I highly recommend the jerk chicken and you MUST get Mac & cheese as one of your sides. I had a side of fries, chicken, baked beans, Mac & cheese, jerk chicken, and greens on my first visit. I would say I prefer the jerk chicken as it had a lot more flavor. The greens as also delicious but fyi have a kick to them/are spicy. The fries were also surprisingly good. The Mac & cheese was my favorite part of the meal. Everything was very very good and the service was great. I think this is the best bbq spot in the city.

I couldn't decide on the brisket or ribs so I asked the waitress. She didn't hesitate and said Oh, the ribs, they are falling off the bone. When she brings them to me they looked like they were about two days overdone. These things weren't falling off the bone. They were literally encrusted to the bone. It was like the meat and the bone had become one. I was left to basically looking for tiny sections of edible meat. I would say maybe I got to eat 15% of the actual meat. The rest was just inedible. Also got the pulled chicken. No bones involved thankfully but just as dry as the ribs and so overly salted. Just bad. The pulled pork was just ok. The coleslaw? Too much vinegar. The beans? Supposedly they had meat mixed in but I didn't see any. Just tasteless. Mac and cheese? Meh. It was edible but really disappointing. Potato salad? Never seen such yellow potato salad. Just not good. The service kind of went in the same direction of the food. Bad. We were the only people sitting at a table. She took our order and didn't check on us after that for a long time. Sat at the bar chatting with people. Meanwhile drink is sitting empty forever. Never asked if everything was good. After I was done eating what I was actually able to eat she finally came over and asked if we needed refills. But this was a good 20 minutes or more after we'd received our plates. She just wasn't into it. Just poor all the way around. Maybe I'm an outlier and every other day their food is good. But it was so bad I can't see how this was just a bad day. Carol and Mike are really nice folks and they sure know what they are doing, when it comes to smoking meat. I'm partial to the pulled pork. My son is hooked on the savory brisket. He likes the brisket nachos or the brisket sandwiches with jalapenos. OMG Carols' potato salad is awesome. Oh and don't forget the Brunswick stew, it's killer. Don't forget to save room for dessert!!!!!! Carols' banana pudding is to die for. Carol knew my son loved that brisket so much, she gave him a smoked brisket for his birthday every year. We would also get a smoked prime rib for Christmas. Never had prime rib taste that good.
