Not one bad thing to say. The place looks small, and is sort of small, but not noisy and we must have some at the right time because we sat immediately. The menu had a lot we wanted and settled for the (HUGE) Brussels appetizer and the French dip and spicy burger. Plus a raspberry beer. TBH all were outstanding and the bread they use for French dip is very tasty. Fries were on point and the selection of merchandise was extensive, if pricey. I enjoyed all aspects of this dining experience. Hope to return if we have time in this trip! read more

It's always fun scratching off a brewery out of Alaska. The beer most of time is quite solid and flavorful from most of the breweries that I have tried out. Mantanuska Brewery is the latest brewery I got to try for the first time and it was an enjoyable first time experience. Steve and I got one beer from this brewery on two separate occasions and I liked it both times. The Deep Powder Porter was the name of the beer we had. What I liked about this beer was that it was very smooth which made it an easy one to drink. There is a malty sweetness going on here with roasty, caramel and cocoa flavors. Untappd had the beet as a feature with this beer as "brilliant " and I can see that going on with this porter but I might call it "alive" as this porter wasn't a dull one at all to drink but instead it was a fun one. read more

We had a fantastic dinner at Matanuska Brewing Company Taproom. My husband ordered the spicy burger--and wow, it might just be the best in the Valley! I went with the Chicken Tacos and my brother opted for the Nachos. Everything was so good--fresh, flavorful, and totally hit the spot. For drinks, we tried the Long Track IPA and the Pineapple Ale and the Hazy IPA. All the beers were delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. We will defiantly be back! read more

This place was recommended by a couple of friends so I had to stop and experienced it myself. I heard such a great things that I said that this place was a must! I walked on and I was greeted by a friendly and smiley face. I sat down and the waitress was very friendly and pleasant. I ordered the tacos which were very good. After I had my meal and where I was sitting I could see the kitchen. As I was looking, the head chef ‍ wiped his hands on his jeans and proceeded to cook or finish an order. As I kept looking around, I noticed that there were a bunch of flies in the middle of the room which I found a bit gross. To be clear, there were NO flies in the kitchen but still gross or not desirable. The tacos were good but I don't see myself eating here again. I wish you guys the best! read more

Our visit was way too short, just a beer and a snack after an ATV tour in the Palmer area. Great ahí poke nachos, really great beers, and a fun vibe. We will definitely come back for a repeat visit. This is the best Brewery we have ever been to in the entire United States. We just finished a UTV trail ride through Hatchers Pass with Snowhook, and the Guide, Matt recommended this brewery to us. Of course we were going to take a tip from a local. One thing he mentioned was the Root Beer, you read that right non-alcoholic root beer! And, boy was it the best root beer I have ever tasted, wish it were closer to home. My favorite beer here was the Red Berry beer, It was so refreshing, and slightly sweet. After a long day, it was everything I wanted in a glass & more. Something about Alaska is just so magical. My husband enjoyed his beers also. We viewed the menu, but came here on a Tuesday, and their chalkboard specials had an entree on there which were loaded Tots. They were fantastic. Paired well with both of our beers. We sat outside, they had an overhang which shaded our table well. The weather was perfect, low 70s with a small wind chill. We were in Bliss. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! While this is an actual brewery as opposed to a restaurant, the Palmer location isn't as nice as the Anchorage one. They serve a decent menu for the size of the place and of course have plenty of beers to try. The taproom / restaurant isn't much, but they have a small deck area to sit outside in the summer. Very honestly would have given this wonderful little place a 5 star review if they had fries as a side option The food and drinks were everything you want from an Alaskan brewery. The poke nachos were an amazingly delicious creation and the fish on top was deliciously soft and fresh. I would go back for this dish alone. My partner had the chicken tacos and loved every bite of it, reporting lots of flavor. My spicy burger was incredibly juicy and the beef had a deliciously obvious high quality taste to it. The caramelized onions added a sweet element that paired really well with the spicy aioli, Pepperjack cheese, and jalapeños. The drinks! The blueberry mule was the strongest mule I have ever tasted, but it worked flavor wise. The blueberry ale is my favorite beer I've found in store here so getting to experience it on tap was *chef's kiss* perfect. The literally only complaint I have is I was told the owner doesn't like fries so the menu doesn't offer them. After a long day of hiking we wanted to end our day with a beer, burger and fries, like always. I was slightly disappointed in the potato chips as they didn't offer enough seasoning, but they did have a delightful crunch to them. Our entire table just really really wanted a big basket of fries and the lack of them took away from the typical brewery after a long day experience. read more

Overall, I was pleased with my meal here. We visited in early June. My group of 6 had a spontaneous dinner here after having a few drinks here and at Bleeding Heart Brewery. I ordered the Lazy Mountain Burger with Cajun Chips. I found the burger to be quite filling and juicy. It was cooked perfectly and the toppings complemented the burger well. The chips were definitely a highlight and a nice change from the fries. They were seasoned perfectly! Highly recommend getting the chips. The service was as expected and the staff was ready with recommendations for whatever we were looking for. We had members of our party with varying taste profiles for beer and our server gave great recommendations. They were prompt and ensured we had an enjoyable meal. As we had a larger group, we checked in with a server before taking a seat at a high top along the garage doors. It was later in the evening and the sun was beaming in on our backs which made for a quite warm dining experience. Unfortunately, the place was packed so there wasn't an option to move to another table. There wasn't much the restaurant could do about this and it's part of the experience. All in all, I would definitely come back and recommend Matanuska to anyone looking for food and a great beer selection in the Palmer area. read more

However, this place is really chaotic and confusing when you walk in, which I'm not a fan of. I ended up sitting outside because inside was packed with people all wandering around looking for a seat. The burgers were delicious quality meat just pretty greasy. Came with fries they were pretty good. Whole meal. 7/10 Tacos were ok. The presentation was nice and it was a lot of food for the price but the taco shells were really greasy and the flavor was to me personally just alright. Came with chips and salsa the were decent whole meal. 5/10 Didn't get any drinks but water so nothing to rate there. The service was good they were really nice everything went smooth.Even the kitchen hollered thanks for coming. 9/10 Clean wise everything looked good besides a lime on the floor under our table when we sat down. 9.5/10 Whole trip was a 7.5/10. This place was a great little stop on our tour of Palmer. The food was delicious and the back country blue was the best beer I've ever had and I'm not a beer kind of girl. We had two flights and the triple XXX beer to go. We found out there in a limit on how much beer you can drink in Alaska at a brewery and that was 36 ounces. We maxed out with the two flights and the beer. The jalapeño burger and the Brussel sprouts were super tasty and the service was great. The only thing I would change is the ambience. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable and it gives a colder vibe than the other brewery in town but overall it was a good experience. read more

The Backcountry Blue is exactly what you want while floating down a cool river or lounging by a pool. It may be the best blueberry beer I have ever had. ANDDDD, The Mahnitude 9.2. Such a complex and delicious beverage. It's downright scary how good it is. So five stars for the beers! The tap room was simple. The seating arrangement is small, and honestly, uncomfortable.
