My dentures do not fit correctly at all they have 3 cracks in them as I type this actually the dentist did not even try an help me fix them simply stated well medical won't cover it for 5 years so ur stuck with what uvhave now. On my first appointment it was recommended by them that I have a root canal done on one of my teeth. (I had never experienced any pain or discomfort in this tooth in my life) With them being the experts I trusted them and had it done. This was around June 2023 About a week after the root canal I was experiencing extreme pain in that tooth. I scheduled an appointment to come back in and was told that everything looks great, no areas of concern and that I basically needed to suck it up. Fast forward to January 2024 I go back in for a routine check up/cleaning. As the doctor is examining me she says "I'm going to have to refer you to a specialist. It looks like the tooth we did a root canal on is infected or maybe we missed something during the procedure" I never had any pain or problems with my teeth before coming here. I came to this office as a new patient. The hygienist that I had was very rude. While she was doing my X-rays she was sighing and seemed to be really irritated while I had my phone with me in my lap. She then "told" me to put on the eye protection for other dental pictures. She started cleaning my teeth and practically gave me bath!! When the Dentist came in, I told her how rude the hygienist was being and ask if this is how they treat new patients?!! I got up and walked out. !! Would not recommend them at all! read more

I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience at this dental office. Initially, I visited for a routine cleaning and experienced no issues in my mouth before. However, after receiving a filling for a cavity, I have been in constant pain and unable to chew on the side she worked on, and this was three months ago I'm still in daily pain. Despite discussing this with the dentist, who assured me the pain would subside, there has been no improvement. I strongly advise against seeking dental care here. Also, the staff is very mean and unprofessional. I deeply regret coming here. It has changed my life of the worst. We have one adult version of teeth and she ruined it. The WORST dentist office EVER!! First time patient. The front desk woman (Diane) is the mose incompetent rude receptonist EVER. She did not prepare my insurance paperwork setup correctly before my appointment. Wasted 30 mins on phone with my insurance company so she could input all the insurance information. After initial teeth exam, the dentist office told me they would NOT do just a normal teeth cleaning and would only do an extensive teeth cleaning at a higher price that my insurance does NOT cover. I told them I'm just here for a regular 6 months cleaning like usual. They ACTUALLY REFUSE to do the requested basic cleaning because they want to charge a higher rate than allowed by the dental insurance, so they try to force me to accept a deep cleaning service. read more

Horrible place. When I refused a $500 gum treatment, they refused to clean my teeth even after it was my second visit to do just that! I asked the dentist why the hygienist wouldn't clean my teeth, to which she replied it was because I wouldn't get that treatment. I told her that was so unethical. Had 15 root canals and a lot of cavities filled. Within 8 weeks 4 of the root canal teeth broke and 3 fillings came out. I think b/c I was from out af state they used temporary cheap fillings and just crazy work with the root canals. I would not go here if I were you. Don't make the same mistake I did. I couldn't be happier with my visit today to Big Dental. I never have any stress about going to the dentist anymore because they make it so easy. From their friendly staff at the front desk to the Dental Assistant doing my X-Rays and Exceptional Cleaning, I know they will take excellent care of me. They also have a new tool that takes photos inside your mouth. Today I saw old silver fillings up close and even I could tell they are worn and soon will need replacing and I'm not even a Dentist! It Was pretty cool. I also learned how to correctly floss. I was not flossing every day nor applying enough pressure to my gums to clean them properly of debris. I ended up having a very small Cavity that was able to be filled today without having to come back and was so excited I did not need Novocain. I highly recommend Big Dental to everyone! read more

How to waste $425 in one hour : Not everyone has $4927 for a bridge nor should it be listed as your only option and pushed happily enough where the cheaper alternative is ignored although paid for. Zero stars would be given here if I Yelp would let me.. We got my wife's Lumineers done here and they made a few mistakes in matching the color or shade of white. After a 2 hour argument and the arrival of Huntington Beach Police, we left with a $650 check (the price of one Lumineer that we were unsatisfied with) and never went back!!! I'll be honest I called around quite a few places trying to find a new dentist for myself. Diane made the transition over to Big Dental Group a very positive experience. Not only did she do all of the leg work immediately to get me transferred over she contacted all of the necessary doctors and got referrals all within the same day of my appointment. The dentist took out my filling out put a temporary one in and that fell out the next day. so I went back and they said they can't put in another one in because it will just keep coming out... ??? so why did you take my filling out? Made me feel incredibly unwelcome. Like someone said before, they also pay you for reviews. I got a $5 Starbucks Gift Card for a great review. The elderly-woman receptionist was incredibly rude to me today when I came in for my appointment that she incorrectly scheduled for 2pm. She said to me "You have got to be kidding me. You are way too old to be one hour late. Are you late to your classes?" (I am a college student, studying veterinary medicine). For this reason, I will no longer be returning to Big Dental Group, even though I would make the 45 minute drive to this Dentist office every time I had an appointment. What the receptionist said to me is an example of poor customer service. If they didn't have this receptionist, I would give them a 4/5. I, too, had been a receptionist at one time. Here are some examples of things she could have said to me instead of being unpleasant. 1) "Hi, I'm glad you made it. You're an hour late, is everything okay?" 2) "Hello. I'm glad you made it in. You're late; is there something that I could do to assist you to ensure that you're on time?" 3) "Hello, welcome! I know that you're an hour late. Can I call you beforehand to ensure that you are aware of your appointment?" 4) "Hi, glad you could come in! Was your appointment time the time that you wanted? It says that you're one hour late, according to your scheduled appointment time. Is this correct?" She needs to work on her "skill"! I've attached a link to an example reference sheet on typical Receptionist Duties for her to check out if she sees my review. I feel that it would be very helpful for her. From the front desk to the Dr.'s, everyone in the office is incredibly nice. Had to change dentists because the 3 out of 3 fillings they performed fell out and they need a more efficient billing system. They are slow to request and receive authorizations from dental insurance. Wish their work was as nice as their manners. read more

