I have been driving past this place for years and even for a period of years worked within walking distance of it, but somehow have never eaten here. Man was I missing out! Walking in is like arriving in your Time Machine and traveling to the 70's. I am convinced that is when the place had its last update..., but I wasn't here for ambiance, I was here for food! Our server was great. He was not formal, but was polite. He was right there every time we needed him. I visited her today and was excited as it had 4 stars. I was starving and was in the neighborhood . The service was good. You just walk in and place your order. I ordered the Chicken gyro, sub honey mustard (why would honey mustard be the standard) and taiko instead. I also just ordered fries as my side. I waited about 10 minutes, probably less, and my food was handed to me wrapped in a plastic bag. Yep, I left w/o checking. From the photos and other reviews and such a simple order, I fit hired it was alright. The fries were bland. They had some type of Greek seasoning, but they needed some salt. I could also tell they were probably cooked prior to making the gyro. Never good. But I ate them all. The chicken gyro , I'd give a 2 of 5. Idk what type of chicken that was or how they cook it but it seemed processed and it had no flavor. The texture was almost questionable as well. The taxing sauce was barely there and just slopped on one side of the sandwich. All in all I was extremely disappointed. I regret spending $11 dollars on this. Some places just have no pride in their food. Always disappointing for a foodie like me. read more

First time here, came in for a late lunch. Place was empty, but slowly people came in and most were take out orders. Our food came last even though we were there before the other two tables. The gyro was delicious and the Greek potatoes were a first for us...healthier option than fries. The only thing missing was some hot sauce/chili. I will definitely come back, I am surprised I hadn't found or tried this place before! But I guess the name doesn't help it's identity as a Greek spot. read more

Such a small mom and pop restaurant with a big heart. Start with a FLAMING Cheese Saganaki! Literally delicious! The pita is fresh and the cheese is creamy! (See pic) The best part of this place is they treat everyone so well! The customer service is fantastic. It helps that the food is delish, too. A special (dinner meal) comes with FOUR sides. F.O.U.R. not 2. So you will be full. Trust the process. Not sure if I got all the pics, but we had shrimp skewers, baked tilapia, and salmon (our party of 3. My only recommendation is for the green beans to be fresh... with the seasoning and way it is prepared, canned or frozen beans wither easily. We were out running errands in NE Dallas and had skipped lunch. Now vaccinated and with home an hour away, we decided to hit the dine in button! We had passed a little Greek restaurant called Flaming Cheese Saganaki earlier and that name was hard to forget. Located in a strip mall at Forest and Greenville, it's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking. Clearly advertising BYOB as you enter, I saw nothing about masks and no available hand sanitizer; but the waiter and the chef could be seen wearing masks. They had a very pleasant patio; but it's next to Forest Lane and at this time of the day it was pretty noisy. Not a soul was in the dining room, though, so we felt comfortable kicking back there. A couple of masked customers came in and out for takeout while we ate, but we had the place to ourselves. The food was good. The spinach pie appetizer was very different from most I've had. The phyllo had a nuttier taste and the filling was not especially creamy. I liked it. It seemed rustic somehow. Delicious. I spotted a sandwich on the menu named Kratos. A combination of lamb gyro and chicken chunks, it veered away from tzatziki and was to be dressed with a spicy feta sauce - orange in color. If you look at my photo, you'll clearly see the thoroughly tasty gyro slices; but no chicken. I only realized this after we both had consumed a fair amount of our well stuffed sandwiches. The toasted pita was perfect with lettuce, tomatoes and onions with the lightly charred gyro meat and that terrific dressing. There could have been chips of chicken in it. Maybe. But there were no chunks. I chose not to hash it out with the waiter. We were eating some really good food. The sandwiches came with a side. My husband had a thoughtfully presented Greek side salad - large for a side and lots of flavor. I had the Greek potatoes and Wow! were they good. Nice crust and perfectly cooked. We ate it all. Every bite. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Sweet young guy. We didn't have dessert and didn't want it to sit in the vehicle, so we passed on takeout; but we saw the very interesting Baklava Cheesecake in the Dessert case. Another day perhaps! The restaurant was spotless - including the restrooms. If in the area, we would definitely return. read more

Always hot, fresh and very tasty. 1st time we visited, the service experience was not very pleasant. The young man that greeted us was not very vocal. We could barely hear or understand him. I was looking at the menu and we proceeded to order. As we were ordering, I was folding the menu back at the crease. The young man proceeded to take the menu from my hands and state the owner has spent a lot of money to have the menus reprinted and to not fold them back. Wanted to come here as this place is close to my work. I did not order much however as all I wanted was the hummus and the tzatziki sauce. They were 8 dollars a piece and you do get pita bread for it. Was it expensive for what you get. the answer is yes as we finished it within 2 days. The hummus and tzatziki sauce was great. Flaming Saganaki is on my family's regular take-out rotation. This is non-fancy Greek food- just really yummy! Don't expect the most beautiful presentation or a wonderful dine-in ambiance. Expect tasty food at a reasonable price. My favorites are the Classic Gyro, Gyro meat salad, both types of dolmas, and avgolemono soup. Desserts are good, as well. The kids' plates are a good deal and I occasionally order them for myself if I'm a little less hungry or want to leave room for dessert. We occasionally dine-in the restaurant and it leaves a little to be desired. If Flaming Saganaki's chef operated somewhere in Lakewood under a different name with a better ambiance, I think they'd probably be extremely popular. Big fan of Greek and Mediterranean food, so i decided to give a try. I ordered the Lamb Kabob, with rice, potatoes, and veggies. WOW WOW WOW DELICIOUS! Worth the $13.50 for sure! I didn't skip a beat considering eating here because I was determined to eat lamb meat. The lamb meat is so good, combined with the rice and potatoes it felt therapeutic and I would recommend. Looking to try something new and different as Dallas has so many offerings. We decide to drive up from lowest Greenville up towards 635 and found this little jewel on the corner of ForestGreenville. We arrived at 4:30 pm on Saturday and it was not crowded. The restaurant was somewhat dated however felt very warm and inviting. Our young server was very pleasant and prompt. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer ant was served hot and tasted great. Dinner was chicken kabobs with rise and potatoes. The food was delicious and the spices used were so delicious.
