I highly recommend this moving company. From Kurt (the owner) to the guys on the truck, the service and professionalism was top notch. I used their service yesterday (03/29/20), they gave me a 12-3pm window, the guys called me prior to coming out, gave me a heads up which I needed because I was not at the pick up location. They got to my apartment at 12:10. Marcus, Vann, and Kurtis show up, and my first thought was, "wait did I ask for a 3 man crew or 2?" because the 3 man crew was extra per hour. They told me, no you're down for a 2 man crew but you're getting all 3 of us today! Wow, how great is that, no extra charge! So, right away I informed the guys that I added an extra stop (to a storage unit), than originally planned. No issue. I let them know which items were for storage and which items were going to the new house. After we got that handled, THEN they started the clock when the first box got touched. So, you don't have to worry about this company trying to take advantage of that hourly rate. They start when the first box is touched and stop the clock when last box is dropped off. These guys did an amazing job and were very careful with the boxes that i had marked fragile, they communicated well with each other and that lead to getting the job done quicker (than I expected). At the storage unit, they put it together like a puzzle getting all my boxes and china cabinets, and etc in place. Once at the new house, they were on top of it, they got everything moved in and set up really quickly. Once the job was done, Marcus gave me the breakdown of the bill, no surprise fees, it was exactly what Kurt told me it would be. Thanks again to Big Heart Moving! read more

What impressed me the most was in the initial phone call how Big Heart suggested they might not be the right choice for my move. They thought the job might be too large. That spoke volumes. He was willing to walk away rather than not deliver excellence. They delivered excellence. The were communicative, they were on time and the were very efficient. The best part was the price. The price was far below what I had anticipated. They came highly recommended from friends and I highly recommend them in return!! read more

Kurt and his team (Van & Marcus) did a great job moving my family into our new home. They quoted me for an estimate of 6-8 hours for the move and hustled all day long coming in under my budget for only 5.2 hours of labor. Their cheery personalities were refreshing and I respected their work ethic as they hustled every minute of the move while still stopping to verify exactly where I wanted things or to ask clarifying questions. No damage to anything I owned and they did well to use extra straps and moving blankets to protect my furniture. Highly recommend these guys read more

These guys were awesome! They were incredibly professional and their customer service was amazing. They were the most affordable company we took quotes from and didn't start the clock until they touched the first box. Jordan, Charles and Dylan worked hard and were moving the entire time. Even when the elevator broke in our four story apartment building, they worked around it and did their best to make up the time. They took great care of our belongings and everything thing survived the move in excellent condition. We would definitely use Big Heart again. read more

Sharun, Torrie, and TJ were awesome, it was 100 outside and they still carefully moved everything from our old apartment to our new apartment. It's the second time I've used them, my brother has, and his friend has multiple times, and we strongly recommend them to anyone we hear is moving, they also be hired by my dad in a few months. Another great experience with Big Heart Moving! Kurt is very responsive and worked with my last minute changes. I had to leave a review of this moving company as they were amazing! My husband and I recently moved to Pearland from AZ. We had a pod and a storage unit of stuff....ugh. The very thought of having to unload both and move it upstairs was stressing us both out. We called them out and I'm so glad we did. 3 young men not only unloaded the storage unit into their truck, they drove to the new house, promptly took a look around the house for furniture placement and immediately started unpacking/moving us in. They were completely finished in 1.5 hours! Again, I am so happy we called them and I would recommend Big Heart Moving to anyone looking for movers. They were punctual, friendly and very careful with our belongings. Great group of guys and even gave us some ideas of places to check out as we are new to area:-). My name is Kurt Larsen, and I am the Owner/ Managing Partner of Big Heart Moving LLC. The beautiful woman in the picture is my wife Emily, founder of From the Heart Charity Foundation. We are a locally owned residential and commercial moving company based out of South Houston, Texas. I was raised in Texas for a majority of my childhood but moved to Lexington, KY where I was part of the start-up of Wildcat Moving, LLC, the #1 ranked moving company in Kentucky by Angie's list since 2012. Abner was very responsive and straight forward but did not contact me again after initial quote until I decided to go with him. He garunteed pick up date and arrival date (and time and was 10 minutes early each time!) which was huge for us as our move had to be very scheduled and other companies quoted us a 2 week interval (or more!) of when our items would be delivered. His crew in Houston arrived and packed our entire apartment, included disassembling basic items. They were extremely professional and efficient. Every item even valuable and breakable items arrived in perfect condition. He met us in San Fransisco 5 days later and him and two others unloaded all our boxes and assembled any dissassembled items. Again very professional and efficient. Iron back movers turned what could have been a very stressful move into 0 stress. Abner was extremely hardworking, professional, and easy to work with as was every member of his team. We hope we can use him for any future moves even though we are no longer in Houston!

