. I've been going here for quite awhile for bagels and breakfast sandwiches. I will not be purchasing egg sandwiches anymore from here. Awhile ago there was egg shells in my egg sandwich, and I gave them another chance saying people make mistakes. Today I found plastic wrap in my egg sandwich. I guess they prepare the bacon ahead of time and wrap it up, because the plastic wrap was on the bacon. I like my bacon crispy so when its not the way I like it, I usually take off the bacon and that's when I saw the plastic wrap attached to the bacon. See attached picture. I'm done with this Goldberg's. Very slow and unorganized. We waited over 20 minutes and we're given the wrong sandwiches. Went back and they didn't have our order and had to make it again, that took another 15 minutes. Then to add insult to injury they left out the bacon on my sandwich. That's it no more Mattituck Goldberg's for me. How dare you leave out my bacon. I was so hungry I still ate most of the bacon free sandwich with tears in my eyes. Very sad. I was out east and wanted a quick bite. I saw this place and decided to stop in. On a hot, muggy day, walking into this small bagel emporium only served to make me hotter, as if that was possible. There were 3 people behind the counter doing their very best to act as if I didn't exist, even though they all made eye contact with me within 15 seconds after I stopped at the ordering spot. I finally get to order and ask for a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. I then told the order taker I also would have a bottle of Yoo-Hoo. She gave me a total of $5.40. I thought that was on the high side but said nothing, as I hadn't seen the size of the bagel I was going to eat. Well, the bagel was nothing to brag about. And it wasn't even a cinnamon raisin bagel. It was a whole wheat bagel. I was hungry so I said nothing. It certainly was on the small side but did have a decent amount of cream cheese on it. I went to the cooler to get my drink and another worker was actually filling it with Yoo-Hoo. I asked for one. He gave it to me and I could feel it wasn't very cold. I asked if he could reach in and get one from the back of the cooler since it would be colder. He looked at me with some anger and said they were all the same temperature. I said they weren't because the bottles that had already been in there would absolutely be colder than the ones he was just putting in. He gave an audible sigh and reached in. I was handed a VERY COLD bottle. Mission accomplished. So, to summarize. Decent tasting, but wrong variety of bagel and too small for the price charged. Service with a grunt when you ask them to make the slightest effort to please a customer. I won't return. read more

This space has been home to several bagel stores in the time we've lived in Mattituck. All have been OK but none really good. My first experience with the chain was in Easthampton last Thanksgiving when our host brought in bagels and smoked salmon the morning after the "feast". The bagels were not tough as is usually the case, and the freshly sliced salmon was buttery and delicious. The new store in Mattituck in just what the neighborhood needed. The bagels and flagels are texturally wonderful, and the cream cheese mixtures tasty. Bravo Goldberg's! We've got a Sunday morning treat to look forward to. Of course a shorter line would be nice as it's always out the door, but I guess that comes with serving stuff that people like!! read more

Good bagels. I love the flagels, flat bagels keeps me from.having to scoop a normal bagel out. Living in Florida we don't have flagels so of course I had to try one. I also ordered an everything bagel, it was good but I've had better. It had a ton of poppy seeds but not enough of the rest of everything and I don't think there was any salt. Since they don't put salt on the everything bagel here, I purchased a couple to take home but was disappointed to find no salt. The bagels are good but I've had better in other places in NY. 1/20 times when I get food here, it comes correct. Never order açaí bowls from here because you will never get what you asked for and there's more ice on the frozen fruit than there's even fruit... I give this place many chances because in the beginning they were amazing and they have just gotten so terrible over the years.. today I found eggshells on my sandwich for the second time and my sausage patty was burnt to crisps... just do yourself a a favor, and go to Black Sheep Bagels instead.. the hype over Goldberg's is way over done and unless you're a local, your food will definitely not come out right. Plus the prices are a little high. They really don't give a crap about how your food comes out once you place your order. It's not that they can't hear you and you need to order more clearly. I like this place. I would come back however I just paid $12.00 for ham and cheese on a roll and a drink and only got 1 slice of cheese. Finally a place to get decent bagels on the north fork. Since living here there have been about 3 bagels places in here and they all were terrible. Place is extremely small but that's not fault to them. But please please take something away from your Hampton locations and add a BAGELS ONLY line. You could wait in here for 30 mins to get two bagels and that's a huge down fall I just walk out when I see the line almost to the door. The workers work extremely slow and can never seem to understand the costumers they need you to repeat the order three times until they understand Bottom line bagels good service EXTREMELY SLOW. Number one issue is they close at 3PM! That's right, not 3AM, but 3PM. What a joke, it is a breakfast and brunch crowd place only, I guess.
