The atmosphere hits that sweet spot between cozy and lively--perfect for catching up with friends or winding down after a day exploring Alaska. Ample parking, easy access, and the kind of brewery where you feel welcome whether you're a lifelong Alaskan or just passing through. Pro tip: Arrive with an appetite and an open mind. Get a sampler flight of the beers, ask the bartender what's new or seasonal, and don't hesitate to pair it with something from the kitchen--this one's worth the stop. All told: If craft beer is part of your travel plan (or if you simply want a great local spot for food & drink), Matanuska Brewing Company in Palmer should be high on your list. Cheers to that!

So many choices!

We had a fantastic dinner at Matanuska Brewing Company Taproom. My husband ordered the spicy burger--and wow, it might just be the best in the Valley! I went with the Chicken Tacos and my brother opted for the Nachos. Everything was so good--fresh, flavorful, and totally hit the spot. For drinks, we tried the Long Track IPA and the Pineapple Ale and the Hazy IPA. All the beers were delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. We will defiantly be back!

The service was amazing from the moment we walked in. Amanda was a delight. The beers were all amazing. The food, phenomenal. The poke nachos and tacos were perfection. Highly recommend this hidden, adorable, gem!

Great brewery in Palmer. Got the burger and Reuben. Both were excellent. The cosmic phuzz hazy grapefruit ipa was really good. Service was quick and very friendly. Highly recommend. Happy hour is 2-5, got the Brussels sprouts on sale.

The cider was great. The food (only tried one) under seasoned. Loved the outdoor seating. Probably not high on my list for a revisit.

You tell me!

Great brewery in Palmer. Beer was on point but the Brussel sprouts were the bomb. Gotta kick from the decor as well!

This place was recommended by a couple of friends so I had to stop and experienced it myself. I heard such a great things that I said that this place was a must! I walked on and I was greeted by a friendly and smiley face. I sat down and the waitress was very friendly and pleasant. I ordered the tacos which were very good. After I had my meal and where I was sitting I could see the kitchen. As I was looking, the head chef ‍ wiped his hands on his jeans and proceeded to cook or finish an order. As I kept looking around, I noticed that there were a bunch of flies in the middle of the room which I found a bit gross. To be clear, there were NO flies in the kitchen but still gross or not desirable. The tacos were good but I don't see myself eating here again. I wish you guys the best!

Our visit was way too short, just a beer and a snack after an ATV tour in the Palmer area. Great ahí poke nachos, really great beers, and a fun vibe. We will definitely come back for a repeat visit. Strange lack of swag (out of stock on everything but the most extreme sizes, and nothing at all carried in the Anchorage location) for this tourist who really wanted a sticker or shirt to take home.

Stopped here after my son got married in Anchorage. Great little spot for a few beers and some good food. Impressed by the food given this a brew pub. Large portions. Solid beer selection

While this is an actual brewery as opposed to a restaurant, the Palmer location isn't as nice as the Anchorage one. They serve a decent menu for the size of the place and of course have plenty of beers to try. The taproom / restaurant isn't much, but they have a small deck area to sit outside in the summer. You make a mini-crawl with Bleeding Heart next door.

So glad we chose this place as our last meal in Alaska. Delicious food with great beer selection and vibe. Must visit when in Palmer. The brussel sprouts with poached egg was one of the favorite dishes on the menu.

Beer, service, and the cheesesteak sandwiches were great here! We really enjoyed our visit! Would love to go again for our next trip to Alaska!

Split at Chedder Burger and a Bratwurst plate with some of the best French Onion soup I've ever had! Five Stars!

The beer is great, the food a little greasy though. The atmosphere is nice, except the dinning, seating area on the inside is very tight.

There isn't a massive saturation of craft breweries in Alaska like in states like Washington,…read moreOregon, California and Colorado but there are quite a bit more breweries in the state than you may think too. Arkose Brewing was a brewery Steve got to try when we were visiting Alaska last year. We shared the Mandarina Moose Grapefruit IPA which was pretty good. Perhaps not the best grapefruit IPA I have stumbled across but not bad. The cirtus notes and malty flavor made it enjoyable enough. If I ever do get to try beer from this brewery again I think I'd like to try a stout or a porter and get a take of this brewery's version of those beer styles.

#thankfulThursday…read more When the founder told me that the whole operation was ran by two people, I was floored. When he showed me an academic journal for brewers, I was ready to totally geek out. This, of course, was after I had tried a sampler with 6 of their beers. COOLEST THING: Every Thursday they do a small batch release. When I was there it was a Coconut Cranberry Macaroon Porter. And it was DELICIOUS. You ever hear people say "this is a beer for the non-beer drinkers?" Well, this is the place to go for them. The red and the stout were smooth and sweet. The Snarly was hoppy IPA but without the heavy bitterness in the back end. Above the taps the customer will find the beers on tap broken down by style. When I was there, they had light/Belgian, malty/dark, IPAS, and Barleywines. The space is clean and crisp. Lots of art and color, too. There is merchandise on sale and beer in both bottles and growlers to go. HIGHLY recommend Arkose.

We are in town as part of an RV tour- staying in Palmer but drove to Wasilla for the chiropractor…read more We found The Last Frontier via google and it only had 3.5 stars but we were hungry. We were sat immediately at about 5 ish on a Thursday. We looked over the menu and the hostess brought water for us right away. The waitress came over for drink and food orders. We ordered the regular ribeye and sodas. My husband ordered a salad and it came out about 10 min before the meal. The steaks with vegetables and mashed potato and gravy (I had these, my husband got the salad instead) and all items were sizzling hot and very good! The steaks were both cooked correctly (medium and medium rare) with good seasoning and flavor. The vegetables (broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower) were tasty, hot, and slightly crunchy (not mushy)! The potatoes and gravy were very good-tasted homemade! I also had these homemade root beer which was very good and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was moist, tasty, had cinnamon, and a rum icing - very, very good! All the servers were very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. We would definitely eat here again! Glad we stumbled on this little gem!
