a pizza in a pizza box

One of the worse experiences in my life. The staff was not friendly and were all out of sorts when we came to pick up our order. Every customer was waiting an exceptionally long time. When we gave them our name to pick up, it seems like they didn't even make our order and just started. We wasted an hour of our time just to receive one of the worse pizzas I have ever experienced. They clearly rushed and gave us food which I would classify as unacceptable. Children in third world countries wouldn't even accept this garbage. Never again!

Small little joint. Pizza was delicious! The crust was a thinner style and the marinara was yummy. Really wanted to get a 2nd order of knots! So garlicky!!!

What a great little place! Stopped in today for a quick lunch which was basically a quick two slice and a half/half iced tea. Walking in I was quickly greeted, placed the order for less than $6.00!!! Place reminds me of a little hole in the wall dig one would find in South Philadelphia, Newark, NJ or pick a place in Brooklyn. The slices did not miss. Three finger fold, crisp bottom and the right amount of cheese. Ok you don't have the water down here but remember it does say New York "Style". Will be back for sure!

The pizza was good, a little softer of an under carriage than i like but still good! Quick service and well priced.

Mediocre pizza. Not pizza to 'write home about'. Did not order anything except pizza. Good customer service. Parking is easy. Quick service.

Good NY style pizza for NC, so far one of the best spots. Great staff, very friendly. I will visit the shop again when I'm in town.

Each part of the meal complemented the others perfectly, indicating that the chef or owner truly understood what flavors would work together. I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything paired, especially since I normally don't like spinach, but I enjoyed it in this dish. Upon entering the restaurant, you feel transported to Little Italy; the ambiance, the food, and the music immerse you in the experience until you finally walk out the front door. As someone who eats out every day, this meal will stay with me for the rest of my life. I believe everyone should dine here at least once before they die. As I left the restaurant, I found myself wondering why the owner chose such a rural setting for such an extraordinary establishment. I have no idea, but I definitely plan to return many times to enjoy more of its amazing creations.

We were greeted walking in by the hostess and seated within the same interaction. Our server was very good, professional, kind and friendly. He took our drink orders and got our appetizer going. We started with the Calamari Fritti, an excellent choice, flash fried with spicy peppers in a light golden batter. Simple, fresh and delicious and cooked beautifully. Served with a spicy maranara. An extensive menu of traditional and modern Italian cuisine. After giving it a good look over I opted for the Rigatoni Rustico pasta with chicken in a rich creamy red pepper and tomato sauce. It was delicious and a wonderful presentation and meal. A nice serving of rigatoni, in a velvety smooth cream sauce with tender chunks of grilled chicken. It hit the spot for me and was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. My dining companions said their dinners were equally as good. All in all an excellent choice for a nice meal. 4.5 Stars rounded up for our great server. 01249

The dining room was closed but, after speaking to the workers and manager, they let us stay and gave us great service. Most restaurants probably would not have accommodate us and we were grateful for the hospitality. Second, the pizza was fantastic. We got a large with half sausage and it looked and tasted like the pizza I grew up on in NJ. I look forward to going back and trying more offerings in the future.

The rather generic interior seemed like it had been remodeled not too long ago. The restaurant was moderately noisy, but we were able to speak without raising our voices. For some reason we both ended up ordering spaghetti with meat sauce but when our meals arrived we both received spaghetti with meat balls. Instead of just replacing our meals, the server provided two bowls of meat sauce that we spooned over the tomato sauce. It was OK at best, but honestly I've had much worse. My spaghetti was too al dente for my taste, but it wasn't underdone enough to send back. Our meal came with a delicious garlic knot which had clearly come hot out of the oven. We split a "brownie delight" for dessert, which came out as a brownie on a plate along with a bowl of vanilla ice cream. If the brownie had been warm, it would have been very nice, but as served it was OK at best. Our server kept our drinks topped off, but between serving us the wrong meal, and then not replacing it, the service also gets an OK at best too. All in all, Venero's rates an OK at best. We won't be in a rush to return any time soon.

Everything except the caesar was good. I guess we didn't expect the caesar to taste THAT charred and the lettuce to not be chopped. For main entrees, we ordered lasagna, lobster ravioli, penne alla vodka, and alfredo. The vodka pasta and lasagna were unflavored and disliked among the table. I would not recommend those dishes. Their roast beef panini is on par with Portillo's a long standing Chicago beef restaurant (IYKYK). I've NEVER had a beef sandwich that was better than Portillo's but Postino you managed to take a hometown classic and elevate it to a point beyond my expectations - if you get this sandwich I recommend getting it on the ciabatta bread versus focaccia. Let's not overlook the tomato soup - it's so rich and flavorful. For a lighter lunch my go to is the tuna panini with broccoli salad. They are known for their boards, I've not had the bruschetta yet but it looks delicious. My favorite board is the hummus. One thing I hate is when a restaurant gives you a big bowl of hummus and not enough pita. That is not the case here, you'll get pita, toasted bread, and a variety of vegetables to scoop up the velvety humus covered in cherry tomatoes, red onion and feta. For date night enjoy a Violet Femme a gin cocktail that tastes as lovely as it looks. The service here is top notch! Everyone is fantastic. I'll have to come back to this review to note the serves names we've had because they have all been exceptional. Now let's talk about the vibe! Postino's nailed the indoor/outdoor feel. Plenty of windows that are open on nice days, plants galore and the decor gives you a cool like rockstar but classy feel. 5 stars doesn't feel like enough.
