The wonderful city tour I highly recommend it! If you want to know, Victoria, it is a good chance.

website states their last day of operation is Oct 7th. However they decided to close early on Oct 4th due to bad traffic sales.

REVIEWER #2 Visiting…read moreVictoria? Want to head to Butchart Gardens or the Butterfly Garden without renting a car? If you answered yes to all of these questions then CVS tours is definitely the way to go! Super easy, convenient and no driving necessary- for you atleast. I was looking into tour buses that will take me to Butchart Gardens as I was visiting Victoria for two days. I came across CVS Tours on the website: Viator as an option. For less than $55 you get a ride to and from Butchart Gardens, as well as entry in. Can't beat that, right? The buses pick you up right in front of the Empress Hotel, which is located on Government Street, right downtown! They advise you to arrive 10 minutes before your departure time to check in and receive your tickets. I love that the bus that are double decker! It makes the ride so much more fun and interesting as you're able to see the view from up high. Once you get to your destination, the buses drop you off right in the front. You're able to venture out on your own and the buses leave from the destination upon every hour of the hour. The last bus leaves Butchart Gardens at 5 p.m. The ride to The Butchart Gardens was great! The buses are very comfortable and doesn't seem to fill up quickly. During the ride, the drivers usually provide history and helpful information about the Gardens. For the price that you pay and the comfortable seats on the bus, it definitely makes the pricing all worth it! I would for sure recommend that you book through CVS if you plan to visit Butchart Gardens!

Not only did the tour leave about 10 minutes late, they had us sit for 30 minutes with no air conditioning roasting during the middle of summer. Then when the bus finally started, we were told that it would take a few minutes for the air conditioning to turn on. It never turned on and the whole trip, we sat with no air coming from the vents. By the time we made it to the garden we were soaked with sweat and close to having heat stroke. We were so looking forward to walking around Butchart Gardens but unfortunately had to go back to the hotel due to the heat's affect of my 80 year old grandma. This company ruined our only full day in Victoria. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

We hired Garden City to provide transportation for our wedding in May 2022. Jason was difficult to…read moreget a hold of throughout the planning process - we spent months emailing asking to confirm details and asking to sign a contract (he never did). We were always a bit worried about how things would go. The week of our wedding Jason increased the prices on us and demanded 100% up front payment, even though previously we had agreed to 50% deposit, 50% on delivery of services. This caused a lot of stress and more worry. The day that all of our guests were arriving from all over the world for our destination wedding, we were dealing with Jason's rude emails and demands for more payment before he would show up. On the day of the wedding, Garden City sent only two buses instead of three as agreed. The result was that the bridal party was stranded for an hour, since we weren't picked up by our own bus as arranged but rather a bus that had to first take all the guests to the venue then turn around and come back for us. This caused our wedding to start one hour late. Given that we only had a 6 hour long event, this led to lots of last minute changes, chaos and stress for us, our family and friends who had traveled from around the world to be there. We found out later from our guests that the drivers (Jason drove himself plus one other person) made unprofessional comments and that guests felt unsafe during the journey because they packed the buses so full to make up for the shortage of driver and buses. Our guests were standing up and packed together tightly on a bumpy bus ride for the 30 minutes back from the wedding to the hotel in downtown Victoria. After the wedding we learned more details and realized the full extent of the issues caused by Garden City. We asked for our money back. Jason denied any responsibility for the issues saying the bus that never showed up to transport the bridal party was "stuck in traffic". If they had just told us they couldn't manage a third bus and driver we could have arranged to take taxis and then I could have been on time to my own wedding. Jason actually suggested calling a taxi instead of waiting for him to return and pick us up - unfortunately that suggestion was made when we were already 30 minutes late to the wedding. If you are planning an event and need reliable transportation, run the other way.

The concept is excellent, the route covers many of the city's major attractions, and the drivers we encountered were friendly. This service has tremendous potential and could easily be a five-star experience with a few important improvements. The biggest disappointment was the condition of several of the open-top bus seats. Many were worn out, and some had broken cushions that allowed the metal seat frame to press into the backs of our legs, thighs, and buttocks. After spending time riding the routes, we were both sore. In fact, my wife was so uncomfortable after the first day that she refused to ride the buses on the second day, even though we had already paid for a two-day pass. That was disappointing because we had planned to continue exploring the city together. The other issue was reliability. The advertised pickup interval of approximately every 30 minutes was often not met due to traffic. I understand that traffic in a major city is unpredictable, but what made the experience more frustrating was learning that at least two buses apparently were not transmitting their GPS location. That largely defeats the purpose of having a real-time bus tracker. When riders can't trust the app or the published schedule, they're left wondering whether to continue waiting or find another way to their destination. My biggest takeaway is this: don't over-promise and under-deliver. If buses are delayed because of traffic or GPS tracking isn't available, simply communicate that honestly. Most customers are understanding when expectations are set realistically. Accurate information builds trust far more effectively than optimistic estimates that aren't being met. I genuinely want this company to succeed because the service fills an important need for visitors. With comfortable seating, dependable GPS tracking, and more realistic communication about pickup times, this could easily become a five-star experience. I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended.

We paid $173 total ($60 per adult, $39 for our teen, and the rest for our tween), and they gave us brochures outlining the route and stops, plus one timetable as they were almost out. That's when we realized the bus frequency is every hour, and not every 15 minutes. The last bus was at 5:30 pm. Fortunately, they had a bus scheduled to run at the half hour mark during summers (10, noon and 2), so we would not need to wait for an hour every time we disembarked. The long gap between busses meant we had to restrict the number of places we hopped off - we chose to see the Songhees lookout on the other side of the water, and take a lunch stop in Oak Bay Village. Of the places we'd originally planned to see, we ended up skipping Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, and Beacon Hill Park (with its 150+ feet-tall totem pole). Many of the other places on the "itinerary" were either closed or obvious tourist traps. The busses are double-deckers and are fairly comfortable - some have open roofs, others don't. They tend to run about 5-10 minutes behind schedule. Service level was mixed. We got one nice tour guide, and a rude one who chastised us for all the things we MAY do on the journey (like throw trash everywhere instead of in the bin!), even before the bus had departed the starting point. Verdict - overpriced and not worth wasting a day of precious vacation time on. Wish we had taken a cab or water taxi instead and visited just the places we wanted to see.
