I used to like this place, new owners ruined it. Pizza sauce was bitter, dough was not hot, fresh, not crispy on outside & doughy in the middle.. cheese was low quality mozzarella... Since moving onto the Clayton area eight years ago, we have been loyal customers of Big Cheese Pizza. However and recently, the last three times we have ordered pizza, each large supreme was soggy, the crust in the middle was paper thin and quantity of toppings, especially pepperoni, has been meager. In addition, prices have increased and quality has diminished. This has been most disappointing. We are going to have to look at different options purchasing a pizza. read more

My first time buying at this restaurant. Hands down, the best pizza and cheese bread sticks I have had in years. The sauce and cheese are actually spread all the way to the edge of the crust. This was my first time trying Big Cheese, I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza and bbq spicy wings. The pizza isn't bad, it has a good taste, it's a step up from Little Caesar's (no shade intended) however I didn't care for the wings. It was way to much sauce, they were very small wings and the sauce was overly tangy. I would come back and try another pizza, not so much the wings. read more

Ordered a pizza online and it said curb side pick up. We parked infront to pick up our pizza and watched the young worker walk people their pizzas. Then when we called, she proceeded to say they do not do curbside and we have to pick it up ourselves. Read the reviews about the bad attitude at the establishment and would agree. God this pizza was good, cooked perfectly and the crust was actually full of cheese. Unlike Pizza Hut (How can their stuffed crust be so bad...) I'm surprised more people don't know about this place. When I tried the big Cheesy Bread my eyes rolled back. The Italian seasoning, fat cheese bread and crust tasted like little caesars Italian cheese bread but upgraded. I also got a fudge brownie and it was so good, it had no chocolate chips like I prefer and I honestly give this place 5 stars definitely try it out. Cheap and delicious. I just called to order a pizza at 8:28pm. The employee stated that they can only make 1 topping pizzas because they are closing soon. I asked if they closed at 8:30 or the 9:00pm that listed online. The employee confirmed that they close in 32 minutes. I politely asked again if they could make a pepperoni and cheese with extra sausage on 1/2. She said, sure. It would be ready in 5 minutes. How can they go from NO to a 1.5 topping pizza because they don't have enough time, to 5 minutes? The owner needs to be made aware of the practice that the staff has implemented. That's really bad business. So 5 minutes later I show up and pay. The lady hands me 2 pizzas. 1 with pepperoni, 1 with 1/2 sausage 1/2 cheese. We explain that the order isn't ours and we ordered X. Ordered online and got to the store to a full parking lot. Went in to pick up and had exceptional service. As I walked in a worker was wheeling out about 30 pizzas. I have to say, this is great "fast food" pizza. They have lots of toppings to choose from and options like cheese bread, Stromboli's, and cookie deserts. Hate to rate with only 2-stars since they were my go to when they first opened up until now. The pizza is NOT the same. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but every time I ordered from them the pizza doesn't taste like it used too. And that's mostly due to the cost-to-quality ratio that many pizza stores have these days, that being "moderate-to-my expectations were already low, and have managed to sink still further." I'm old enough to remember when Papa John's really did have better ingredients and better pizza. When Pizza Hut was a treat, and tasted good. And that is not the case any longer. So when my wife noticed Big Cheese Pizza sitting back off the road in the shopping center behind McDonald's the other night, I didn't have high hopes. In fact, it looked like a little Caesar's rip-off to me, with their "Fresh and Ready" pizzas. But I was wrong. Oh, so very wrong. My journey began with a trip to the website, to look at their offerings. Wings, deep dish brownie pizza. A STUFFED CRUST PIZZA. You have my attention. Now, I was curious. For $8, I wasn't expecting much, but if it was even "OK", then this meal was going to be worth it. After pulling in the wrong entrance to get to the drive through (hint: Look for the pull-in, fifty feet after the actual entrance to the strip mall), we pulled up to ordering window. Once there, we ordered something comparable to a Little Caesar's order: A deep dish pepperoni pizza (if you want to get pedantic, it's technically a Sicillian style pizza). Nothing fancy, and no way to hide if the pizza was awful. It was not ready in advance, but then again, most people seem to order the traditional, round pepperoni pizza. And they were taking those out of the oven constantly. The "Fresh and Ready" only applies to the most popular menu items, during peak periods. That's how it works. Six minutes or so later, they opened our window and dropped a massive, heavy pizza into our car. The smell was incredible. Fortunately, our drive home was short. When I opened it up at the house, and took the first bite, I knew something was different. Remember when you used to get a pizza, and the cheese stretched out in a long, almost unbreakable string of mozzarella? It was one of those. Thick, hearty pizza, with a crispy crust and gooey mozzarella. Generous, but not overly abundant pepperoni, with a bright, tomatoey sauce. Perfectly delicious. This is the kind of pizza I remember from growing up. Where two pieces would leave you feeling stuffed, because they put, you know, actual toppings on the pizza. The sauce was not as spicy as I like it, but I think you would be pleased. And oh, the second day, cold-pizza-as-breakfast test? Best I've had in years. For a place called "Big Cheese Pizza", they are not falsely advertized This place is a five star for your average, franchise pizza place, and a four star in general. 4* = I am a fan. Pizza is now an option. Trivia: Oh, and as to whether they ripped off little Caesar's on the "Fresh and Ready" deal? I did some research. Big Cheese Pizza started "Fresh and Ready" in 2001. Little Caesars didn't start "Hot and Ready" until 2004, by their own admission. Sounds like someone noticed that Big Cheese was doing something right. read more

For the price you cant go wrong. For $5 you can drive up and get a one topping pizza hot, ready, with a crispy crust. For $8 you can get a large stuffed crust, hot and crispy and a true large. They have great chicken wings with a hot sauce thays acctually hot. Chewy gooey brownie pie, and ceaser salads with or without chicken. They use real cheese not that non-melting cheese byproduct at little ceasers and Cece's. If you are on a budget and want to feed the family, give this place a whirl. You will be happy. read more

Since moving to NC I have struggled to find good pizza. I have gotten pizzas from here twice and was pleasantly satisfied both times. The cheese is so good and so stretchy and so yummy. The stuffed crust is to die for. I am very picky about sauce, often times I will just skip it, but the sauce on this pizza is so good. The sauce to pizza ratio is perfect! The crust is nice and sturdy and always cooked very well. The employees are always super nice and willing to answer questions. The prices are amazing! Heads up people - the fabulous pizza sold by the slice is Not the same as a classic pizza sold here. I raved about it to my husband, the super lunch slices. So he finally ordered a pizza this weekend, and yuck. Little Caesars. It was a terrific price though but so disappointing. Big Cheese Pizza has consistently earned 4 stars from my family within my category of "value/quality". Have been 10 times or more since they opened and have had four different pizzas as well as their cheesy breadsticks. I have not experienced one time when the crust tasted of cardboard or wasn't fresh and the cheese has always been very good. The drive-up window is ultra-convenient and they almost always have pepperoni and plain cheese pizzas ready to go if you forget to phone ahead. Look, taste is subjective. I'm just saying that I know of no restaurant outside of fast-food value menus, where two-to-four people can eat for $5.00 + tax. read more
