Imagine a great, order-at-the-counter restraint that is locally owned and has fresh food. Now imagine that experience in a drive-through coffee stand! This place is a miracle! It's faster than your average drive-through coffee shack while offering REAL (and healthy, honestly) food! This ain't your usual scones/muffins/donuts and the occasional microwaved burrito...oh no! I got the buddha bowl, which included cilantro, jalapenos, chicken, beans, cabbage, etc. And I got it in less than 5 minutes. And it cost less than $10. I don't know how this dark magic is possible up here in Alaska, but I'm not complaining! Please open an Anchorage location! read more

How does a coffee drive thru stand out in a market that is already saturated with coffee huts? Apparently, it's as simple as adding a menu board about a car length from the coffee hut and an ordering speaker like Starbucks. Well, two ordering speakers. The second is up and to the right of the first ordering line. And, of course, having Kaladi Bros coffee. After ordering at the far right speaker, you swing around the building to the side closest to Palmer Wasilla Hwy. It is a touch less personable (when compared to other huts) but, to be fair, their barista was standing at one of the many windows, so you could see them while you are ordering. The menu is pretty similar to most coffee huts, with the incredible additions of a Buddha bowl and grilled cheese. Also, shaved ice. I opted for an iced decaf espresso. It came out mostly on point. I struggle because I dont know how to get a coffee hut to understand I want just a smidgen of vanilla syrup. Friendly, affordable, and a fancy wireless Clover payment system. Gonna try a Buddha bowl next time. read more

Also, don't sleep on their Dolewhips, which makes me think about hawaii with every bite. My only ding on Elwoods is the Rueben. I'm not usually a fan of garlic chili sauce but whatever they've done to theirs has me sold. I get my bowls with extra sauce and veggies. Yum. On vacation hanging out with my friend who lives locally. The line was really long, the drink they gave us was not the size we ordered. They charged us another 50 cents to fix it. We didn't notice until after we drove away from the window the drink was not correct and did not taste good at all. Instead of sitting in that line again for another 20 minutes, my friend walked up to the window to try to get the drink fixed. He was ignored by everyone inside and then they called the cops on him!! He's sitting in the back of the cruiser because they didn't want to deal with him. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else!!! read more
