So I had dumbells from 10- 100 lbs. and fixed barbells from 40- 110 pounds or so. First Mr. Roby tried to get me to wash them with some kind of cleaner. When this didn't work, he assured me it would dry out and stop smelling- waited a month or so, the entire basement smelled of this gas and he finally replaced the dumbbells. He hasn't replaced the fixed barbells and they are the only thing in the entire gym with over $20,000 in exercise equipment that give off this horrible odor. Mr. Roby has become completely unresponsive. I advised him 4 months ago that if these are not replaced I would post complaints on social media. Mr. Roby is charming fellow and gave me good prices- but delivered real garbage. Buyer Beware! This is just my first post of what will be many. I plan to post this on a different social media site every day until I get satisfaction.

We went to buy my son cross-country skis for Christmas, but it was a frustrating experience from…read morethe start. It took a while to get someone to help, and when a woman finally came out, there was only one other customer in the store at the time. She helped us find the right size boots, then wandered off before my son had finished trying them on. She didn't return to assist us with the skis and poles and instead started helping other customers while we waited. After nearly 20 minutes, she came out with an older gentleman, but instead of helping us right away, he went to help the people next to us, who were already being assisted, and then ignored us completely as he walked past. I was frustrated at this point, so I snapped and told him, "It's us. She wants you to help us." I apologized afterward and explained that we had been waiting for her for almost 20 minutes, watching her assist other customers before coming back to finish with us. He was very kind and helped us with the skis and poles, and I asked if there was a package deal for buying everything together. He went to check on it for us. While we were waiting, a woman's two toddlers were knocked over by some dogs that had appeared out of nowhere. The kids were scared and started crying. As the woman tried to calm them, I moved closer to the counter to put myself between the dogs and her children, and asked the woman behind the counter why the dogs weren't on leashes. That's when another woman came out of the back, grabbed the dogs (apparently hers), and then yelled at me to leave. I responded, "Your dogs knocked over children, and I'm the one who needs to leave? I came here to shop locally, and you ignored us for 20 minutes, only to tell us to leave now? This is the worst service I've ever had." Needless to say, I took my business to REI instead.

The owner was always good to me, even threw in a few card for free out of nowhere, which was exceptionally cool because they were 1968 Atlantic Oil Pepitone and Tresh I believe. I got great prices on everything I purchased. For everyone complaining that the owner won't match eBay prices .... This isn't home Depot! Do you message every seller on eBay that doesn't have a card for sale at what you consider a fair comp and complain to them? First of all a brick and mortar card shop has wayyyy more overhead than your average eBay seller. That being said, the atmosphere on eBay, especially with modern stuff, is to sell it as fast as possible, which usually means a lower price. Card shops aren't always in a rush to dump their stuff at a lower price. These guys have been around for decades and know the importance of being patient to maximize the return on their investments. Comps especially on newer cards literally change every week, especially if it's during the season, so of I owned a shop I wouldn't be basing my asking prices strictly from eBay comps. I've got no loyalty to the owner and I'm sure he doesn't even remember me because it's been so long, but leaving a less than favorable review over not matching an eBay price is ridiculous. That actually impacts his business negatively, and I can assure everyone that the dozen times I've made the trip to sports heroes,I was treated with great. The owner wasn't pushy, him and his son were sorting a box of vintage behind the counter or just doing their own thing. I spent time browsing through the off grade boxes they had at the center of the store ,( not certain if they're still there) they weren't looking over my shoulders.