We did a video call so they can give an estimate, we never received an estimate. The movers came to pack move and unpack. They didn't know they were supposed to be packing/unpacking. They left my front door wide open and never turned the gate back on so if I hadn't gone back for cleaning supplies my door would've been left open over night. When I told the only guy who spoke English he said "I wasn't the last one out" no apologies just a lazy answer. They never unpacked properly. I started unpacking the kitchen, so they had an idea of where things went. They didn't try, they just unpacked random stuff and threw it in places. Appliances were disassembled which could have easily been put together. My cake stand was in two thrown on the counter top with a box over the glass in an unsafe manner. They said they were scheduled to come back tomorrow and when I called to complain about how the place left they said the job was done and I should've said something before they left. I told them they should leave instead of waiting for me to return after picking up my daughter they told me had to pay. Which understood I'll pay for the day, but the packing job was not done. These are scammers. It's been a long time since I dealt with a business like this but this one beware.

During my recent move, I decided to give them my repeat business. Huge mistake. You get what you pay for. They quoted $110 per hour plus $70 admin fee, minimum 2 hours. That was fine. However, when they showed up, they advised that they charge $15 per roll for shrink wrap. I was in agreement with using the shrink wrap and blankets but they advised they were not sure how many rolls they would use. Then it was changed to 3 rolls. I've used movers in the past and they have always included shrink wrap and blankets in their pricing. However, I've also seen how the shrink wrap is used and 3 rolls is grossly overestimated. I've included a picture of the shrink wrap roll for reference. After signing for them to start the job, a never ending agreement about the number of shrink wrap rolls they would use, and the clock already ticking, I agreed for them to move forward with the additional $45 scam. Instead, they went outside, spoke amongst themselves and someone on the phone and advised that they would not be completing the job and left. I called the primary phone number and spoke with the owner who advised me that I should have accepted the scam pricing from the beginning and then disconnected the phone call. Cancelling a job because you don't want to be called out for overcharging for shrink wrap that should be included in your job is ridiculous. Moving is stressful. To walk out on someone during a time like that is not someone that deserves your business. The bright side is that I had another moving company's card on my door. I contacted them and they were available in the late afternoon. They ended up coming a few hours earlier. The price included the shrink wrap and blankets. They completed a HUGE job in 2.5 hours. I paid more per hour and tipped the 3 movers well. The fact that Astros Moving Company attempted to ruin my day over $45 is ridiculous. They would have made much more than that in tips and repeat business. Edit as of 05/09/25. In response to the owner. I NEVER advised them that I did not have the money to pay the ridiculous $45 for three rolls that were clearly not going to be used. After agreeing to disagree, I actually advised them to move forward. They chose to walk away instead. Not only did I pay more than the $45 with the other moving company, I tipped them generously. In business, some things are about the principle, not the money.

Everytime they changed owners, the transition has been seamless for the tenants. I will say the price has consistently went up throughout the years, hence minus one star. That was one of my motivations to get do away with the unit and either sell or get rid of what I have in the unit. The cost of what u have paid over the years definitely is way over the worth of the property inside. The property is very clean and well secured. I wanted climate controlled and I have never been inside where I have felt it wasn't controlled. They have moving equipment on hand to help you move your items as well. Customer service, especially with Extra Space has been outstanding. I was able to put my notice in to leave online. I wasn't sure if gate codes have changed since the new ownership took over so I called and spoke to Natalie. She was very helpful and told me I have till the end of the month to move out even though my move out date was about a week earlier. That little bit of information put less stress on me. She text me with all the codes and also notified me that my unit was clean and good to go after. If I am ever in need of storage in the future, I will definitely reach back out to Extra Space Storage.

All of my recyclables this time were easy lifts, so they have a drive-thru where you stop, and somebody comes and gets everything out of the car for you. Like a grocery pickup. They just do everything while you wait in your car. They also have the ability to take larger equipment. Some of those things you have to set an appointment for and certain items have to be paid for for them to take it. It's usually a very small fee just for disposal costs and things like that. Entirely worth it for whatever it is you're trying to do. Nothing here is expensive. Highly recommend if you're looking to offload some extra stuff that you're not using anymore without just chucking it in a trash can. They also have paper recycling and shredding services available. Check out their website and see if they'll take what you have.