Dr. Big Deli and staff are amazing! They are kind and honest. While Dr. was performing a filling she noticed that I did not need a crown that she could save most of my tooth. (the cost was more but she stuck to the original quoted price) Dr. always stops in to say hello and check on you even if you are just visiting the assistant that day. That's right, there are two beautiful Persian sisters that own this practice and they're both great dentists. First of all, three cheers for this all female dental office. So happy my daughter got see awesome women like these. I am a single mom and having been without health insurance for a very long time. I was terrified to find out the damage I had done to myself by going 5 years without a teeth cleaning or check up. Overwhelmed about finding a dentist for myself, I called 1800 Dentist yesterday morning and they got me an appointment for that same afternoon. I was thrilled and apprehensive. The receptionist was helpful and thorough. She seemed VERY knowledgable about maximizing my insurance coverage which trumps any and all personality problems described in other reviews (which I did not experience). The dental assistant was sweet and funny and professional. My young daughter came with me and all of the staff had kind things to say to her. I saw Dr. Faranak Bigdeli, very lovely, professional woman. After a thorough exam she gave me a lengthy list of procedures that she recommended from vital to preventative to cosmetic. The receptionist came in to the exam room and explained all the cost to me and what was covered. I selected the procedures to have that day, paid my bill, and I was on my way. Yes I did wait, yes the estimate contained procedures and techniques I don't want to pay for but the Doctor doesn't know my budget or my overall oral health goals over the rest of my life. Is she supposed to look at my shoes and judge how much money I can pay for my teeth? If one's main objective is only to prevent one's teeth from falling out of their head as inexpensively as possible this may be the wrong office for you. She was there with 3 patients at once and only one assistant until after 6 PM. My hairstylist can't even do that. I think this office belongs in Newport Center not on Beach and Ellis. Shame on the other reviewers and shame on yelp for filtering their reviews. read more

One of the more mundane pleasures of life is picking out your next meal via Yelp. You can drool at the gooey grilled cheese and eagerly bookmark away. Anticipation is part of the experience. However, finding a dentist (even on Yelp) is about as fun as going to the dentist. It's not like a menu where you can choose what you want and say "oh well there is always dessert" if it disappoints. It's your teeth and they are much more finicky and subjective than your taste buds. So I have to look at factors beyond my subjective treatments when reviewing this type of establishment. If you are anything like me (previously avoiding for every and any reason) and were finally compelled to go, Big Dental Group is the best way to do it. First, you are treated like a desired client, not just a patient. The reason this is so important is because you are still spending money (one of those avoidance reasons). You may be there "because you have to be", but Big Dental Group does not make you feel bad for your poor decisions (you have probably done enough of that in your head). All personnel (from reception to the doctor herself) have a positive "bedside" manner. Equally important is the efficiency; I'm never in the waiting room for long. And thank you for playing relaxing spa music instead of that awkward Jazz station heard in every freakin' other Dentist office I have been to. What they don't skimp time on is answering questions and ensuring you understand your plan to recovery. Also, yes I want to be babied and I very much like that throughout my procedures I am asked how I feel. If you have a hectic schedule, you are limited to the days your doctor is in; however the office is very helpful when I had to reschedule to a later time the day of my appointment. Cleanings, inlays, and root canals are by no means a day at the spa, but afterwards you feel a little sheepish for waiting so long for nothing. read more

It has been 2 or 3 years since I was here-- this review is a little overdue. I was discussing dental practices with someone and this reminded me how horrible my experience was here so I looked them up on Yelp. I had never had a cavity in my life, and was told when I came in for a cleaning I needed 4 fillings. It had been a few years since I went to the dentist so I supposed perhaps my teeth had taken a turn for the worse, and went ahead and let them fill them (they refused to clean my teeth without the fillings). Then for my "cleaning" they blew air on my teeth and called it a day (?). They also told me I had many other "small cavities" that I should get filled for "prevention". I have since found an amazing dentist so go regularly to him--- one of those "cavities" they filled had leaked so he had to redo it. That was very frustrating (and expensive since I had to be rebilled for it). In the 2 years I have consistently gotten routine cleanings, no cavities have been found by my current dentist. Just based on my experience and the other reviews, I do not think this is a coincidence. Seeing the other negative reviews, I had to share my experience as well to save unsuspecting people from being scammed. read more
