It was an excellent decision. Rates are reasonable. They fit you with a flotation vest, changing rooms are available and they have small lockers. You do not want to have your smartphone on you in the event you fall in the water on the lake. It is better to lock it up, IMO. The training overview was pretty detailed and there is a lot to remember and coordinate all at once. I liken it to riding a bike or driving a car. Once you learn it, you'll always have it and it becomes normal/natural, until then, you have to remember to switch hands, stay balanced, etc. I did go out too far from where they told me to stay, but that was unplanned. A little wind and then a boat sent me even further out which resulted in my instructor dude coming out on board to see if I was okay and if I could get back in on my own. Embarrassing, but also super cool because he gave me some on water tips that I somehow already had forgotten. Also, the further out you go, the more the wind affects you and there are more boats, so you can expend more energy on balancing rather than paddling enjoyably along. Once my guy knew I was okay and headed more in the right direction he went back and I went on to a very enjoyable experience. Prices are good. Staff is helpful. Get out early on summer weekends, too many boats on the lake will not make for a good SUP experience.

They have a huge selection of standup paddle boards, kayaks and accessories. I am actually wearing one of their shirts right now. Cool thing is, I just found out they sell ans rent snow shoes also. Being right on the lake, a hike on the lake path is something to behold anytime of year. A lot of my Rockford, IL friends kayak and have either friended them on facebook, visited the website or store itself. If you have any questions while you are there, which I always have plenty which I think some are kind of dumb, they are right there to answer them. I plan to take my family for lessons this Spring.

It is a ministry type place which I wasn't expecting but that made it a bit more safe. Alot of rules. How it works, you head to registration; it's about $35 for the gun and Helmet rental with 200 paintballs. To get more balls is $12. Then there's an orientation where they tell you the rules. Then it's time to play. There's about 6 games or so. They take a break and offer up some food for lunch. Each option is about $5 or less. Options such as slices of pizza, BBQ sandwiches, and hot dogs all served with chips. Snacks such as bags of chips or candy. $1 drinks as well. Then I got a message on Facebook that a friend of mine passed away from a stroke. This made me want to take it up a notch. Knowing I didn't like the gym and wanted to do something different I read about Krav Maga. I thought to myself...what the heck, let's send an email and see if they'd take on out of shape fat guys into their fold. Lejla, the owner called me and we had a great conversation. A day or two later I went in to have my trial class to see if I liked it. I loved it. And I mean LOVED IT! While I knew I couldn't do most of it, I was ok with it. Why??? Because of Lejla and John and how encouraging they are and how motivating they are. Lejla and John are amazing people to be around and their energy is contagious. The classes and people that attend are great. I'd consider them all closer then most family members. When you go, don't be intimidated because you can't do stuff. Try, try, try! You're there to learn real world self defense with the bonus of getting into shape. No one there cares what you look like, the shape you're in or if you have any previous experience. Every class you either learn something new or practice what you've learned. No one puts anyone else down or judges. I honestly can't tell you how proud I am of this crew and myself for taking on this adventure. You will not be disappointed!

Although I had no idea where to even start when it came to sports like surfing, water skiing, or wake boarding, I was recommended to these guys by a family friend. After my first session, I was hooked not only on the sport and what I was learning, but also the experience I was given by Xander and Mason. I went back for lessons as much as I could throughout the entire summer because of how much I was learning and how much fun I was having. they have the best equipment, great prices, they know how to teach, and most importantly, they are a great time.
