We had a full room and half of a double garage stuffed with boxes and furniture that we needed to get into our storage unit. The Big Island Movers were so incredibly fast and professional that they had the furniture wrapped, reboxing done ( when necessary), and everything moved to storage in just a few hours. We were totally impressed. We have lived in Hawaii on two islands, and it was great to talk story with Hawaiians again! I called Joe last week when the moving company I had reserved cancelled on me. I was stuck trying to find a new company in less than a week for my move. I left a message on a Sunday and heard back from Joe the very same day. He was very courteous and really worked with me to find a time to move me on very short notice. Joe and his guys showed up early, and had me out of my old apartment and into my new one in less than an hour and a half (I was in a one bedroom apt. and moved within the same complex to a bigger one). I was very concerned about my furniture being scratched or dropped, as many of the pieces are very nice and solid wood -- nothing was scratched, broken, or dented. Our family was so pleased by the service we received from Big Island Movers. The staff was extremely polite and went above and beyond to take care of our personal belongings. In addition to doing their job efficiently, they also went above and beyond expectations by doing extra things like sweep out our storage unit, wrap items that could be scratched, and talk with our young children who wanted to watch everything they were doing. Big Island movers were fabulous. Having your whole house moved and all the stuff in it can be super stressful- however, these guys were hard working, had a great price and didn't scratch a thing. Completely unprofessional on the phone. He was implying that i had large boxes, so my stuff must be heavy. That for books i should use small boxes. I just moved my same stuff a year ago and movers used dolly to move my boxes to first floor. No heavy lifting or carrying boxes up stairs. Totally rude! Joe and his moving crew are prompt, respectful, hard working and most of all, truly caring. If it weren't for Big Island Movers fitting our move in, I would have been forced to rent my home back from our buyers so I could get everything moved! My in laws tried to help us with truckloads so we wouldn't have to hire a professional moving company. But, we had way more big furniture items than we realized! Kekoa, Charlie and Scottie took care to cushion, wrap and carefully move 4 bedrooms worth of furniture from our two-story home to a single level home. Then, they went the extra mile to ensure that our washer/dryer and refrigerator were all hooked up and working and all beds were set up. I bought them lunch and gave them parting tokens of my appreciation, but wanted to formally provide a review in case you're on the fence about hiring a mover like I was. Big Joe's moving crew are the best I have ever seen. They are prompt, professional, very hard working and most of all careful with all your prized possessions. We moved from Manteca to Folsom on a hot Friday with their huge box truck loaded to the gills. They also helped us load mine and my buddy's trailers so we could do the whole move in one day and one trip. That saved us a lot of money and headache. I cannot believe they moved it all in one trip with all our big appliances and furniture and it was all hooked up and working shortly after we arrived at the new house. Big Island movers showed up on time and worked very Hard. However I need to let everyone know that I had very expensive jewelry missing after this move. One of the men had me remove my jewelry from my safe as he said he was going to have to roll the safe down the stairs. I removed the jewelry from the safe (I think he watched me do the combination) and questioned why he would roll a safe down the stairs it had a handle. Then he saw that and said I could put my jewelry back in the safe so he had a second time to see the combination. At any rate when the safe made it to my house the thousands of dollars of jewelry was not in my safe. You decide. Be cautious with this company. read more

They are absolutely amazing, very efficient and the customer service is impeccable!!! They moved our house in 4 1/2 hours from start to finish plus put beds together, set up the washer and dryer and also set up our entertainment center. This crew was terrific. They went right to work and carefully wrapped my furniture and even disassembled an antique armoire and put it back together at the new home. They were so helpful placing the furniture exactly where I wanted it, and even made some fantastic suggestions when I was unsure of where to put certain pieces. When we needed a new plug for the dryer, we got it, and they changed it. They were movers, builders, electricians, decorators, the whole package. I couldn't have asked for better. read more

Excellent mover! We liked the fact that the person who answers the phone is the same one who comes to your house to give an estimate, and the same one who leads the actual moving crew. We liked that Joe's company is local, but was willing to move us to the coast. We liked that he guaranteed he wouldn't go over his estimate, and in fact the total bill was considerably lower. And we especially liked the fact that our entire four-bedroom household was moved on schedule with negligible damage. read more

The guys from Big Island Movers were wonderful! They came a little early, they were supposed to be at my house at 8:30 and showed up at 7:45, but that was ok because they got right to work! I've never seen any workers get right to work and if I hadn't made them stop for a little lunch break of burgers that I bought them they would have kept on going!! They had to make 4 trips back and forth from manteca to stockton and load and unload 4xs too, but they never complained. They even helped finish packing us when we weren't completely done. I even asked to rearrange some furniture when it wasn't in the right place because I couldn't decide and still they never complained! The owner Joe even came by the day before to check on the job before he started and to introduce himself, but we we were not home. The only thing u should be aware of is that they DO NOT take credit cards, only checks and cash. When it came time to paying they did help us by calling the owner and was able to run the card over the phone, but they do not usually take credit cards so just have check or cash on hand. I highly highly recommend them. They were awesome, thanks guys!! read more

We planned a move with another moving company but then had an ER and needed a day sooner unfortunately our current company wasn't available so someone from church mentioned Big Island Movers. So I called and the first thing I said was I needed to be moved the following Friday he said he was available and he would come by Monday. Never heard so I called on Monday and he came straight out. Walked around the house telling me it was hard to give me a price because things were not all boxed up (ummm we are still living there so obviously we wouldn't be boxed up yet). It was uncomfortable to say the least. So I ask him for a price and he tells me he's not available Friday.... WHAT, so what are you doing here then. He was hoping to move a different day. No I specifically said we needed Friday and we already have someone for Saturday if he couldn't do Friday. He asked who and I told him it was Brewer Moving Company and he spent the rest of his time bashing the other company telling me not to trust them with my items and never to leave them with my stuff. I told him I have used them twice before and trust them 100% and that irritated him. How unprofessional and though his plan was to ruin the reputation of another company all he did was ruin his own. Then left saying "God bless you"..... really? He talked about how much business he has and how much money he pays in insurance, umm because that's makes you a good company... apparently he doesn't need the business! NEEDLESS to say we stuck with Brewer Moving Company on Saturday and were once again 100% satisfied! read more
