This little ice cream parlor is pretty amazing. 5 out of 5 for flavor and texture. They have the iconic flavors most people desire, but they also carry some uniquely crafted flavors as well. You can tell the owners take care of their employees because everyone was on point with a smile their face. One of the best ice cream places in the world. The flavors were cleverly named, interesting and uniformly delicious!!! The two young ladies working the counter (Jan 5) were wonderful-- big smiles, engaging and welcoming. Hand made waffle cones delicious. The shop was cute, clean & well decorated. Staff was very helpful, friendly & efficient. There were tons of different flavors to choose from even some dairy free & gluten free. They make their waffle cones in house & also sell their ice cream by the pint for 9.50. Besides ice cream they also offer a coffee drink menu, Red Bull smoothies, or you can turn your ice cream of choice into a shake. We tried the coffee toffee, Reese's peanut butter cup & barely awake. All 3 flavors were very tasty & the ice cream had a good consistency. We even got a bonus waffle cone chip with each scoop. I'm a big Wild Scoops fan, and although the flavors here aren't as creative the ice cream is of a similar high quality. You can get 3 flavors as a "solstice sampler" for $8 which isn't bad. It is high quality ice cream and it's all AMAZING! The banana cream pie is the best one. I also enjoyed the coffee toffee and colony caramel crunch. read more

The vegan Oreo is the best vegan ice cream I've ever had. It was creamy and tasted like real ice cream (no nutty or coconut aftertaste). They definitely use real Oreos and not generic cookies and cream cookies so it was phenomenal! What a fun place! It is very well decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ice cream is the best part about this lovely establishment. The flavors are so unique, and the ice cream is super creamy. We went twice before I left to go home. Highly recommend getting the "solstice sampler" it allows you to try 3 kinds of ice cream for only $8. GREAT deal. Super cute shop. I feel like I've seen this brand around somewhere like a farmers market but I've never been to the shop before. They had quite a selection of ice cream. Didn't really like that they used a lot of brand name items like Oreos and such. Turns out I picked the wrong flavor because I didn't really like mine. I got the fireweed and hibiscus honey sorbet. Most bites were just honey flavored, then some I would taste the spice of the hibiscus. I couldn't finish it. Almost though. The peanut butter and coffee toffee one I liked better. I think they would give you free samples now, maybe during Covid they weren't but they gave our friend one. I should have tasted mine before but didn't. I ended up spending 27$ on 4 icreams which I thought was insane honestly. But whatever, I think it was pretty in line with anchorages local shop. Most than $5 a scoop, some got a waffle cone which is 1.25$ more. Not sure if they charged for a piece of waffle cone in your cup? And not sure how much two scoops was verses 1. They also have punch cards and sell pints as well as espresso. read more

A very popular ice cream spot in Palmer. They have a number of unique and interesting flavors available in cup, waffle cone, or waffle bowl. I tried the Moose Nuggets, which was packed with Whoppers candies. They also have pints available to purchase to go. Prices aren't cheap but they are open later than most places in Palmer if you have a craving for ice cream. read more

I can't believe it took me so long to check this place out! I told my 12 yo grandson there today and it was SO GOOD! My grandson has the "Cabin Fever" (peppermint, chocolate & marshmallow) and I had a peanut butter, vanilla, cookie mix, both were fabulous. The place is super cute, (loved all the different lightbulbs) and the staff was wonderful too. It's a bit pricey but for the quality, I feel it's worth it, I'll definitely go back! read more

Heard lots of great stuff about this place from others we were traveling with, so we knew we had to check it out! Ice cream was delicious, all cones are homemade waffle cones, and the flavor choices are all so great it's hard to choose just one! A single scoop is HUGE! If someone says homemade ice cream, we're there. The line wrapped all the way around the room, but they were smooth and efficient and it moved quickly. And we could see why it was so packed. This place is delicious! Between our party of six, we tried almost all of the flavors, and they were all pronounced "amazing." Staff was super friendly, but no free samples. Doesn't matter. Alright, alright, alright. This place is amazing, I took the family plus an extra out for ice cream. We didn't want the normal DQ, or cold stone, so my oldest suggested this spot. Generally, I don't take advice from my pre-teen, but this paid off. We went in the evening and the wait wasn't bad at all, the kids got cones, I got a cup, and the wife got a milk shake. The following 15 minutes of peace was worth any price. The flavors looked amazing, I had peanut butter. It made me peanut butters bitch, and I didn't hear any complaints. The cost for quantity was great, and really it wasn't anymore expensive than the other places. It's a must have when you are in Palmer. read more

We visit Palmer every year to see our family who live here. Since they opened, Big Dipper has been our "must visit every night" dessert hang for the most amazing ice cream. The flavors are inspired. The customer service is gracious. And the entire experience is a throwback to the local malt shop. Highly recommend. Worth the 3,043 mile trip from Ohio :-) read more

This is seriously my favorite ice cream place, we went multiple times during our vacation in the area. Store itself is cute, has nice seating options, friendly staff but obviously the highlights are the ice cream- loved the blueberry, vanilla and my favorite fireweed honey. I haven't had a flavor of ice cream I haven't liked yet. Don't go there unless you're ready for ice cream, because you will not get a skimpy portion. They load you up. And you can get a half/half scoop which is basically two scoops of ice cream with your brain trying to convince your tummy it's only one! read more

Wow! What a great experience. Every flavor I have tried has knocked my socks off! I usually stick with one tried and true flavor at other ice cream places because it's generally a safe bet. At Big Dipper, they really have spent time perfecting their flavors to get it just right. Even their waffle cones are extra special. They have been open 2 days and I have been there both days. I have tried theor not so thin mint, their banana cream pie, their coffee toffee, and their Reese's peanut butter cup. I would eat all of them as a favorite again. You really have to try it to appreciate how good this little ice cream shop is! read more

The salmon is not dry (which is rare), and the bagel is toasted just right--not overly crunchy, just perfect. The outdoor seating is awesome, especially if you ride. This is easily one of the better spots to pull up on a motorcycle and enjoy a solid meal. Bonus points for the atmosphere. And the staff? Absolutely unreal--in the best way. Crazy friendly, welcoming, and they genuinely go out of their way to make you feel like part of their crew instead of just another customer. Great food, great vibes, great people.
