Parked behind the building to quickly pick up some food and the lot was charging $20. I didn't pay since I was only there to pick up food (25 minutes), but I still got hit with a scammy $95 ticket from the parking company I know it's not the restaurant's fault, but this whole situation made the experience way worse. i was coming from djing a show & one of my homies sent me a text about hitting up big guy's before the event was done. i was so hungry that when i first saw the name of the spot, i thought they specialized in fried rice so i was down. when we got there, i saw it was mediterranean food & had rice bowls, even better! after studying the menu for some time, i went with the ny style chicken platter. plenty of rice, plenty of lettuce (which was leafy... major bonus), more than enough chicken, all around goodness. the chicken is marinated overnight along with being seasoned with their signature spices. the white & red sauces were really really good, just the right amount. their signature seasoned rice reminded me of pilaf, which is my favorite. we got there just in time because people started falling in (this was the saturday of ou/tx weekend btw) a little after midnight. the wait on the food didn't take long, very efficient the time i was there because the wait wasn't long for anyone who decided to place an order. i'd come back again whenever i'm in the deep ellum area, i had my eyes on the aloo, beef/lamb gyro (platter) & falafels. the person who took my order was really nice. read more

Looks a lot better than it taste . The chicken meat was better and juicer than the lamb. The lamb pieces in my bowl were small and on the burnt side, kind of like left over scraps of meat. The platter tasted bland so we added a lot more sauce. Also, the bowls are small. I'd rate 6.5/10 for taste and 5/10 for quantity. Bf ordered via Uber Eats and dont think we will order again. The portions are very small for the price we paid. We ordered the Combo Platter and Lamb/Beef Platter. The platters were $14.50 each and does not come with any pita bread. The one star is solely for the beef/lamb Beef/Lamb Platter - The meats were okay, they were flavorful but at the same time pretty salty. the rice was disappointing, had no flavor. I requested the sauces to be on the side and never received it (but hindsight, good that i didnt get the sauce) Combo Platter - bf ordered this with the white sauce on top. The chicken was horrible, super dry no flavor. White sauce? tasted more like ranch. scooped out whatever sauce we had to avoid eating it. Beef/Lamb and rice were the same as the previous item. I want to say that I ordered online and this has to be one of the best lamb and beef Mediterranean bowls I have ever had. The meat was so tender. The fries were perfectly crisp and the flavors were present. They did forget my fork though, but I am a very innovative lady, and found a gas station on the way and it was delicious. Solid spot for late night food, although it can definitely get hectic especially on the weekends! Went with the Big Guys Mixed bowl, and after a night a drinking, hits the spot. Large portions, lots of protein. Solid gyro and the marinated was good although some pieces are a bit dry. The sauces are great, but if you are expecting the crazy level of spiciness from the red sauce like in NY, gonna be disappointed. Much more mild here and creamier, which works really well with the seasoned rice. Had a bite of my friend's Aloo, which is this fried seasoned mashed potato and wow it is good. In fact I liked it so much, I went back and got my own. I didn't finish the original bowl but that aloo was worth it. I was really disappointed. I was craving lamb over rice and this was the closest thing I could find in downtown. The restaurant is fairly small but I can see it getting packed late at night since there's a lot of bars around. My bf and I ordered the beef and lamb rice platter and a side of the waffle fries. The lamb/beef wasn't seasoned well, it tasted old and was dry. The lettuce and tomatoes didn't taste fresh. The rice was also dry. The red sauce wasn't spicy at all (but it's normally super duper spicy at other places). The only thing I truly enjoyed were the waffle fries. They were crispy and was seasoned well. Falafel Salad I have been anxious to try this place and finally, had a chance to do so. The establishment was very clean, and the cashier was very knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was easy to understand and well made, I wish they had to-go menus, as well. You can order online, but there is a fee attached, I'll pass. My salad: The falafel and pita were dang delicious, however, the lettuce was saturated in water, which made my falafel a bit soggy. I had enough leftover for a snack the next day. It was my first time eating there, so I didn't know that it automatically came with the red sauce which was kind of spicy (I'm a lightweight). This is the best take out Mediterranean place in Dallas. The food is always consistently fresh and seasoned well even if you order really late at night. We always order the mixed rice platter with the chicken and gyro meat (lamb) which is enough food to satisfy a football player appetite like mine or can be shared between two light eaters. The hummus and pita bread are good side options. It's guaranteed that my family and friends will order delivery here at least once a week. Too. Freaking. Delicious. If you've ever had legit NY style chicken and rice, then you would LOVE Big Guys. The flavor profile is way more complex and intended than your typical Halal Guys. I've had tons of different chicken and rice type places but this place tops all. Their chicken was seasoned perfectly. I tend to find myself having bland chicken and needing sauce to make it have good taste. I also tried their aloo and falafel and could not stop eating them. The seasoning is way too spot on to miss out on. So flavorful. Their sauces are awesome too. You have your typical white sauce that you find at chicken and rice carts but it definitely tasted more fresh than just your packaged sauce. Their hot sauce DOES have heat so be careful if you're not used to heat. The best part of the meal? Their Nutella paratha. Gah, so irresistible.