The bay holds three cars and they have designated spots for each vehicle. You must stay in your car and let the attendants take whatever you're recycling out of your vehicle. One good thing about Stella Roberts is that they take all sorts of items/materials. On my last visit, I dropped off old electronics and cell phones. They also take the typical materials like plastic, aluminum, and paper. They accept large appliances and hazardous materials, but I believe you have to make an appointment first. You can drop off items during non-business hours. They have large bins positioned just outside of the drive thru gate for old clothes, books, and small appliances. I like to drop off old clothes and shoes here for textile recycling. I'm grateful for the bins since it's difficult for me to visit during business hours.

Manuel, Tyler, and Dylan helped me move Aug 13, 2020. I could not have asked for a better group of people to help me move. Their managers should be proud to have hired them. Marcus scheduled my move over the phone and explained all details of the move - when the clock begins and ends, breakdown of fees, truck size, number of movers, etc. His thoroughness and professionalism made me feel Big Heart Movers could be trusted to arrive as scheduled without issue. I have nothing but positive things to say about Manuel, Tyler, and Dylan who did my move. They were genuinely courteous, professional, and kind guys. Their work ethic was equally excellent. They called to notify me they were on their way. Arrived promptly. They took the time to listen and follow my directions and began working until the truck was loaded. I had boxes and furniture that needed to be moved from the first and second floor of the house. Manuel wrapped the delicate wood furniture I asked to avoid scratching if possible. They taped up a few boxes I had not so nothing would fall out. They moved me into a THIRD floor apartment - no elevator, only stairwells. They even placed my furniture, which, being a petite woman, I wouldn't have been able to do on my own. They worked hard and in good humor in the harsh Texas heat of August. Great moving company that lives up to its name! I'm a senior citizen who decided it was time to downsize from a house to an apartment. I used yelp to find three moving companies with great reviews. I called each company and felt most comfortable with this one. On the day of my move, John called to let me know that he and Kurtis were on their way. They did a wonderful job from start to finish. I especially appreciate how patient they were with me when it came time to move my multiple-piece bedroom set into an apartment master bedroom that is much smaller than the master bedroom in my house. I'm picky about the placement of my furniture and they took as much time as needed to get the pieces arranged to my liking. What a great team! This was my first time using a moving company. I called a bunch of different places and they're rates were ridiculously high. This company is THE BEST! After I requested a quote, Kurt called me within 30 minutes. He was very professional, courteous, and answered all the questions. As far as the movers, they showed up right on time. Asked me what I wanted them take. Wrapped everything and moved it out with no problems. Josh and Vann were super nice and explained everything so I knew what they were doing. Big Heart Moving recently helped me move furniture from one house to another. The two gentlemen showed up right on time and went right to work. They were amazing and so very polite! They worked non-stop with just a few short water breaks. I'm still amazed at the price difference between Big Heart Moving and the other companies I received quotes from. They weren't even in the same ballpark! And I assure you just because they are so much less expensive, there was no sacrifice in service or care! Big Heart Moving company is one of the best moving companies I've used. I've moved three times in the last three years so I have some experience with movers lol! These young men, Jordan and Dylan, worked very hard in the southern Texas heat and humidity and didn't quit until the job was done. I highly recommend this moving company. My scheduled move was April 6th, they confirmed my move prior to the date. Kurt, the owner, was very nice and professional when I set-up my move. He answered all my questions. His prices are very reasonable compared to other moving companies. His crew (Marcus, Curtis and Ivan) were very respectful, professional and fast. I have used many movers in the past but I must say none holds a candle to these guys. They are extremely professional, Very nice and cordial, and from the moment they stepped out of the truck they were moving at warp speed. To say the least I was absolutely amazed. Very prompt & personal with contacting me & discussing my move which including moving from a 3 story walk up to another 3 story walk up. The crew that came were great & very professional. I go out of my way to get these guys up from Pearland to Houston and to Sugar Land for two moves in a year. Not only were they competitive even with the travel fee but they are SO careful and so nice. They come early, they take care of furniture as if it was their own, and they are respectful, patient and kind. Slow start due to not having full staff, but they made up for it working late in the evening to move us across Pearland from our former home on the west side to the new one on the east side. They were able to move a safe, less than 500 pounds. They were friendly careful with our furniture, nothing broken. They were flexible included swinging by another house along the way to pick up a couple furniture items. read more

They're really kind, friendly, and hard working people. They helped us move for 4 hours without taking any breaks and were able to haul the heavy things pretty quickly. Jordan was a good and safe driver. Charles and Xavier were cool people. They're all really social and outgoing people who get the job done.
